45 years ago I was on my bike when a drunk driver hit me. I was in the hospital for a month and couldn't play football again after that. Every few years after the accident I would go to a motorcycle shop, test ride and always find myself not ready to ride again. Fast forward 45 years I buy a brand new Ryker. I'm still nervous and a have a fear but your videos and signing up for the riding class has helped me face that fear. My class is in two weeks and my bike will be delivered Wednesday. I've already read the class manual and watched every video I could find. I've purchased many of the mods you've done so until my class I can at least do the mods and sit in the garage and play like I'm riding :) There is a parking lot very near my house that I could push or trailer the ryker and just practice so I'm considering that. I know at some point I will need to get on the road and I know I can do that. Once again, thanks for the videos, they are an inspiration.
You may want to join a riding group too. I'm so sorry that drunk driver did that to you. I admire your strength and your desire to get on the road again. You can do it! Cheering you on!
Thank you Michael for sharing your story. I admire you for your willingness to try again. It is very time consuming to make these videos, and for pennies. Comments like yours, make so proud. If my videos encouraged you in any way, then it’s all been worth it. Follow your passion, trust in yourself. RIDE SAFE brother!! ❤️
Thank you for this! I just got my Ryker and I was worried about the clunk! Glad it’s nothing to be concerned about and glad there’s something I can do to avoid it!
Is this your first bike? I’d suggest on riding early on weekend mornings or in parks until you get used to it. How soon depends greatly on your comfort level. Don’t rush it.
Beth, I hear a noise like a fender rubbing a tire. My son swears it’s the belt hitting housing, it’s on the left side and I don’t think it’s the air intake. It’s got almost 13000 miles on it. Not sure if the belt had ever been changed. It goes away at high speeds. Do you think I should put a new belt on spark plugs ? I changed the oil today, and 2 new k/n air filters. Your videos are life savers for us in TN + VA. No Rykers really here yet. Side by sides and 4 wheelers everywhere!
Hi Richard. Thank you for your kind words!! As far as the noise is concerned, it’s almost impossible to diagnose without seeing/hearing it in person. (And I am NOT a mechanic). Buy, most likely it is the belt, which should be changed every 12K miles, so you are due. It’s a big job, but I’m sure you can handle it. See if that solves your problem. If you are having problems with your belt, you shouldn’t ride it, until it gets fixed. Best way to eliminate the clunk when going forward or reverse is to put your foot on the brake while in forward or reverse, then slowly give it some throttle. Let off the throttle, take your foot off the brake, and give it some throttle again. The driveline clunk will be unnoticeable.
Hi, advice please? My Rykers transmission is very “juddery” and rattles and makes an awful knocking noise when I am moving slowly, such as in a traffic jam.. I am not talking about the “Clunk” when you first apply power. This is juddering and it continues until I apply power. Any advice appreciated from the UK!
did you find the solution? it seems that my ryker does the same thing... I thought it was during under revs... when I back up slowly or accelerate slowly I also have this jerky effect.
@@RykerRydesi too have that issue on my wofes ryker, when accelerating slowly it makes a clunking jerky sound but after accelerating a little bit more it goes away and stays away while riding. Only does it on reverse and foreward when starting to apply throttle
Hello there! Lately I have an issue with the belt, by launching slowly it shakes and hits the cover as it want to get out. Now i'm almost sure that at least one roller of the secondary clutch is broken bequase i found a piece of it on my yard. Is it possible that this causes the issue?
hey how are you doing? just got a notice of a recall on my 2021 ryker about wiring harnness under the fenders the wireing may rub on the tires and short out the whole system (vss) and wont start after this happens!
Hi Nick, I apologize for the late response. But I wanted to get my bike done first, so I could answer you properly. They only tuck away the existing wire harness underneath your fenders. If your wires are stripped from rubbing against the tire, then they will replace it. My record is a 2019. I never had a problem with the wiring. But they still talked it away for the recall. Hope this helps.
Yes I have heard good things about the pedal commander. I personally feel like the Ryker has plenty of power, so never really thought about getting one.
