By the way, in an earlier episode, Reuben's choice of song came on the car stereo.. the other candidates said that it was an unusual song for him... The song was Party in the USA... A hint he is the mole?

I'm sorry your mole got executed. I'm still on Reuben with Lancelot as an outsider. I think the mole was sending signals to hand puppet via either a remote vibration or signal to his Google glasses. Maybe something as a wiggle of the mole's toe could send the signal. Or a signal via a look at the waitress the she sent signal.

OMG I DIED WHEN THE SCREEN TURNED RED. Part of me still doesn’t believe that Thomas isn’t the mole...there were so many reasons why it had to be Thomas, and so many reasons why it couldn’t be any of the others. The main problem that I am having right now is this: One of the following 3 statements HAS to be true- 1) The mole volunteered to play bingo after the disastrous bunker assignment 2) The mole got a red screen 3) The mole is Starfish Boy aka Ruben 🤯 My other problem is that if Thomas really isn’t the mole, then he has been doing a lot of the mole’s work for them. Thomas was always in the group that the mole would want to be in, AND he moled a lot (I guess by accident?). So...I am more impressed with his unintentional sabotages than the mole’s real sabotages at this point. This is crazy. The biggest issue that I have with Comfort being the mole is the red screen. Not because I don’t think she could pull it off (I think she is capable), but because, if Comfort is the mole, then Gilles was basically lying to the candidates, encouraging them to go all in on a single suspect in episode 4 (something they wouldn’t normally do so early in the game) with the idea that they might get to change their answers if they scored the lowest. If the mole was always going to get the lowest score, then the candidates were never going to be able to change their answers. This doesn’t seem fair. My biggest issue with Lancelot as mole is that he is too laid back when it comes to choosing groups. As I mentioned in a previous post, sometimes he lets everyone else choose first, like he doesn’t really care where he ends up. And when he DOES volunteer for something, it’s bingo. He also does things the mole really shouldn’t do (like not taking the jokers in the bunker and earning 5,000 euros). With Ruben...it’s hard to explain. Sometimes he seems almost child-like (Miley Cyrus! Starfish! Donuts!) and i think he couldn’t possibly be the mole. But then other times, he says or does something that makes me realize that he is smarter and/or more calculating than I am giving him credit for. Is Ruben the secretly brilliant amazing actor mole that I wanted Soy to be? But at the same time...Ruben does well in some assignments when he doesn’t need to. In the horseshoe assignment, he gave nothing but correct information to the other team. At the zoo, he gave correct answers but no one listened to him. Hmmm... Toos is becoming more of a question mark for me. He was my top suspect in episode 1, then dropped way down after the next few episodes. But he has had some questionable moments. “Witse” was his fault. He turned down the exemption in episode 3 and lost money. He was in the final room with Thomas in the bunker. I have no clue, basically. I guess I should actually comment on episode 6 now, lol. I thought the first assignment was HILARIOUS. I particularly liked when Lancelot told the class that he spoke Dutch, and then demonstrated by asking Thomas WTF was taking him so long 😂😂😂😂. Also-imagine that you work for De Mol production team, and you get to work one day and your job is to make that PowerPoint presentation. BEST day at work EVER! Comfort and Lancelot both had suspicious moments. In addition to the ones you mentioned, Lancelot didn’t even turn the PowerPoint on at first, so no one knew what the topic of the presentation was. The taxi driver was interesting. I agree that not much can be deduced from the card game. BUT the conversations in the taxi were intriguing to me. In Comfort’s confessional, she says that she has a good idea who the mole might be because of what the taxi driver said to her (witty remarks). Well...who makes the group laugh with his witty remarks (and did so several times in this episode?) Thomas. Was Comfort trying to frame Thomas here, by having the taxi driver make the sort of comment that Thomas might make, and then bringing attention to it? And then we end the episode with yet another movie-themed assignment. Were they hoping that Matteo would make it further into the game? Why is everything a movie reference? Anyway, I agree that Toos was in one of the best, if not the best position here. Nothing else in the challenge matters if the bus slows down or the wrong wire is cut. And Toos really pushed for them to consider going with Ruben’s color. Remember, when the group on the bus heard that Ruben said yellow and Comfort said green, Thomas immediately wanted to trust Comfort, and Toos said no, they needed to have a discussion. Ok, I think that is going to be it from me for now. My brain needs to rest. This is all too confusing!

I might skip writing a long and drawn-out post and just riff off yours this week. My brain is in so much shock that I haven't even wanted to rewatch episodes yet! Maybe after I do get around to it I'll have a long and detailed argument about how...Lancelot?...is the mole. The funniest thing for me was that I literally watched the promo for next week and paused a bunch, just to make sure Thomas didn't somehow make a reappearance. I still think that's what would make the most sense here XD This is going to sound a little extra, but I keep a spreadsheet each week and give points for each challenge to each candidate based on how moley they were. Score of 1-5 with 5 being supremely moley and 1 being not at all suspicious. The current leader after 6 episodes? The Starfish Boy himself, somehow, at an even 60. Toos and Lancelot are tied for second at 54. This may be the first season my spreadsheet tactic actually fails, or Ruben is really putting on a bloody good show. I keep going around and around suspicion-wise. Because I think just based on my numbers Ruben is pretty suspicious. Based on the way the mole spoke in the diary of the mole and in the taxi? Actually seemed a bit Lancelot-y. And oh my GOD was Lancelot suspicious in that first challenge. And he was on the airplane strip last week, which was the best place to mole. But y'know who hasn't been made all that suspicious in the editing? Toos, who for some insane reason paid $3000 to NOT earn an exemption. But he's had some good contestant behavior (earned a $1000 horseshoe at the last second which wasn't really necessary, and did great at the stunt plane challenge), and he's had just some genuine-looking reactions that make me think it can't be faked. Comfort I really do think I have to rule out. Between the red screen and actually having the right color wire on the Speed challenge this week, I just don't see it being her. I think I'm going to end up with Lancelot as my final mole choice, going against my own system. It's either that or believe Ruben is really a criminal mastermind and I just don't think I have it in me.

@@thefuzzyoranges I also looked for signs of Thomas in next week’s preview! I’m still not convinced! 🙃 Out of curiosity, what was Thomas’s score?
@thefuzzyoranges
@thefuzzyoranges Год назад
@@windfallsofdreams At the end of episode 5 he had a whopping 54. Ruben had 47, Toos and Comfort were shockingly tied at 44, and Lancelot was last at 39. I might need to revisit some old challenges and readjust some scores. Not a perfect system since it's my subjective scoring, and some challenges make it harder to score than others (challenge two this week was a bit difficult, but I mostly just gave 5 points to those who got the cover song wrong, because a lot was based on luck and this was not), but it still usually averages out by final 3. I'll report back next week.

@@thefuzzyoranges I don't know why. It seems pretty obvious, looking back, that it's Ruben right now. I'm kicking myself for not making more of his suspicious behavior in the early rounds. He and Lancelot literally failed the entire challenge single-handedly. I don't think the Mole can be Lancelot after the bomb didn't explode, and yet I never looked at Ruben more closely? Gah...

@@julieswidm FTR I actually think now that it could be Lancelot. In the first challenge he was with Ruben and they pretty much messed it up single-handed. Second one he lost E1000 through bad dancing... third he insisted on Liesalot being rescued as soon as possible, when she staying in the camper was the only one who could make money. Then he was on the train team in episode 2 (which was a disaster) and his team didn't finish their pushups. He also directed them to the unpeeled potatoes and even suggested continuing to use them after Liesa and Samya arrived. Episode 3 he was responsible for "Jolly Jumping". His egg was smashed (I thought, it had to be stolen, but he himself could've done it). Episode 4 is where it starts to go downhill. he was in the bunker (where the Mole would want to be) but didn't grab the pasvragen. We didn't see him try to convince Liesa too much either. The statement "I had to go with the group feeling" might refer to him. He was in the bingo challenge instead of the zoo challenge, which is not ideal to sabotage. In Episode 5 he knocks over the cereal boxes. He does pilot the drone very well though, giving them their only decent set of clues. And in Episode 6 he does a pretty awful job as teacher, and loses the E2000 card in the diner, but I can't see much he does in the bus beyond agreeing with the wrong bomber, which doesn't actually do very much. * I want to make a similar analysis with Ruben, but the fact remains - he looks like the Mole in every challenge in the first three episodes. But not in the nuclear bunker, the bingo, the drone or (compared to others at least) the bus. Hmmmmm...
@H0lyMoley
@H0lyMoley Год назад
Heh. Well that was amusing. The mischievous part of my brain absolutely loves it when everyone's "prime suspect" gets cut. Especially if I'm not on the same wavelength. Thomas was high up on my suspect list the entire way through - ever since being the first person to identify Matteo in Ep 1 in fact - but it never quite felt "right". Episode 2 was a big stumbling block for me there. He looked like a team player for the most part. I was all about ready to rule him out after he got the E2000 card in the diner, but then he was the one who cut the wrong wire in the bus. And along with Lancelot identified the wrong bomber. A lot of confusion there. All I know is that others seem to have a very definite suspect - I don't at all! - and I don't at all! I'm really worried that I've been continually overlooking Ruben, and he's looking more and more suspicious at this point. I don't know if you'd want to be the bus driver in this task, but if you can crush the car without getting the blame, that's one heck of a sabotage. I still don't think it's Lance. The other three I'm really doubtful on. Last thought: I really wish you could see the players' legs more in the diner. The signal to stop for the players was to cross one's arms. Anybody play the scissors game, where the whole point is it's not your arms that matter, it's your legs? I think the barkeep was a total distraction and the real key was that the Mole was crossing and uncrossing their legs.

Omg you’re alive! I thought we might have lost you with this season being hard to get ahold of. I’m really wavering between Ruben and Lancelot, but I said at the beginning of the season that Lancelot was the red herring. Maybe I’ll just trust my initial gut and go with Ruben as mole. May wait until next week to tunnel 😁
@H0lyMoley
@H0lyMoley Год назад
@@thefuzzyoranges Right now I think you'd be correct to go with that gut feeling. But we'll see! I'm kicking myself for discounting Ruben. I was like "I thought they'd do three young-ish blondes in a row and I was wrong. I'm not making that mistake with the young guys." I am probably going to do a deep dive into the challenges and try and come up with a definite answer.

I never suspected Thomas
@thefuzzyoranges
@thefuzzyoranges Год назад
I actually felt nervous for the first time this week when Thomas told the puppet-mole that he knew who the mole was 100%. Which, honestly, was probably just his way to joke with the mole and put him/her on the back foot. But then he had that whole spiel right before the elimination how he had ruled Ruben out with his gut instinct and alarm bells started going off in my head. Then Gilles called his name out first and I was nearly hyperventilating. Then he got the red screen and I collapsed on the floor and freaked out for like 10 minutes. I watched it at like 10 o'clock at night. Do you know how much sleep I got after that??? Oh I slept SO BAD!!! That first challenge gave me such bad second-hand embarrassment for Lancelot. It would literally be the worst challenge for me for so many reasons. Public speaking? Bad! In your second language? BAD! Having to make stuff up on the fly and not embarrass yourself? MAKE IT STOP!!! He was obviously, insanely suspicious this challenge. I'll put it this way, if I were the mole I would NEVER agree to be the teacher this challenge, but Lancelot strikes me as a mole who would sign himself up for it. Puts you in the driver's seat to guarantee a good chunk of money isn't earned. He can waste time with the clap claps, delay the fun facts, give out random facts incorrectly and only get caught if Comfort and/or Thomas call him on it. If he's the mole, this should be his piece de resistance. If he's a contestant...ho boy, what a colossal failure. But he almost messed up in ways I would expect a contestant to mess up. He is a very good mole if he is moling, cause I've written most of his previous sabotages off as too obvious or too human error-y. This one felt pretty human error-y, like a man under supreme duress. Ruben messing up the rubber bands was...kind of suspicious I guess? Like it didn't look easy to me. It wasn't like Toos was nailing any of the shots either. And the photos were pretty close together. If Ruben sabotaged by getting the wrong picture here I imagine he spent a ton of his prep time practicing on this, and a job well done. If Lancelot is the mole here, also impressive job, because I would rather jump off the roof of the building. Comfort was in what I thought would be the best position to sabotage, but yeah. After the last challenge, I just don't see how she can be the mole. Toos didn't do anything really, good or bad. At least Ruben got the apple part later. Toos could've been flying under the radar this challenge to gear up for the Meet the Mole challenge? Speaking of, I LOVED the second challenge. Pre-challenge, when they're talking to the mole's puppet in the car, the short, quip-y responses the mole gives makes me wonder. I would expect this way of talking from a Lancelot mole, less so the others. Ruben may be a criminal mastermind though and I may not be giving him enough credit. Toos also, although I have a real hard time reconciling some of Toos' previous actions. I think trying to find a way to argue for Toos is sort of like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole, or a contestant-shaped candidate into a mole hole. I feel like Lancelot and Ruben are just better choices at this point. I could see Comfort responding this way as well, I suppose, but I've really got her written off. I found it kind of weird and very suspicious that the answer to each and every song question was cover. No original song played...at all. My hidden hint radar is pinging about this, but I can't come up with anything clever after my shocker. And of course effing Lancelot and Ruben both get the cover question wrong. Like why make it easy for us. Both either earn nothing or a minimal amount so it's like comparing an apple to an identical apple. Toos being a gambler and going big to earn $600 would make him seem less suspicious, but I found it really intriguing that the mole stopped on Comfort's turn at a measly -$200. Really made me wonder if a mol!Toos would do this to throw suspicion off himself. He played up the chaos, which did read a bit candidate-like, but again he could have easily hidden a subtle, under-the-table leg cross or something in the madness of eating pie and/or thanking April for the tenth time. Comfort could have really pulled a fast one on the contestants and just called out $2000 as $200 or something. Were the candidates required to sit this challenge? Cause I would have kept an eagle eye on every turned over card. Everyone seemed so eager to look for hidden hints from the mole that they could have easily neglected to keep an eye on the cards. For the Speed challenge...I mean yeah all the boys were suspicious in their own way. Ruben for the wrong color, Toos for picking Ruben (I mean you've got Comfort vs Ruben and you go with RUBEN??? Comfort is RIGHT THERE!!!), and Lancelot incorrectly identifying Ernesto as the bomber, which wasted valuable time. The nice (and infuriating) thing about this challenge is that the mole could have done any of these things and they are all valid sabotages. I'd normally say you need to be in the bus in this type of challenge, but giving the wrong color is certainly a successful way to mole. But was it too obvious? I mean if Lancelot was obvious in the first challenge, Ruben was just as obvious here. THIS SEASON HAS BROKEN MY BRAIN. I legitimately don't know who the mole is, and at this point I'm too afraid to ask. I kinda think Toos might be out next week still. The whole 'I went all-in on episode 4 and no one else did' hasn't left my brain. The way Comfort said she hadn't suspected Ruben before makes me curious too. I think it might be a Lancelot vs Ruben finale, with Comfort as the winner. She'll be like 'Oh, I thought it was Lancelot, but Ruben was really suspicious that one time I worked with him so I dunno anymore,' so we won't know who she actually votes for. Then she wins and it'll be a 'Is it Lancelot or Ruben after all' sorta reveal. I'm...gonna go with Lancelot as the mole...I think? I'll have a definitive mole pick before the finale. I think.

All of the songs being covers kind of fits the theme of the assignment, because in the taxi, the candidates were listening to the taxi driver “covering”/imitating what the mole was saying. So maybe that’s the connection? I am kind of curious about the song that was playing in the very beginning of the episode though, when we first saw the taxi driver walking out of the diner. Does anyone know what song that was? There could be a hint there, maybe.

@@julieswidm Thank you for the info! I did some research: Cracker Jack was the name of Dolly Parton’s pet dog that she had when she was a girl. She wrote this song about him around the same time that she wrote “And I Will Always Love You”, so that is probably why they included it in this episode. So, no hidden clues there, unfortunately. However, “Defeated Clown” could be a hidden reference to Soy 😂😂😂😂😂
