I think the older one does the trench coat better because of the curves, it actually looks more like it’s a coat behind the legs rather than just being the leg.
I’m surprised there isn’t a third party figure of him. Meanwhile just about (if not all) every main transformer of AoE have one. I mean, Drift just got his first true triple changer figure. So there’s still hope.
I kind of wish that when they were designing this guy for the movies that instead of trying to turn most of the car mode into a trench coat (granted a pretty cool idea) they had designed so the trench coat was like a dust cover for the car in vehicle mode which could store in the tunk of the car for when he was driving around but could be used as an actual cloth trench coat in robot mode (granted they probably would have to make the coat like a black or grey cloth) but they could keep the car deco the same it just wouldn't be as prominent in robot mode
(Edit: I got my Crosshairs today and I Like him and it is safe to say that mine has very good QC he's nice and tight minus the coat parts) My favorite Bayverse character ever and I am glad we have an option to remove the car hood for a cleaner look. Hopefully mine will have tight ball joints like my Bumblebee brawn's Arms when I get it
Im suprised Hasbro and Takara made all 4 of the wheels pinned, usually its all pegged wheels or both pegged and pinned wheels. I hope this is a standard going foward.
Like Studio Series Galvatron (who should have been a Leader), I think this one would have worked out a lot better as a Voyager release. If I remember correctly he was a half a head taller than Bumblebee, so I think the overall budget would have worked out like on SS86 Hot Rod, giving us a more complex toy with a load of accessories (parachutes, blast effects, a little Cogman)
Yeah, no. Not everyone is made out of money. Plus, all of the extra accessories you mentioned are pretty useless (Parachute is relevant to only one scene, blast effects were unnecessary in the first place and should’ve been sold separately from figures), just like SS86 Hot Rod’s.
If you really want to just give Hasbro more money for absolutely no reason, I'm sure they have a donation box somewhere. Look at some of the amazing deluxe and terrible leaders that have come out, increasing size class does nothing to improve a figure.
I think your review actually convinced me to go in on this guy after all this time of initially being kinda unimpressed with him, I think I’ll grab him eventually down the line now^^ (along with Ironhide too!)
Looking behind the robot figure reminds me of the robot modes of any TF Alternators character wherein each looked so messy but the vehicle mode is amazing
OK, so Crosshair’s transformation is a little AOE Deluxe Lockdown/TLK Deluxe Hot Rod, and a little ROTF Deluxe Sideswipe, with some clever improvements. Awesome figure, though, yeah, the TLK Deluxe side panels did look good, for the time. Really glad the Studio Series figure includes two guns now. The green really pops for Corvette mode, and great detail in both modes. Thanks!
Would’ve been cool if they made the leg wheels swing around inside the legs to form the calf’s, would’ve helped fill the legs out a bit. If they painted the insides of the cars side frames, that are exposed from the back of the figures robot mode, to be black with green pinstriped highlights, that would improve the trench coat look. Maybe make the shoulder guards & arm guards, black with green pinstripes, and gunmetal/copper highlights on the mechanical details. As well as add an inside arm panel that hinges open to allow the hands to store in vehicle mode. The panel could have gunmetal/copper mechanical details.
@@Cinder_the_Art_Gal8144 and make it non transformable. For people who actually buy _Tranformers_ to _transform_ then, that's not an option. Also, being able to remove a significant mass of a figure and have it be better is not a good thing.
I found if you remove the tabbed spoiler and shimmey around the backpack so it's underneath the panels and leave it partially collapsed it has a more rounded trenchcoat look and all you have to do is an extra 180° turn when transforming into the alt-mode. The only downside is the back wheels are exposed but I personally don't mind that as much
I modded the collar so he has full neck rotation. It makes a WORLD of difference when posing. The only thing I still have issue with is the shoulders. They get in the way a lot. But overall I actually really like this figure.
I feel the opposite. I'm fine with the last version. To me this has so much wrong. Things still seem off to me and it just has to do with how difficult it must be to make that character into a toy. I do get the feeling that this figure might be better in hand than watching photos or videos though.
Just snagged on clearance and once again SS figures in hand are much better than pics. Super fun to transform for me and feels great in hand and love the weapon storage.
The new one looks great but I just can’t bring myself to by another crosshairs, when I already have the old one and when he wasn’t on of my favorite characters.
Both figures aren't bad in my opinion. Both have pros and cons. I think the SS is the best! The original isn't bad by any means but still, both are worth it
Hey Toy Guy I recommend you to buy the Transformers SS 38 Bumblebee Movie OptimusPrime, or Premium Finish Version of it, you'll regret playing with it..
I love Crosshairs design and the figure isn't the best but still an awesome design. They did really well and I love how the flaps become the front of the car
Unpopular opinion: i think if we ever get another crosshairs it should have a black and green painted SEPERATE trenchcoat piece(cloth or plastic)and they should make a base figure that can transform without all of these annoying and BIG kibble bits....
I hate the studio series one, my copy had the worst peg issues, the back wouldn't stay on and it wouldn't trasform like the instructions showed it, after a while I gave up, I took the guns and threw it into a box and forgot about it
I honestly can't like this figure as much as i tried, the backpack is and kibble management is throwing me off, plus if you start posing the cape the illusion breaks because of how flat the and thin the actual robot mode is.
The failure of this character's toy made me trade all my studio series transformers for GI Joe classified figures. I'm sticking with G1 looking Transformers
1:02 that's not true. Crosshairs in the movie is more of a jade green than lime green. You might have noticed if you had, say, included an actual still from the movie here instead of just _saying_ it's more accurate based on your own memory.
A friend gave me his old one cause he didn't want it. I quickly realised why, it is so bad. Easily my least favorite tf figure to date id rather own Og rachet or ironhide. also doesnt help I have the version which replaces most of the silver with matte black plastic*cough, cough* aoe
The Age of Extinction version did it much better than this, while the updated design of the figure is nice, the Age of Extinction version nailed the trenchcoat.
I hate the ss crosshairs because like the original it transformers the wrong way the back is supposed to be the bottom of the trench because the front is needed to make the front of chest
I already figured out the fron of crosshairs trench coat is made by the roof spilting in two and the doors forming the bottom the figure isnt hard to make the designers just got lazy if they put in as much effort as they did with the old leader class prime we would have good figures
Crosshairs makes me sad, because he feels like he should be cooler? He's my favorite car, in my favorite colors, and he has a badass gimmick with the trench coat... but then he's just nothing. No personality, no interesting moments, just... white noise.
The legs of the original do _as much_ during transformation as the studio series, wtf are you talking about? How good can this figure be if you have to lie about the old one to make it seem better?
