FIRST DRIVE: The Accord is redesigned for 2023 and Honda wants to dominate the Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5 & Nissan Altima. On the outside of the Touring trim you will notice silver accents, unique 19in wheels and LED lighting. On the inside you will be greeted by a leather interior, new 12.3in infotainment display, and standard size sunroof. Powering the Accord Touring is a 2.0L inline-4 pared with (2) electric motors to produce 204HP. Is the NEW 2023 Honda Accord Touring a sedan WORTH the PRICE?

Just purchased 2023 Accord EX-L. Took a 500 mile trip using Econ mode and averaged 47 mpg. Could have gotten better if I hadn’t monkeyed around with other modes in between. The acoustic feedback was funny to me in sport mode. It really did enhance the experience for me. All in all, I love this car.

Looking at other comments, I'm probably in the minority when saying I really like the clean simplicity of this exterior design. Perhaps I'm just getting older or don't really see the Accord as being a young person's car. To me, an Accord is the car I buy and hold onto for 15+ years and put hundreds of thousands of miles on and can rely on it every time to safely and comfortably get from A to B with no drama. The previous nose was too busy for my taste but I think this will age well when we look back many years from now.

I bought the 2023 Accord Hybrid EX-L just over a month ago. I wanted the "Touring", but just couldn't get the monthly payments down low enough, even with a hefty down payment. I decided to go with the EX-L, as other than the wheel size and a few "extras" that I can easily live without - although the Bose speakers would have been nice! -- they are essentially the same car. I don't care what some say about how the 2023 Accord is "a step back", that it "doesn't look sporty" -- I don't care. Coming from my 2010 Accord, THIS new version is like riding in a Cadillac. I love the "tech" - the automatic braking and lane assist (whatever it's called) do work quite well. However, the camera that is mounted above the rearview mirror sometimes has trouble "seeing" the lanes on the highways if they are faced or obscured by rain. To be honest, I don't even notice that the wheels are 17" and not 19". It equates to somewhat improved MPG which is part of the reason I wanted a hybrid to begin with.
@Daniel-et4kl
@Daniel-et4kl Год назад
Styling is actually pretty sleek and modern. I think the fact that the Accord is moving away from performance to focus on comfort, practicality, fuel efficiency, and luxury is a great thing. As the first car released under the rebranded 2023 Accord, it’s not a bad hybrid at all. I will say for a car that is moving more towards comfort and luxury, the seats leave a lot to be desired, and the camera system is underwhelming. Those are the only two things that disappointed me about this car, and those have become staples in other cars, so that could be a deal breaker for some.

However, I always wanted to have a town car, like my dad. Sedans are 16% of the market. Type R? Great. CTV Blackwing? Also, great. They could always throw a turbo on this in later years, but I prefer the more reliable, efficient, and slower, NA engine. There's an elegance to a car that isn't trying to be something it isn't-- this accomplishes that. I think Honda knows that there are plenty of people who would love a traditional Ford or Cadilliac sedan but don't have the option anymore. Quick takes and take-aways on the Touring Edition Accord. That's a lot of greenback to go into touring. I do love the "C" word as in the classy and clean lines which should age well over time. Turbos are fun until you have to pay on the maintenance. No body should lament the loss off that big block of chrome on the front. No 360 degree means no pomp or circumstance for this road scholar. Love the seats and controls. At least with Honda if you have issues the company will back up it products. At least it's nice that some car companies still make...you know...actual cars and not simply SUVs. Lori reflects nicely in that blue paint finish!

The back end is the problem - not feeling it. The interior like other new Hondas are fine but for the amount you're spending on the top trims, they're always lacking in many areas where it's nonsensical. And in Canada at least, the pricing is nuts. I get it, supply chain etc....makes you wonder over the next 18 months if that is going to remain a valid "excuse." I will say this: As a Honda enjoyer, If Toyota still has their Camry TRD 300hp V6 models, then I’m never going to look back at the pitiful 192hp 1.5T Accord and this 206hp hybrid. I loved the older 278hp 2017 V6 Honda Accord’s and even the 252hp 2018 2.0T Accords that used to win drag races against Ecoboom Mustangs; but if this pitiful 192hp is all they got that’s not a hybrid, then I am no longer on the market for an Accord, and the Accord is dead to me. I understand that not enough people bought these higher hp products, but it’s just sad to see the performance options of V6, V8, and 2.0T disappearing.

You asked us to comment...No, it is not worth $38000, The honey comb interior fake vents do not belong in the Accord (leave them in the Civic), the rims on this model are too flashy for the new clean look, no 360 camera again, no power folding mirrors again, the interior shiny black accents are not necessary, no good name brand stereo option, the stereo knob below the center screen looks out of place, infotainment system and maps look ancient, replace ugly stick automatic with the push button version seen on previous models (much cleaner look), its time to get rid of the prop rod for the hood. Give us full power driver and passenger seats, Reduce the model line-up for the Accord...way too many trim levels that are useless.

If any model should have been kept with the two liter turbo engine, it was this one. The touring always was a great value if you wanted pretty much an Acura without paying the premium. Unfortunately, it resulted in Honda getting caught with its pants down as the 2 liter turbo accord absolutely walked away from the TLX. But that's not something that a consumer should suffer for, that's the same way that muscle cars existed initially. Cheap car, big engine, tons of power, not a lot of money. It's a shame that now we have to buy the luxury car just to get the nicer, more driver oriented, experience.
