I have a 2020 Sport Glide and love it so no I probably wouldn’t trade in for ST mainly because what the ST has I could add to my Sport Glide. Just my opinion.

Go check the dealer on the option of putting that fairing on your 2020. I was at Avalanche in Golden this weekend with a buddy who’s got a stage three sport glide. In 2022 they started making “all “of the soft tails or at least some significant portion of them with a bolt pass through in the neck, * this is key to mounting this ST faring. Apparently the weight is about 40 pounds so the shocks in the front room upgrade the handle for that load but I don’t know how much of an upgrade or whether or not they’re in the 2022 S… Lots of questions remain great video

I think Harley should’ve known that most people that would buy the ST will change the exhaust out to a 2-1 and should’ve kept the bags the same size .yes, they were thinking about providing maximum space for the consumer,but most people are not going to ride a small bagger cross country like a RG or SG

Get a Sissy bar and a good Saddleman luggage bag on back, see some of the 2LaneLife trips from Los Angeles to Sturgis or Deadwood, SD. It's doable if you got lodging vs camping.

Good review. Thanks! I own a 2021 Sport Glide and never noticed the different size bags until someone pointed it out to me, I don't think it's that big of a deal. Even with a 2 in 1 pipe it sits near the bottom of the bag on the Sport Glide, a 2 in 1 on the Low Rider ST likely would sit in the same place.

I have a 2018 sport glide. I did a bunch of work to it, mainly putting a fxrt fairing on it. It's a really great looking bike and it's rides amazing. I just picked up a lowrider ST and I can honestly say my sport glide is better. I like that way it sits and the rider position as well. My fxrt fairing is much more effective at blocking wind, especially at hwy speeds.

Something to consider: Screaming Eagle catalog has SE Slip-on's for the stock OE headpipe, and also a new 2-into-1 exhaust system for the FXLRS/FXLRST models. One would think that at some point, a new right side hard bag that is same size/proportions as the left side hard bag would be or become available, to keep the look [of the bags] symmetrical when adding a 2-into-1 exhaust system.

I've ridden both the sport glide and the low rider ST, and they are definitely two very different bikes. The fairing on the ST is a thousand times better than the one on the sport glide. I'm 5'8" and had zero buffeting and the wind reduction was huge! I can't say that about the sport glide. This is the bike the sport glide should have been from the beginning.

Upgrade your Sport Glide, stage 3 119ci (add the correct SE-498 cam) the longer rear spring, Gustafson 15” vented windshield with their lowers. It already comes with inverted forks, ABS, USB port, cruise control, alarm, etc as it’s top of the softail line. You now have a better far more powerful (120HP/130TQ) LRS-T.

The mis-sized bag isn’t because of the ST’s dual pipe exhaust… it’s because they reused the sport glide bags and they are also 2 different sizes even though the sport glide had a 2-1 exhaust. It’s to keep the cost of production low to reuse old left over components.

I love this bike. Have yet to see one in person. But I could definitely see myself owning one. It should of came with a 2 in 1 pipe. 2 different size bags. That's jacked.

The relatively small Headlight dissappoints me. It would be nicer if it has a wider rectangular headlight similar to the Pan America or Road Glide.

The Sport Glide runs a 2 into 1 pipe, and the bags sit lower on the sport glide, and are still 2 different sizes. HD is not going to change the mold they are pressing these bags out of.

This bike is fine, if you're really short. I'm 6' 5" and found a Sport Glide much more comfortable for the seating footrest triangle. A Low Rider S had my knees near my chin. Yes, it's a smaller motor, yes, it's a smaller fork mounted fairing, yes, it 2 up seating, much like a basic Softail. And yes, it comes in colors too, besides gray and black. And yes, a Sport Glide comes with Cruise Control, a very nice feature to have, Standard. The Sport Glide is not a Canyon carver with a 30 degree rake, vs the 28 degree rake on the Low Rider S. I'd be more inclined to call it a Snoozer Glide. It's a laid back Cruiser with inverted forks.

Being an older rider, eyes not as good as they use to be, I shy away from their "minimalistic digital gauge" it's a complete show- stopper for me. Sadly, the bike does look awesome, but wouldn't even give it a option. So current models force me into the Street or Road Glide ST

No! I would not trade in my SG for one reason...that fairing just doesn't do it for me (ugly). Plus, I don't think it's quick disconnect like the SG.

Sad to see the Sport Glide go. It had cruise control, seating for two with pegs. Easily adjustable rear suspension, right by your right leg, for when that big girl jumps on. I liked the smaller fairing and the wheels were way nicer on the SG. To much black unless that's your thing. The bronze wheels 👎 Nice motor... til next year.

They were out there in November, 2022, but mostly dealers gouging exhorbitant fees on top of the price for them. I found a 2018 in Twisted Cherry Red for a good price.

I bought a new 84 1/2 FXRT. I put about 100,000 miles on that thing. I decided to sell it because I had a 20 year old car and 4 kids. Sacrificed and wish I still had it. As I remember, everybody hated the faring. I’ve owned a bunch of bikes (I’m 69 years old) and that FXRT was probably the best one. Glad to see a similar design. That was first year for Evo motor.

Low Rider ST I saw it in person... Actually liked it way more than I expected! I think I've invested too much into my 2018 Breakout 117 Stage 4 to trade it in though. Plus I have a lot of other bikes, including a 19 Street Glide Special with 117 Stage 4 and Boom Audio Stage 2. Backed myself into a corner when I decided to keep these two bikes for life and went for broke customizing them. Decisions, decisions...

The Sport Glide came stock with a 2-1 love my bike & color. I do like the new fairing and style of the bike. I’m someone that goes a different route with my choice of HD. I came to the HD family in 2003 when I bought the Vrod a bike that was fantastic. The HD family we’re polite but treated me like I was crazy for digging the engine and style. I’ve owned Sportsters, Street Glide, Wide Glide, Ultra, 2018 Fat Bob and now a 2020 Sport Glide. I had the bags painted ( HD did that on the 2021 model). Now getting to my thoughts, the LRST is sweet but I have to take my loving wife into consideration. On my bike I added the Sundowner seat, new bars, Stage 2, floorboards, heel toe shifter, 12” smoked Freedom Shield, all the other usual (Ride Free) collection. The LRST is sweet but for now I’m happy with my bike but I can’t wait for a test ride…. Nice video! New sub😎

Good review, I would like to test ride one but definitely not trading in my 2020 Sport Glide. I HATE the 1970's fairing, also don't care for mid controls as they get in my way when my feet are down. I also don't like the Tee Bars, looks dumb and are to narrow.

I like the bike, but hat gauge cluster is horrendous. That and the different size bags look stupid. Other than that I'm sure its a great bike. If I owned a sport glide, I'd probably trade it in.

This bikes price doesn't make sense. All it has is a front faring and 2 small saddlebags. I believe the roadglide standard is only a couple thousand dollars more. The Road Glide has and infotainment system, speaker's GPS, and a bunch of safety controls such as ABS and rain mode. Also it has saddlebags that are larger ans a bigger faring and a bigger tank.

Only one bike is better then the Low Rider S, and its the ST for being also a custom cruiser sport tourer. I think I could live with Asymmetry as it is, but after fitting a two into one I would try to level that right bag. It is not like Harley's is famous for its symmetry, even the engine is not.

I can't get over all the complaining about the right bag being smaller. There are a lot of things about a Harley that aren't symmetrical. I suppose that air cleaner sticking way out of the right side is also a no-go... That actually does bother me a bit, but it's OK. How about the exhaust itself, it's only on one side. My Ultra had pipes on both sides, pipes on only one side is a major catastrophy! The belt is only on one side, and how about the rear brake, it's asymetrical! The right bag is purpose-built to accommodate the exaust, which is on only one side. I think it looks appropriate and is a cool deisgn feature that gives you extra space in the left side bag. Ask my wife, she gets the right bag on our ST. Oh bad example, she wishes the right bag was as big as the left one, but to make them symmetrical, with the dual exhaust, they'd have had to make the left side smaller, which would have been a BAD thing, especially when you're packing for a trip. I appreciate the extra space they give you in the left bag.

The price to 117 my wife’s sportglide, is the same as fees and taxes on a LR ST. The dual disk fronts end is nice, but the rake of the sportglide performs better at high speed long highway rides. If you have to pay a dealer mark up it should be about the same price as a color matched FXR fairing.. so at this moment in time I think it’s a zero sum game either way… however wait for the second shipment of the year or pick up a 2023 I think swapping out is worth the money.

Nice looking bike but I can't help looking at it and picturing it with the Kraus inverted front end with their risers and fly Moto bars. Ohlins on the rear. Feuling oil pump , camplate and lifters with a Bassani mid length 2 in one stainless exhaust for starters. I'm on my fourth Harley and every time I fully customize them. A lot of money I know but hey, being single means I can trick out the bike as opposed to tricking out my kitchen. Nice addition to the line up and a great starting point.

It’s not even really noticeable in person if you don’t stop the conversation and point it out. To me it actually makes sense to have a smaller bag on the right side either way, so that if and when you do load up the weight is better balanced. I guess they have to find something not to like lol

I feel like hd is just using existing fairings they had lying around just like they’re using the existing tanks instead of making ones that don’t have the channel running down the middle from moving the gauges and replacing it with an ugly blank piece of plastic. Cutting corners as usual while charging ridiculous amount for speakers. Love the looks and performance (fairing could’ve been much better if they decided to design one from the ground up) but not worth the money.

The new faring was a ground up design. Lots of time in the wind tunnel. It's amazing on the road, blocks wind as good or better than a bat wing. Now if they could just design a better windshield... Stock shield is not good at all, and the accessory 10" is fine when there is no crosswind (cause it's too narrow). Faring is great though, just big enough to keep you out of the wind, with no buffeting. Even keeps most of the wind off your legs. Looks of it is subjective, still not 100% sold on that 80's look personally, but it grows on you. Bat wing and Road Glide farings not exactly pieces of fine art either. The worst not fixable thing about this bike to me, coming off a '17 Ultra, is the solid mount motor, the buzz gets tiring after a few hours. Low Rider ST owner.

I've been on the fence to trade my 2021 Sport Glide for a LRST. I'm interested in seeing the thoughts of anyone that has done this trade, was it worth it?

It's up to you.... If you limit most of your ride to 1 hour or less, a LRST might be worth it, or if you ride a lot of twisties all the time. If you just cruise, or you're going to do weekend trips that are 2 or more hours ride each way, keep the Sport Glide.

Love the bike but hate the bags and he digital display, the 117 engine means nothing to me, i would a preferred a larger Rev Max engine in it. I already have a 2021 SGS, 2014 Wide Glide & 2009 Rocker C so im not in the market for another bike and probably wont be until a larger Rev Max engine goes into a touring bike

The bags have been over-discussed, but the display - it's small and not what we're used to, but you know, it tells you all the same stuff and is very readable, even in bright sunlight. It's fine. Would prefer old school gauges but just like a phone, a huge amount of relevant data can be / is put into smaller, more convenient spaces these days. I thought I would dislike that display (this is my 13th Harley and they all have had big ole 1950's looking gauges) but after 1000 miles now on my ST, the display is not an issue at all.

i've been a Lowrider owner since the 1st one the 77 FXS, and i ride a 2014 1/2 FXDL Lowrider Now, and that thing is Butt ass Ugly and the speedo and tach belong on the tank !! that's a Lowrider

The FLSB and the FXLRST are two completely different Bikes you shouldnt compare.... Both have their very own use!

@@DeterminedVeteran They are not both Sport Touring Bikes. The Sport Glide is a typical Softail with more comfort and a light and Sporty feel(107Ci) such as classic seating position with comfortable handlebars. Its very low and light and has forward controls and detachable Touring equipment. The Low Rider ST is a performance bagger/sport touring Softail. Its much higher, a little heavier, has a frame mounted fairing and is made for performance (117Ci) and not at all for comfort with those high mid controls and the high risers giving you that west coast club style feeling. These two bikes dont have anything in common except for those hardcase saddlebags.

@@pedronetomoreira They are still not realy comparable. Sportglide: Low, comfortable, the much slower 107Ci Engine, detachable fairing and saddlebags, comfortable footbards. The FLSB is for people who dont need much power or sound and who like it comfortable with the option to convert it to a classic cruiser look. Low Rider ST: the "ST" stands for "Sport Touring". The FXLRST is for people who like the West Coast Club style and performance. The much faster and louder 117CI engine, not detachable and bigger FXR Fairing with the option to install speakers, higher club style risers with a more forward leaned handlebar position, a higher and less comfortable solo seating position, mid controls with footpegs for a more sporty and aggressive feel and more control while riding. Before you choose between two completely different bikes by watching videos... just ask your local dealer if you can test ride both bikes. Good luck and have fun 🤘🏻

Great job, I’m really tossing it around on this bike! Just not sure how comfortable it will be on long trips compared to a Road Glide or Street Glide considering the riding position and smaller mid-controls. All that said it sure does look cool and probably performs great in the twisties!🤷🏼‍♂️

Agree regarding long ride Comfort. My buddy with the sport glide says they need a Lowrider GT. Heated grips slightly higher bars extended controls and floorboards. Sixth son out of Denver Colorado called it the Lowrider GT.

Awesome video! I think HD hit a home run with this one. Obviously you can’t make everyone happy but overall I think its what people have wanted. I can’t remember a bike that had this much hype. I think this thing is really going to sell.

If they were going to sell so well, HD wouldn't have given a 2022 and a 2023 to Thrashin Supply. Instead, they wanted him to show how a ST could be customized right along side all the Road Glides and Street Glides. HD has boat loads of Street Glides and Road Glides on dealership inventory on the floors. Boat Loads.

Got to sit on one at the speedway and it's killer man an better in person ...bag situation is weird buuuuuuut fxrspeed and some other 2 into 1 pipes have a hard kick up on the end ...I actually got to see one in our shop already putting one on and it closes the gap ...they seem to have been looking at Moonshine and fueling coming out with there ridiculous $3,000 2 into 1 pipe 😅🤣 that fits perfectly into making the bag look Even 🤔 but who is paying 3 k for 2 into 1 lol ...might dump my other two harelys in a year or two when the hype dies down ..(cough cough BTW Commiforna has been unloading them for $34k ......let that sink in 34k ...then Texas followed and so did AZ at alot of the dealerships ...Seen slips with my own eyes ......BUY IT BECAUSE it's limited haha Corp says it's not there will be Tons ...just wait ....) No one needs to feed into the economic disaster of paying 5 times what something is worth because we will never come down for this bs ....economic professors are banging there heads trying to tell people to stop feeding the bs pricing will come down but it never will if people don't wake up lol bike is amazing but even at mine in Central FL no one I know will walk out with a 27k lowerider out the door when you can get a full touring chasis with way more to offer ....prices and dealers need to stay MSRP dealers ....#LowriderST #Oleinsshocks 🤣

the bags do not come with a longer option for the right side.....I had a sport glide before I have the ultra I have now. I had put v/h big radius pipes on it and tried for months to find a bigger bag for the right side and it isn't available if you measure the bags out the left is also wider as well as being taller as well and my ocd hated every last bit of that. If I still had my sport glide I would have traded for it though for sure. low rider st. ohlins shocks.

Them sport glide bags are fucking weak. Don’t look aggressive at all. They should have at least put a sportster s gauge on that aftermarket risers could mount to. The fairing is meh especially with no boom boom coming stock. Harley short cutted for cost savings clearly.

I believe Harley missed the mark with this bike. its to close to the low rider s . what Harley should have done is make the low rider s with a 117 motor and upgraded the sport glide to 117. i really thing the fairing on this bike is ugly and not proportional to the bike. if I ever did trade my sport glide to the low rider st i would lose the fairing and get like a road warrior instead and i would switch to forward controls. another bummer about this bike is the fact that its a single seat and with no passenger pegs. it is a touring bike and should have been made in a two up setting . so to answer your question ' i would not rush to change my sport glide for this bike . it is a shame they took the sport glide off manufacture instead of upgrading it .

Whether or not Harley Davidson missed the mark on this bike the sport glide just didn’t sell. There are 21 deposits for the Lowrider ST alone at San Diego Harley Davidson. Also none of the ST models have 2 up seating because this is a performance based line which is also why they do not have forward controls. HD is going to sell a ton of these bikes.

@Determined Veteran copy that! Having ridden dirt bikes then metric street bikes till 2015 I like the mid better then forward, with mids you can put your feet mid/forward/and back. With forward controls I have a hard time finding the rear pegs.
