I'm not sure where I stand on the shroud, but it is hard to argue it's unique characteristics that none have yet been able to reproduce. Very enjoyable video.

I have had a powerful spiritual experiences when learning about the contemplating the shroud of Turin. I had a very strong witness from the holy spirit that when I was looking at the shroud of Turin I was looking at the face of my Lord. Tears actually streamed down my face and I felt a burning sensation in my heart.
@GrammaJo360
@GrammaJo360 Месяц назад
I had the same feelings when I saw it a few years ago when it came into public view. I had that witness even though at that time they said it couldn't be authentic because when they tested fibers at that time it was too recent. Then it was shown that the part tested was from an area of repairs. Still gives me goosebumps to look at the savior as if it was a photo.

Great job man! I remember learning about the Shroud back in the 90's as a teenager. One of my mentors in my home ward asked me if I thought it was real. I couldn't help but say yes. He agreed with me. I can't forget that conversation and as I'm typing this, I can see the scene clearly. He is RISEN!

I remember Pres Hinkley during the filming of “The Testaments”, and the council of 12, being certain to follow all revelation on certain aspects of the presentation being put forth in this film. Very direct. At that moment as the camera shows the shroud, folded and placed at the foot of the final resting area, the shroud was as bright a white cloth as could be found in the region. It’s was made brighter as proof to all that saw it that this was used by the Son of God. That’s the reason it was portrayed in that manner. Personally, the whiteness, I feel matches all appearances of heavenly beings in this modern age as well. So, it may be the cloth used to drape Jesus having been taken from the cross, but, after they cleaned and prepared the Savior for burial, that would be the cloth touching Jesus as he was resurrected. Someone probably couldn’t bring themselves to dispose of the first cloth and now is how the shroud is possible. If ever we see that second cloth, it should look quickened. We may never know and that’s ok. You can’t walk by faith and know all the answers. Fascinating stuff.

I remember when the report came out that it was a forgery. To me it seemed too easily dismissed, and I've kept an open mind ever since. This new information is wonderful. The 3D rendering of his face and body is amazing and sobering. Just as I thought he might have looked. My vote would tend to possibly seeing the resurrection, because wouldn't rigor mortis affect the arms too? Anyway, excellent post!

Cloths' not Cloth. I would expect that this cloth is authentic in that it was created sometime after Christ crucifixion maybe 300-400 AD using someone else as a model. Our ancestors were more cleaver that we think.

The Shroud of Turin has been studied *tens of thousands of hours* by many dozens of scientists and doctors they have proven *100%* that it contained the body of a beaten, scourged, crucified man that was wearing a crown of thorns while on the cross and that it dates back to Biblical times. They cannot say 100% that it wrapped the body of Jesus Christ but no one with any common sense at all is going to think that it contained anyone other than him. And only a true ignoramus is going to believe that someone 1700 years ago was smart enough to have faked it. Get real.
@onlyme972
@onlyme972 Месяц назад
No and here's why, the bible says the body was wrapped in two clothes not one , one would have been wrapped tightly around the body the other according to the scripture was placed around the head. It should be obvious that the "shroud" isn't as described in the bible. The church records many "shrouds" in the 14th century displayed in churches as devotional objects. Truth should always take priority over grifting from genuine believers.
@Lamanitehistory

The cloth for the head is a separate cloth. A candidate for that cloth is called the sudarium and can be seen online if you search for it. I never said that the shroud was the "only" cloth associated with the burial.

Here on RU-vid, check out _Sudarium of Oviedo_ and your question will be answered. And sure, there have been many burial shrouds over the years but you need to remember that it was *proven* by many dozens of doctors, scientists, archeologists, and other highly trained researchers and *tens of thousands of hours* of examinations that the Shroud most definitely wrapped the body of a severely beaten, scourged and crucified man that was wearing a crown or cap of thorns when he died. Very few people out there, other than atheists, are quite dumb enough to believe that this was someone other than Jesus Christ.

⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️The shroud contradicts the Bible. Jesus Christ long before he was born he exited as a Spirit and there was no need for him to trap himself in a body. God is a Spirit and not a physical body. Period! The Bible teaches: “God is a Spirit” (John 4:24 KJV) Of course God can do anything he wishes, but there was no need for him to be forced into possess and forever associated with a body. Also, the nature of God and how resurrection should be viewed are both explained by the Bible and no shroud and no one can alter that. After the crucifixion, Christ had appeared in all kinds of different ways, from a Gardner, to a bright light, to some stranger and so on. The fact that he had appeared so many different ways to his closest friends and associates and they could not recognize him for the most part does prove that he can appear however he likes, but they don’t prove or change or contradict the unchanging essential nature of God and the fact that “God is a Spirit”. As for Thomas, the gospels do not say that Thomas had actually touched Jesus. But even if he did, that does not change the facts that I have already mentioned. The resurrection of Jesus just like the resurrection of other characters in the Bible should be viewed spiritually and not physically!

1st Corinthians 15 42-44 If there is a natural body [ ours on earth [ There is also a spiritual body ours in Heaven also referred to a ressurected or glorified body it is a body made out of light Gods glory I have seen one with my own eyes
@JeanSmith-sz4uu
@JeanSmith-sz4uu Месяц назад
@@brucedon1951 The glorified body is just another term for the soul or spirit! The soul is invisible and no physical sensory can perceive the soul, however for Christ he can appear however he wishes, but these appearances cannot contradict the essence of God which is explained by the authority of the Bible to be “a Spirit”. Anything that contradicts that is man made. Scripture cannot have internal contradictions. If the Bible says that “God is a Spirit” and not a physical body, and now Christians are desperately trying to focus on the physical body of Jesus, then that’s a contradiction. Jesus Christ himself emphasize on the importance of his own Spirit and the utter nothingness of his own body (flesh): “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you-they are full of the Spirit and life.” (John 6:63 NIV) So “the flesh counts for nothing”!!! In other words the physical body has no importance at all. But His Spirit (“the words I have spoken to you”)--those are what’s important and should be considered. It is Christ’s words that are account as the Spirit and life! It is the words of Christ that resurrects one from the tomb of ignorance and death and not some kind of body. After the crucifixion, Jesus Christ simply went back to His original essence which is His Spirit. That eternal Spirit had appeared in different ways to His disciples. As for you having personal experiences, I have had personal experiences too! But that does not overrides the fundamental teachings of the Bible. Between my experiences and your experiences and all that is being propagated about the shroud, none of them can override the authority of the sacred texts of the Bible. The Bible is the divine scale by which truth and falsehood are determined and finalized!
