Is the New 2023 Nissan Ariya a better SUV than a Toyota BZ4X & VW ID.4?

The first time I saw this suv last year, I’ve loved the look of this model. Arya is beautiful and I think Nissan has a hit on their hands. It’s affordable for those that can spend $40k-$60k which is a bigger group than those that can afford a $60k-$100k+ for an suv. Also, I love the bronze look that this is I , beautiful.

Reminds me a lot of the ID.4, both in what's available and in how it's designed. They both have a similar feature set with one having something the other doesn't. They also both went with the "screw the frunk, give em the space inside" strategy.

Cant wait to get mine with Pearl White before year end! Been waiting since my preorder in Nov ‘21 at the LA Auto Show. Mine does not include Pro Pilot 2 but has everything else with FWD version. Why did you not add Model Y to your subject heading? For $17K LESS, it smokes the Model Y to the curb.

My favourite quirk in the Ariya is the sliding centre console. I saw that you can slide the centre console in the Renault Scénic, but was manually operated.

Amazing presentation. We shouldn't forget that Nissan with the Murano(2002; 2014) set the trend for generations of cars. The design of the 2014 model is still relevant.

Great video. I like this car .. You complain about piano black inside the car, but dont complain about it on the outside trim. Not practical with bugs, smear, road grime and brush swirls from car washes. Same with the wheel well openings and a lot of piano black on the rear of this car too. Although not mentioned, i did see a sun shade sliding cover? I would be interested in how quiet the car is at highway speeds and wind noise And the quality of the radio.

You were wrong at around 30:40. You said no other brand has shown how that regen braking works. As far as I knew, most brands (or at least mine) can shown such regen braking on the instrument panel.

I think the Ariya gives the Tesla Model Y some competition, especially when the dual motor version comes out.

Man, more expensive than a fully specced out Murano without the equivalent features. Kind of a bummer.

Now that Nissan has killed the Maxima execution style, I petition for this Ariya to be assembled in Smyrna, Tennessee for it can qualify for those “EV Tax Credits”

I love Nissan they are working hard get quality back together just so sorry the Maxima will no longer be in the lineup after next year. The Ariya looks good ever since Mr. Ghosn left they have been doing so much better knew Nissan could do it so excited with this brand now see sells of these lineups will approve starting see Consumer Reports are rated most of these cars. I like the CVTS wish could use 9 speed automatic in most vehicles still Nissan is doing such amazing job now talk about First Award of Excellence.

Love it way more than the Toyota Bz and think it is a lot more bang for the buck. I also love any steps taken to improve the environment so I love the push to EV vehicles, but how are people who don’t make a gazillion dollars a year supposed to comfortably afford one? I, myself just bought a new 4Runner so I’m good on a new car for the next quarter of my life lol, but would love a fuel efficient/eco friendly garage buddy for it in the next 10 years. However, I don’t feel like financing another 40K+ car and will probably buy an EV base model of something. Sometimes there’s such thing as too many bells and whistles imo lol. These prices are CRAZY. But, beautiful car. I come from a Nissan family so I’m happy to see they’re excelling on the EV front.

The rear lights are the best I’ve seen and the color of the badging and wheels Shifter and console is bad ass and nicest I’ve seen not plastic looking Ventilated seats are a must if this has everything else. Come on Nissan if you wanna beat your competition.

Great review! That automatic parking was excellent. We had the 2018 Leaf, and whilst Propilot was great at following the car in front, the auto parking required countless button presses and was useless. 4 years is a long time in technology development, so it looks like Nissan cracked it. Went for a test drive in an Ariya recently. Lovely vehicle. Only downside, those haptic touch buttons for the HVAC and driving mode require you to look at them, taking your eyes off the road. (Tesla the same!) We need more buttons people!

This may reveal that my car still has the old fashioned green/black displays. But how does the camera rear view mirror hold up at night? Is it bright? That would be, for me, a dislike. But maybe it doesn't matter with the other larger screens in front of the driver too. Do they all dim or (mostly) turn off at night?

Hope the eforce platinum doesn’t have the same way to put down the back seats without the handles in back , that is ridiculous running around like that .. and wonder if those same plastic fans on the wheels will be on the platinum ? hope not .. and do not like that silvery sliver over the window , would have to delete all and any chrome/silver it looks terrible.. and would remove the Nissan lettering behind that housing in back , and maybe even all emblems in back , make it look all flush , no need for all the badging , that huge big badge up front is too much as it is , wonder if that can be tinted up too
