Walmart sells vials of long lasting insulin for $25 which lasts me a whole month at 30 units a day. They have short acting for meals and long acting for the whole day all at the same price.

For reference, the UK NHS pays Novo Nordisk approx $52 for FIVE pens of Levemir, and $40 for the same quantity of Fiasp. US diabetics are getting ripped off

@@SugarMDs Thanks! I have already watched that one as well. My husband used to be on Glipazide and he constantly crashed from low blood sugar. And it gave him heart issues. All that stopped as soon as he came off it. Just bought your glucose support and hope to get him off the insulin.
I love your videos they are great with a lot of info which many appreciate Sadly though the cost of insulin to Americans when compared to the cost of Insulin in some other countries is extremely high. In my country the cost of Insulin to a Diabetic is the dispensing fee only which is less than $40 a year, that's a benefit of universal health care because all Diabetics are covered whether they are insured or not. My comment is not intended to detract from your message.

I get Toujeo for $105 for 7 pens which actually works out to $15 a pen from Walgreens with Medicare Drug program -Wellcare drug plan. My Novolog pen is the same. I think Pres.Trump mandated that Pharmacies are to only charge $35 for insulin. So not Sure what it's all about.

Watching this a couple of years after the video was uploaded to RU-vid as Kaiser is replacing Humulin N with this insulin as their preferred brand. At the same time, the pharmacist there increased my dosage on the Ozempic from 0.5 mg to 1 mg. I'm going to have to talk to my Dr. next week about this, as it has historically been kind of dangerous for me to change 2 diabetic medications at the same time. I'm thinking I'm going to adjust the Ozempic first, see what happens, and then decide with the Dr. how to handle the insulin change. I've already significantly dropped my need of insulin down to 10 units 2x a day, and my A1C has been holding between 6.4 - 6.8 for over a year now. I suspect after the Ozempic change, I may not even need the insulin any longer. Obviously though, as I said this is something where I need to coordinate with the Dr. to ensure I'm doing this safely.
@@maiaallman4635 Thanks, would like to rise of glucose or insulin with protein, than carbs. The reason is have been anemic for few years,as was vegan for 23 years, now have been told to eat animal meat to increase iron.😭
Question, I was diagnosed with diabetes in 1996 I'm on an insulin pump Medtronic on novolin r ever since I was diagnosed the diabetic doctor I was seeing never said anything at all about the long acting insulin on how to use it with my pump and the insulin I'm on. I have a new diabetic doctor but still nothing about Long acting insulin. I have a very hard time regulating my sugar levels. They put me on jardiance but I end up having Lows and it's devastating to me I can't stand for it to go low. So I quit taking that I'm at a standstill I have no clue what to do I can't seem to get any information out of the doctors.
The PUMPS are used for the faster-acting (Meal-time) Insulin delivery. The ALL DAY Acting Insulins are delivered by Insulin-Pens or User Multi-Injection hypos.

Do you know anything about the new methods to treat diabetes type 1 without any insulin, I mean I fount studies witch promises some capsule that would be placed under the skin and basically reacts with the pancreas and starts producing insulin. If you want I can find the link a put it here. Will we get that ever, or no chance? One American guy got it and basically he is out of Diabetes...
