Growing up I always preferred and owned the slim revisions of PlayStation consoles (PS2 Slim & PS3 Slim) but ever since the PS4, I feel like Sony just nailed it right off the bat with the OG models of the PS4 & PS5. I’m more than content with my OG PS5 Digital Edition. It’s my favorite console design, I never minded the size of it, and I just think it’s a much cleaner and more seamless design than the new revision. I might look into that sweet new stand for it though. Great video Fowler. 💯

You do need the stand as there are vents under the system that need air flow from running the console and come long term that’ll probably bite a lot of people in the butt if they don’t use the stand vertically. But if any of you decide to wanna do that at your own risk then hey by all means you do you but that is why I heavily disagree with using the ps5 without the stand. But loved the showcase though TF!

I’ve always had ps slim models. They always look better. I just bought a digital edition in the summer and I bought multiple color plates and I got custom painted plates and a 4tb internal Ssd. I really want the new slim but I bet Sony is coming with the pro next year so I’ll be waiting. Great vid bro

going to get the slim digital. will add the disc drive a month or two later, still need to finish days gone/ dirt 4 and 5 etc. plus the last of us and enough to finish cave story on the switch.

Yes it is worth it compared to the OG Digital Edition ONLY extra storage, option to add disc drive (later than sooner…can even add to the birthday/Christmas wishlist lol), better portability and cheaper. $399 is impossible these days in America so SOL.

What would be better getting the slim and getting a game bundle and spending extra 30 on a stand or go with the og PS5 then you have to buy the game you want that would com with the slim editions and upgrade the hard drive so overall saving money would to be buying the slim edition and buy the stand

@@ratchet2007 I disagree. I like the look of the Digital Edition V2, but I wouldn’t trade my Digital Edition V1 for it. I’m not crazy about the double paneled plates on each side and how half of each plate is glossy while the other is mismatched with matte. Plus, the newer PS5 models have been tested to have worse cooling than the OG models. The PS5 V2 isn’t bad by any means, and if I didn’t already have one, I’d go for it. Since I’ve got the choice though, I’d rather stick with what I’ve got.

@@DVRKSTXR Idk why you call it PS5 V2 instead of Slim thats really confusing. Personally I like the glossy+matte mix the first ps4 had the same look and i loved it. cant say much about cooling except that I never had issues with it on my digital slim. Ive heard they're using different types of fans on the slim consoles so maybe I just have one of the better ones

@@ratchet2007 Because it’s not a slim. Not like the PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim, and PS4 Slim models were. It’s smaller but somehow the new PS5 (disc model) has a 40% fatter hump than the older model does.

The digital is worth it because you can then purchase the disc drive separately at a store which is selling it for a cheap price

yeah definitely digital without the stand. I mean the whole point of getting the digital version, other than the price, is to save space. I don't trust Sony's disc drives. My PS5's stopped working after using it a few times (most of my games were digital). Had to replace it and cost me £50 and 2 hours of my time.

Putting the Call Of Duty PS5 Slim next to the PS Portal, might give people the wrong impression and make them believe that they can play competitive FPS games on the Portal.....which, it indeed can NOT do lol.

Getting the PS5 slim is pointless at this time. The PS5 Pro will come out this Winter holliday season 2024. I already have an original PS5 digital system. I have compared side to side with online pictures of the disc vs digitial and was like well the digital looks way better, the disc one looks un-universal looking and I hate it. Sticking with my original PS5 digital edition until the PS5 Pro comes out.
