So what is the reason why you won’t be buying it…..I couldn’t figure from the vid…??

I would rather borrow £50,000 for 5 years at £1,000 a month and then own the car - admittedly second hand ! Option 2 most can afford a decent deposit so £10k deposit & borrow £40k = £839 month and you would own after 5 years - far better than £800 a month for 4 years (£38,400) and hand back. Great review as usual- fantastic looking car👍👍😁

Imagine paying £799 pm, for 4 years and then just handing it back and walking away 😮 pcp ain't for me. But each to their own.

No matter what way you cut it the M2 is a stunning drivers car. The M3 and M3 touring is just too much money and power for the road, BMW should just bite the bullet and make a M2 touring, I want to see that!

This BMW is about the best I have owned plenty of useable power Manual gearbox it is great. Push M2 button makes great sound. 20 around town if having fun 30 on the motorway. It is the new meeting the old A rapid e46 m3 . Great we just need better roads to use it on . Enjoy.

£800 a month and still wont own the car after 2 years. BMW you can keep it. Ill stick with my 2006 Audi A4. Thats £0 a month and after 2 years it will still be mine. New cars are sooooo over priced. G80 grill is still ugly AF. They said it would grow on me. It hasn't. On the other hand, I loved the look of the G87 from day one.

Bmw need to make a proper dashboard, looks like oversized mobile phones has been stuck on it. New VW golf the same. Trying to look like an ev dashboard and trying to condition you to ev's.

I met you at petrolheadism with my son (the lad that said he saw you in our home village) top guy spending a few mins having a proper chat with him rather than like most, trying to get away fast as possible after a quick grumble at their followers. You were probably my son’s highlight of the day. Be cool if you wanted to do a video on our car the new m2 track pack etc and the center exhausts etc etc, happy to meet a track for the day.

If if your gonna splash that much dosh on a bemmer id buy Alpina. People will think your a bit more sophisticated and not a total knob.

Best thing I found from a G80 vs my F87 m2 DCT comp was that the DCT is perfect for pushing it on track but jerky day to day and fast on road. The ZF is better for day to day fast road driving. But lacks a bit on track I tried reaching out when I owned a G42 M240i to try and get you to do a driver of video and let you try out the latest gen M Lite but never got a reply 😢

Think of it this way as I did. It's £184:38 a week to borrow this car from BMW that is £26:34 a day every day for 5 years. That, in my humble opinion, is nuts even for an M2.

There is a difference between liking something and something growing on you. The old M5 was hideous. It never grew on me. The current M3/M4 Grills are ugly, and it wasn't necessary. It ruined the look of the car. I've become accustomed to it, but it's still not attractive, hence folks buying kits to change the front of the car. The M2 grill isn't as bad to me as the M3/M4, but still not attractive. BMW makes cars that are polarizing, and they do it intentionally it seems. It would be better if they made good looking cars versus polarizing, but I think we are stuck with this for a while. The new M5 isn't great either, but less offensive than others.

Nah the G8X M3/4 is still ugly. A buck toothed beaver. the G87 is just *less* ugly.

How tall are you by the way ? I'm thinking of getting an M2 but I'm tall. Did you feel comfortable driving it ? How was the head room ?

The only decent looking G series cars are the Z4, M4, and m8xx. Everything else is absolute garbage design-wise, and don't get me started on the massive Apple tablet that takes up the whole dashboard. THAT is CHEAP!

I compromised and bought an m235i GC. 30 k for a 6 month old. 300bhp, 4 doors. Pretty comfy. Enough power for UK roads.

rather buy a 19 plate mercedes gt 4 dr , twice the car and value for money

It has the grace and shape of a brick , you expect square sponge bob to come out of it , not a fan of this BMW phase in general . It’s lost in terms of identity and design.

My biggest issue with the M2 is the size of the fuel tank. 200 miles on a full tank is woeful.

I’m sorry, but I’ve just out an order in for a new M2 coming in September. As someone who sells cars yourself, you know full well the monthly cost and the car can be had for a much lower cost. Having had the G82 M4, and now getting the M2 after having one on loan for a week. I can honestly say the M2 is a more enjoyable and fun little car! Can not wait to get it

Don’t like the interior and exterior. BMW has lost it with these new line of models. Mercedes also playing the ugly game. Audi also comes with models uglier then the previous ones. I’m sure their marketing managers doing this on purpose so they can facelift it afterwards.

Euro cars from July 2024 will have speed limiters fitted as standard by EU regulations. England wouldn't have gotten them, but Sunak wants them. Hopefully, it's not the GPS limiters but can also be buzzer or restricted throttle.

IMO, it looks ugly. It's literally Sid from Ice age. I was one of the people who actually liked the M3/M4 with the massive grilles straight away as well. This is just wrong, and looks like 2 different teams designed the front and back. Not for me. I'd rather get the BMW Supra.
