As an owner of an OG M2 LCI I humbly say i absolutely love this car. The N55 sounds so much better than the comp and I bought it over one for purely that reason.
@@DevGambit I bought it November last year 2023, 1 owner from new, 25,800 miles. It was from a performance car & prestige dealership though, so I paid top price. I did get a little off the asking price, and a free ceramic coating.
@@DjNikGnashers yeah umm yours definitely is much better then mine mileage wise and stuff, I got mine from a dealership but it’s high mileage has been concerned for the longevity of the car, it seems in great condition other then a 2 scratched on the rear which aren’t terrible. I’m just unsure of how long it will hold up, I’ve heard of kept up to date and maintain the N55 platform is pretty solid
@@DevGambit The N55 is pretty reliable mate. Long as you keep it serviced and don't use shit quality oil and filters, I can't see why it won't go way past 150k. I paid £28,749 probably at the top end of what they are worth.
*I'm the proud owner of a 2018 ///M2 LCI, and my passion for it remains as strong as ever. This car isn't just a vehicle; it's a continual love story. Since its purchase in 2018, the stereo has been almost redundant, as I'm captivated by the symphony of its grunts, growls, groans, and the lively snaps, crackles, and pops. It's by far the most sonically dynamic engine I've experienced. For the ultimate thrill and driving pleasure, I prefer the windows down and stereo off, immersing myself in its raw essence. It's a race car reimagined for the streets. With the addition of the DINAN exhaust package, it now resonates with the exhilarating echoes of Laguna-freakin'- Seca.*
Amazing video and thank you for pointing out all the changes with the m2og LCI. A lot of buyers aren’t aware and this is a true M car. I prefer it over the m2c.
N55 is pretty robust aside from small minor issues that are fixable by you easily. The n55b in the m2 inherited forged internals from the m2comp so it’s even better.
2:55 sounds like compressor stall. If that car is tuned you may want to upgrade the waste gate to a gfb or equivalent. Could be just my headphones but it sure sounded like surge. With that being said this is top 3 my favorite cars of all time and it will be always worth owning no matter what M car BMW puts out.
As a better looking car out of the box and if you like to mess around kicking the back end out.. then yes the F87 is better than the G87 M2. Where the G87 out excels the F87 M2 is chassis dynamics and this makes the G87 a better track car.
I would love to drive the new one I’ve been hearing that they’re pretty different in that the new one is more serious but less playful don’t know how to feel about that tbh
Imo unless you really want an s55 I would get the lci. It has a little less power but you can remedy that with a tune pretty easily. And the n55 sounds better imo. I haven’t driven the comp but to me the lci has more than enough power stock to be really really fun.
I drove both back to back the m2c and lci m2 and I left last week driving home a mint condition 2018 Alpine white LCI fully loaded with every option and 6spd manual. Even had the executive pack and m drivers performance pack with all the carbon fiber goodies. Both cars were around the same price. I like them both. But with that said I want to modify my car and I prefer to do it on the n55b. Getting 500whp in this car on 93 pump gas. If I got an s55 it would be only the M2CS. I do plan on getting the m2c seats, and carbon aluminum strut brace with steering tuning. I’m also getting the m2cs hood. I love the way this n55b30TO sounds and has the extra forged goodies from the s55. Just FBO and tune and you’ll make around 405 to the wheels which is no slouch but for me 500whp is my goal which will be happening very soon. It really wakes up the engine. For those dick waving guys who say the og m2 isn’t an M car is a joke. The chassis, motor, suspension are all still changed from the regular 2 series. It’s an amazing machine.
*I own the 2018 ///M2 LCI (and STILL love it just as much today) and all the videos I've watch on the M2 N55 vs the S58 Comp, it's a tossup, because the M2 Comp is much heavier than the LCI. So although the S58 has a bit more HP, it's not that much faster for the money difference. Just RU-vid search "BMW ///M2 N55 vs ///M2 Competition S55. There are some very good head to head comparisons out there. I LOVE my N55, most think is sounds WAY better than the S55 and I 100% agree. I would NOT upgrade to the S55 simply based on the fact that I just cannot get passed the shitty (in my opinion) sound of that S55.*
Yea but the og m2 is a more sought after track machine its not in an odd class that forces it to compete with cars that are all faster. As its not much faster than the OG m2 since it picked up nearly 200lbs but all it really has going for it is nicer buckets and m1/2 buttons. I will say though. Having driven both the s55 pulls super hard in higher revs. N55 definitely feels torquier. Lower end.
its literally not... it's prone to overheating on the track. and the comp has much better 6 pot brakes front and 4 pot rears as opposed to 4 and 2 on the OG. Comp is superior@@revengeof1307
@@S54VR6 didn’t say superior. Say sought 2 different things and they only get overheating if you can push the limits of that car they dont experience overheating until the oilpan withstands forced
