"Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All Knowing" obviously didn't know enough to not stand right in a cloud of toxic fumes that inflict the deadliest disease known in the lands between, nor did he bother to check the pillar where they were being yeeted from.
what i like the most about watching speedruns is seeing the runners comment "'i'm probably not getting it this time" and such while we know they actually did get it that time
No one uses it because its strong, Its really not that strong anymore, wing of astel and darkmoon are far better for int melee builds. Everyone uses it to be like Vergil so you guys are all the same
I am admittedly awful at these games. But I've learned a lot about how to play and use buffs and even how to scale weapons properly from watching you. It has dramatically reduced the difficulty of the game as a whole. So thank you for that! This is my all time favorite game even with my lack of skill
7:21 - Text wall on how to get the Assasin's Gambit Ash of War from Bernahl so early Step 1: Progress Rya's Questline untils he moves to Altus Plateau (this part is optional but it makes everything much easier) Step 2: Kill Bernahl and collect the Bell Bearing Step 3: Meet Rya in Altus and let her take you to the Volcano Manor, or simply get to the Manor in any way you see fit Step 4: Talk to Tanith and join Volcano Manor Step 5: Give Bernahl's Bell Bearing to the Twin Maiden Husks. If you already handed over the Bell Bearing, it will update after joining hte Volcano Manor Step 6: You've unlocked Assasin's Gambit without having to fight Rykard and skipping the 3 NPC invasions for the Volcano Manor.
@@TimothyGod Yeah, it looks like the triggering event is to join the Volcano Manor, that'll make AG appear in his bell-bearing shop. I haven't double-checked it myself, but that's what the vid says!
The Moonveil is both Int/Dex based, the Transient Moonlight scales better off of Inteligence, while the physcal damage scales better off of Dex. I find it pretty fun to use, because if you conect the power Transient, it hits with both the blade and the magic and gets staggers very easy. And since you are also hitting with the blade, it builds up the blood loss as well as the stagger. However, just hitting with the Transient Moonlight skill does barely any poise damage. Also, it takes a little more stamina, but you can roll cancel the finish animation and go into a quicker Transient. You can also follow up a Transient Moonlight with a Power Attack, which is the lunge attack, which also does good poise damage if it connects.
Originally, the physical hit and and projectile did the exact same or similar poise damage, but that was too powerful so they transferred lots of the poise from the projectile to the physical hit.
These unique ashes that are juat base ashes with special effects attached are so cracked. Corpse Piler is Double Slash, Night and Flame Stance is Stand Off, Transient Moonlight is Unsheathe, etc. That's sick as hell
Moonveil is just sick, ash of war is very strong, blood loss, I just wish it had a glinstone design similar to carian knights sword & lazuli glinstone sword as it states it’s embedded with glinstone, the regular old katana design is kind of meh but it’s still one of my favorite weapons on a sorcerer.
26:57 the urge to spam L2+R1/R2 is real with Moonveil......Great run. I ended up with this weapon on my first run because I was full weeb Samurai to start. I actually planned to do Dex/Int anyways and it was like Miyazaki was saying something to me. I also felt like it had way more poise damage. I know it received a damage nerf but didn't think they touched the poise damage.
Would love to see a compilation of all the times you've failed the runs. Wouldn't be long but it would be an interesting watch to see what you struggle with or if you get Elden Ringed
My first competed run was done with this, combined with a cold-infused Uchi. The weapon art R2 is so efficient I barely used spells, despite having the stats for them. For NG+ I respecced to be more spell focused, leveled up as bunch of other weapons, and put this one away into the box 😄
@@bartekkajewski8385 it's a God damn video game. Let people play how they want. You are not better in any way just because you have more fun playing with a different weapon.
My whole first play thru of elden ring was with daggers only. It would be super sick to see a reduvia no hit run to see how you handle bosses that are resistant to bleeds. Anyways awesome content keep up the grind.
Moonveil is imo the most OP weapon, even better than other OP-tagged weapons or specific builds (so anything can be OP) - the AoW is sick, you can hold a distance between you and your enemies, low FP costs, stagger enemies and procc even bleed. I used it as my main weapon on my mage run.
Not sure if you've done this already, but I would love a vid where you rank the best weapons/builds that you've used. Your runs give a different perspective than most and we'd love to hear your thoughts
If you really want to never ever touch grass again you can no hit elden ring 40 times consecutively with all the weapons you've used in this chalenge and kill each boss
Gino? You keep mentioning "maybe subscribe" and only today I realized: "Yeah. Actually I wanna sub. Its free. It helps you. Your content rocks. You have better teeth than Hob. Subbed." I love you, man.
@@rovers141 It takes like 5 minutes at most to talk to Blaidd and kill Darriwil, and then speaking to Iji is like a two minute detour even if you're not already going to him for sombers. You don't need to kill Loretta.
@@lovofofo still not worth it. It's a no hit run, he has all of the FP flasks he could ever need since he doesn't need HP flasks. Stamina talismans, damage talismans, stat boosting talismans, all better options.
Fun tip for the godskin duo fight any katana with unsheathe has the same setup kill. 2 full charged R2s, unsheathe R2 variation perfectly staggers both noble and apostle. One R1 and then the riposte kills one.
It was insanely broken, fromsoft I think purposely had these cheesy OP options at launch for all the noobs. Was basically fromsoft adding easy mode with how powerful and spam happy many ash of war was at launch
@@fintan9218 No it was more them not balancing their game at all. How else do you explain all the other builds they clearly never tried that got nerfed mere months after release? IE Froststomp, sword of night and flame. Its not the first time Fromsoft did this for "balancing", if you look at DS3 they did the same thing where any OP or regularly used build they made it suddenly do 1/2 damage or cost an insane amount more. Balancing is adjusting the numbers slightly to make things more inline with other items/abilities. Which if you look at how they "buff" weapons its nowhere near how much they reduce the damage. Redmanes whole thing was its insane poise damage for reasonable MP cost. Now it does 1/4, so you now have to 12 casts at 14 mp rather than 3 at 20? So over an entire mana bar to stun a boss once...sure that's worth it...Its damage was always subpar too even on a near maxed weapon, so it made it a useless ash of war then on any build.
I remember Moonveil being much stronger before. The nerfs were especially noticeable in that Radahn fight where you weren’t able to stagger him. That poise damage on transient moonlight is significantly weaker. I also tested the damage a bit on an Int character I made a while back and was reaching about 3000 damage on Transient Moonlight. However if I were to switch to Dark Moon GS and put on Godfrey’s Icon I’d be at 4500 damage per charged attack while also building up frost. Moonveil just isn’t nearly as good as it used to be. Edit : I also used red feather and bloodboil aromatic on top of other buffs to reach 3000 while I didn’t use those with the Dark Moon GS charged attacks to reach 4500.
yeah i didnt play ER til 1.08 and i heard great things about moonveil - switched to crystal sword because it was so much better. in this era of ER moonveil is a let down
Late comment but Moonveil's poise damage is the same as before if you hit with both the blade and the magical part of Transient Moonlight. I still staggered Radahn, it just took a bit of time since I wasn't too familiar with his moveset. I do agree the Dark Moon GS is stronger though, more damage, same (or even better) stagger potential, better range, more fp efficient.
You should consider Black Knife Run, i did myself and enjoyed every little bit, although its wa is holy damage, percentage damage on it and considirably early holy demage buffs makes it very fun to use
Funny thing with the fire giant is that hes weak to slash and magic(well, 0% resist to magic and -10% resist to slash so comparatively to most things in the game hes weak to magic) and you deal slash and magic so it definitely was easier because of that lmfao but the weapon is really good still yeah AND IT HAS BLEED TOO I FORGOT moonveil is just like a counter to fire giant edit: also same thing for Hoarah Loux hes especially weak to slash and magic, even more so than fire giant
On my first playthrough I planned on going a dex/int build and when i found the moonveil i was so happy it was such a good weapon. Used it till i found the moonveil greatsword and then switched between them for the remainder of the playthrough.
damn those nervs are actually visible. Release Moonveil poiseproke the eldenbeast in 3 heavy ashes attacks at least 3 times in a row (this is how I've got my first Elden Beast kill), now the poise dmg is MUCH lower
Jesus dude. I've watched a few of your videos now. This Radahn slay was top tier. I have the Moonveil and Carian Slicer set up and don't feel confident. 😂
I hope he makes or has a Cheese playlist showing off the strats I see him use on these runs, I need to learn all his secret Jedi movies like the Draconic Tree Sentinel one
I’ve watched a lot of your videos, just discovered you a week ago. But I always with you would leave your “information of items” up more than 4 frames. Sometimes you put up like 3 sentences for like 0.2 seconds. Love your content, I’m subscribed:)
I only got the first part before resetting the page by mistake and its not even in the video anymore " People have been asking how to get Assassins Gambit from Bernahl so early in the game, Because when you get his Bell Bearing it doesn't show up in the Twin Maiden's Shop at first."
to the guy writing "moonveil is such a hidden and underrated weapon" - my dear, you seem to not play pvp at all and i am really happy that you are in the position to still like the moonveil.
@@KogasaTatara514the best thing is learning how to parry moonveil, it makes them scurry away real fast. Use carian retaliation so you get the glint blades and the stagger from the physical parry and get the riposte. Running a mersericord setup (def not how u spell it 😂)
DS3 katanas (at least the Uchi since I can’t quite remember the others well) were more for sacrificing your shield for something else since you were giving other players a choice of “will I try to parry or will I just whack you?” At least with actual players anyway, casually I mainly saw it for fashion or bleed builds, or that one katana used to set up RTS one shot builds
Somehow I didn't hear about this weapon being so good until after it was nerfed. I gave it a try on a run through a week or so ago and honestly I had a lot of fun with it. It wasn't RoB levels of cheese and it looks fantastic. Excellent and perfectly valid weapon for PvE. I don't know how it performs in PvP anymore but I could see it pissing people off with its ultra passive counter style.
GG @GinoMachino for all the runs. I have a question please, why on Giant's P2 you doesn't go for his leg instead of his hands please ? Keep the great work ! The ainsel river skip Is magic ! 😄😄
@@sbennosukeI disagree. I've killed Fire Giant 5 or 6 times by now, and I honestly just go for the hands at this point. Along with the huge poise of the moonveil, it works well
@@supremeclamitas5053 thank you for the answers. But those 5 Times were no hit or low HP runs ? Going for the hands means having to deal with the punches coming at you. In a no hit run you try to avoid hits. Being near the legs allow that, since in P2 fire giant doesn't use his legs.
@@sbennosuke They were not, but I was working off of my personal experiences in order to project what I thought Gino might do, which he did do anyways. If he can dodge the attacks comfortably, why not?
I remember when I first played Elden Ring and didn’t have a clue what I was doing I just kept levelling up strength while using Carian Knight Sword with Sword of St Trina For every endgame boss (except Fire Giant) I had to summon other players to help me fight, they carried my useless ass to the finish line and threw me to the other side Compared to now, where I was worried I wouldn’t be able to re spec back to my dual Petal Whips because I forgot how to get more Larval Tears, I’ve come quite a long way First Playthrough Carian Knight Sword +9 Sword of St Trina +9 Most points were put into strength Current Playthrough Dual Hoslow Petal Whips +25, right hand has Flame Art Affinity, left hand has Frost Affinity, Frostbite and Bleed added to the physical, fire and magic damage, alongside a Fingerprint Seal since I’ve put a lot of points into Faith and the Fingerprint Seal’s faith scaling is nuts, best incantations (at least the ones I like using the most) are Frost Lightning Spear, Black Blade and Glintstone Breath, I would use Smarag’s Glintstone Breath but it costs more FP for a minor boost in power, not worth it First playthrough, even when summoning help for every attempt, it still took me 3 hours to beat Malenia Most current Malenia attempt, I beat her on my first try And not once, NOT ONCE, have I resorted to Rivers of Blood or Moonveil…alright I’m done
Is the Moonveil Op? Well I don’t use Katanas like ever so I decided to try it out in PVP with a zero armor and min maxed and talismanned up build so I do as much damage as possible, but intentionally has like no health and zero defense to challenge myself, truly test out the power of this weapon and… I still did well against two people at once typically. Ya know what the only thing many of them could do to beat me? Pull out their own Moonveils lol
Moonveil is great, but when I respecced from a blasphemous blade build, I ended up going back. Not because Moonveil was worse but because so much of the kit I relied on with the BB build was missing because my main stat became INT instead of FAITH.
Do Rivers of Blood. It's not OP unless you buff stack with high stats. (Basically is alright, nothing too strong) Reminder that it does fire damage also, much like Mogh's and Eleanora's.
I didnt know what this weapon is but i wanted to give it a try. It was my main weapon since. Didnt know it was that popular but hey i see why it is that popular.
