just an info for the curios: The MK23 is supposed to be big. It was designed to be a gun for agents operating behind enemy lines that need something with more power than a small concealable pistol.
Too add to that side arms in the military are typically defensive side arms. The mk 23 was specifically designed to be a offensive side arm per the design requirements. The gun is 100% designed to take the fight to the bad guy. Not a o crap my primary is down gun.
It's a good gun, the QC just sucked on the one I purchased. I had to file down the loading lug on the nozzle. It was rubbing against the magazine gas seal which caused the nozzle not to return completely causing a FTF and occasional trigger jams. After that it has performed lovely.
Really nice review. I recently got myself into airsoft and as my sidearm bought SSX23, only got to use it for few games due to COVID, but it really performs well, I find myself getting as many kills with it as with a sniper. This video just confirms that I've made the right decision. Cheers!
@@santi_super_stunts2573 I really liked it. Had a lot of pushback from few friends who were playing it for years, saying that it's a bad choice to begin with, but I guess it just suite's me. There is however a learning curve, that you must commit to, you will definitely catch things along the way and see a clear difference on how to play this role compared to when you start.
@@imberairsoft same for me. Got an AEG with my 11 year old son. First game out all day running and jumping, sliding. Front lines combat. Could walk a flight of stairs for over a week! Lol bought my buddies SSG10 and used that in my next game… fell in love. Sniping for this new guy was the best choice. Slow moving, stealth stalk… couldn’t have more fun.
Good Review. I already have this gun and agree on the trigger pull. I hate it. I will try your fix and hope that makes it better. I really like the gun but would have considered not buying it base on the trigger pull. I bought your unicorn speed loader cap. It was very expensive for what it is but it works great! So there's good and bad. Knock the price down a couple of $$ you may sell significantly more volume and actually make more money. I would have bought a second one if they were cheaper. You could try a sale and see how it goes. I also bought the 2.0 hop up adjuster with the pro mount but have not installed it yet on my SSG10. Have high hopes base on the positive reviews I have read.
Thanks for the input. Right now we keep the price higher because we don't have the capacity to produce them 2-3 times as much as we already do. But have plans to move the unicorn adapter into injection molding during the next year and that would drive the price down for sure.
Good review. Really torn between the SSP18 and the SSX23, as I'm a sniper. I've never owned a full auto airsoft gun before tho, so it would be nice to have the SSP18 for that reason - would open up new playstyles for me. But on the other hand, I'll still want to snipe most of the time...
I have both, and I feel like it all comes down to your play style. For when I want to be super quiet and sneaky I use the SSX23. When I want to we super aggressive mobile I will use the SSP18.
I will have my SSP18 delivered in a few days but exactly what this guy said. Hard to compare but I feel like both are gonna be best options - SSX23 for sneaky style and SSP18 in loud, fast and full-auto style.
As faithful to your current brilliant designs, especially the TDC 2.0 which has worked wonderfully, I am very excited about this folding stock. Can you do a mailing list/pre-order page?
Well done great review. Can’t wait for that carbine. Any idea of a price range ?? I have been thinking about getting the ssx303 but it is very expensive considering it is just the ssx23 with a stock. Well done
Nice video! I put the €20 off code in yesterday and it worked but didn't get time to actually buy the ssx23 yesterday and tried today and it's not valid 🙁
@@TRIDOS.DESIGN ok I really don't want to sound like a nerd that calls people out on dumb stuff but there's no such thing as a silencer only a suppressor because no suppressor makes a gun silent
I got this gun and am kinda new to airsoft. Does it need cleaning every while, and if so I do I clean it? Edit: Do yall ship the Unicorn Pistol mag adapter to the US
Yes, it's a good practice to clean the barrel once every few games. Check out the academy videos on Novritsch website - it goes over the maintenance and cleaning of the gun ;). And yes, we do ship but they are also available on Evike.com - www.evike.com/products/21163/
I was dissapointed when my package arrive, the fiber optics were sloppy and roughly cut and there was blue tape wrapped around the trigger and trigger guard that took an hour to get off and it damaged the paint job
Yeah, the optics are quite shitty as I mentioned in the video. Regarding the paint job - are you referring to the two tone version that is required for some countries?
I was about to order one from the stealth package for the black friday deals but says they are unable to ship airsoft guns to my address but I cannot figure out why :( Was really looking forward to owning one of these
@@TRIDOS.DESIGN Haha, super fast reply! Just sent them a ticket a second ago, hoping I can still get one before they're sold out! Awesome video by the way, I didn't even know those speedloader adapters existed. Definitely picking one up if I'm able to get my hands on this bad boy.
I didn't get my hands on one since I don't do much dark playing and the BB's were available only in 0.28 but since Novritsch has now 0.32's I'm planning to get my hands on one soon.
I like your reviews, but sometimes you describe some parts as if they were novritsch's choice. The magazine release is the same in the original pistol from H&K , it's not a feature to have an opinion on, it is what it is, if you don't like the model, don't buy the gun... (it's not a critic to you, it's a general observation to anyone who wants to buy the gun). As a tip on future reviews, it would be great to first research on the original gun the replica is inspired on, and then describe how many things the airsoft counterpart has in common, plus, better or worse features that it has in comparison to other pistols replicating such model. Anyway, overall it's a great job !!
Thanks for the feedback! To be fair - this is not a comparison video. It's a review aimed at beginners / players who don't have experience with this exact platform and therefore doesn't know anything about this or other MK23 variants. I do my reviews from my point of view - a casual player who has had no experience with a NBB / silenced pistol and who's coming from a casual GBB pistol. This was my first green gas pistol and my first MK23 based pistol and that's how I reviewed it. There are pretty good 1:1 comparison videos with other brands if that's what you're looking for.
And regarding the mag release - it's absolutely a detail on this platform that you can have opinion about it. I know it's not a feature but it's one of the things that is completely different from other pistols therefore it's good to know what to expect.
@@TRIDOS.DESIGN Of course it is a feature to be described, and you will only find it in this platform, but somehow, when you mention it, it seems to the viewer as if Novritsch had placed such release due to his own criteria, when technically, the platform comes with the release system, that's why I suggested that it is constructive to point out which features correspond to the original H&K platform so it helps claryfying that, they are not there beause of an arbitrary decision, but because they are the adaptation from a real weapon to an airsoft gun. Even if the public are new airsofters or experienced ones, I believe including more details relating the real guns to the airsoft versions can help increase (even more so ) the quality of your content. Independently, it was just a small detail and overall they are great Reviews !! I'll definitely follow you channel :)
Also , I hope I didn't come out as too critic, I just wanted to give few tips to a fellow airsofter. I apologise if it came out wrong or it sounded rude
@@josecarvajal1063 Haha... no worries. I totally got your point, just wanted to let you know why I did this review without doing much comparing to other guns - which I totally agree that some people would like to see aswell. Point taken. Rock on!
During the summer time I get about 3-4 mags worth with one gas fill. I've run this pistol with several games + done some testing for development and my first can of greengas is still going strong.
Haven't tried it so don't know how well it works. General consensus in community is that "it's dumb to buy GBB pistol and then silence it, just get a NBB" but I have no personal experience trying that so don't know how true that is.
@@TRIDOS.DESIGN Yeah I would like to fight my friends but I dont wan to hurt them wit 1.1 Jule. We normally play with 0.5 because we are starters. Thank you for your answer! Do you know how to make it be 0.8?
Do you believe you could use this pistol fully specced out as your primary? XD Cuz there's currently black Friday sale and I'm thinking of buying the SSX23 tactical bundle on Novritsch's website cuz it's actually cheaper than buying an just an AEG without any add ons.
what carbine kit are you using? Btw drilling the holes for the bottom rail is the easiest thing ever, I don't see how anybody with the brains to use an airsoft replica can mess it up.
That's good to know! I saw a picture in FB where the frame cracked from the drilling, so got a little bit scared. But surely it's doable. Regarding the carbine kit - it's made by us and will be released hopefully some time in December. It's gonna be 100% modular.
@@TRIDOS.DESIGN I'll keep an eye! I've been interested in a kit for a long time, but I'm naively wishing someone will do them in metal...Maybe you could expand to cater to hi capa platforms as well as the ssx23
@@ldgarius Yeah, ours will be mostly metal with a few Nylon parts for the exact reason you mentioned. Once we launch this and see how people like it, we are definitely considering to expand similar style kit to different platforms. I have a gut feeling that Glock might be sooner than Hi-capa but time will tell ;).
@@TRIDOS.DESIGN I'll be there when you launch the one for the ssx23 then! Earlier if I qualify for beta tester, who knows :P. I don't have glocks but if you do end up doing a hi capa one, that's another one I'd love to have. I find carbine kits to be a great innovation since it allows to use gbb pistols but with rifle stability while being much easier to transport, dissassemble, etc.
Honestly - I disagree. I think too many people don't realize how well this pistol performs and that you can use this as a primary even as a pistol. If you're buying a cheap ASG one - you're not gonna be able to experience that before you upgrade it. Just my 2 cents.
@@TRIDOS.DESIGN my minimum engagement distance is 20m so it doesn’t need to be the best so I just don’t think spending the money to make it shoot further than that is worth it to me
Sure, if you want to shoot 20m with a pistol, you can get basically anything. Granted MK23 is the quietest out of the bunch. But honestly having the option to accurately shoot up to 50m easily with a sidearm is insanely valuable. This just gives a much more options when it comes to play style ;)
SSX23 mags are not good. 3 different SSX from different ppl don't shot more than 3 bbs before shoting gas and no bb goes out. But with T.M. mags works well... Personally i don't like plastic replicas without blowback. Idon't care if it's Novr or T.M. I prefer to have something with some weight and not a kids toy weight
That's weird - I now have 2x SSX23's and SSX303 with total of 8 SSX23 mags and so far I've never had an issue with feeding or gas dump. I can definitely see why not everyone likes non-blowback pistols. They are not for everyone. But to be clear, I also own an STTi and TM MK23's which both have plastic slide instead of metal one like SSX23 and I can tell you that the SSX23 feels soooo much less like a toy due to the more solid slide and weight. But I definitely see your point.
