@@AfrikanHairGod My point is I thought a video about a detangling brush would be a demonstration showing how well the brush work for detangling hair. Once I saw his hair wasn't tangle, I didn't waste my time watching the full video. The purpose of me clicking on the video was to see how well the brush detangled.

@lynwil2286 great for you. 👍 So you heard me say I predetangled his hair and proceeded to leave a comment reiterating what was already said? I hope you find what you are looking for. The client's hair is so beautiful. Thanks for your review! The price was an instant turn off, but seeing it glide through his thick hair, makes me think mine, being thinner, would benefit from this product. I think having a lighter brush is a benefit when you're doing your own hair vs someone else's. Although I've read comments of people saying similar brushes broke.🤦🏽‍♀️ These companies just out of line.😂

The main reason I like the Unbrush is because easier to use in the shower and clean when I’m done. I use the D38 out the shower. 7/10 times I detangle in the shower. I’ve also found that it’s great on kid’s hair.

I love my UnBrush! I use on myself and I do have to run it through from the top and bottom (underneath) to make sure I’m completely tangle free, but it works for me. I really bought it for my daughter who is autistic and very sensitive to anyone touching her hair, so I have to be quick. She doesn’t even flinch when I start combing her hair and that was worth the price alone.

So I like your review as a Profesional. I bought the Unbrush, and I absolutely love mine. I also have the Denman D38, but for me, it was jyst okay. I have an odd grade of hair, though. It's 4C, but super fine, so it breaks waaay too easy when detangling. With the Unbrush I have a lot less hair in the brush when I finish detangling and it's so much faster for me. Normally, detangling can take me almost an hour, with the Unbrush it's less than 30 mins. That's a plus for me. But I'm glad you did a review and a comparison between the two. I liked your perspective.

So I bought a brush that’s the Unbrush but without the name. It was Earnestly Natural’s. I felt the same about the overall feel of the brush too. The cheap light plastic-y feel. I've been considering buying the unbrush (or a similar dupe) strictly because of the open vent design. I have to say that I dislike most paddle brushes because I detangle my hair with conditioner, and I've found it a pain to get the paddle brush completely clean. Specifically the inside because that little drainage hole lets water and product in but I'm never 100% certain that I've gotten it all out. Perhaps I'm paranoid, but I always feel like there are remnants of conditioner in there festering and that's just gross to me. I do like the size of the unbrush because I don't have big hands and I find most paddle brushes too big/awkward for my liking. I also detangle small sections at a time. I wish I could find an open vent brush with sturdier construction, I think that would be the perfect option for me.
@AfrikanHairGod
@AfrikanHairGod 10 месяцев назад
I understand that. Letting them soak in soapy water might help pull out any product. It is annoying squeezing it all the excess liquid trapped in the brush. They need more than that lil tiny hole. All they got to do is put a drain hole near the corner of the brush or something
@Kindred04
@Kindred04 10 месяцев назад
@@AfrikanHairGod Thank you! I will definitely try soaking in soapy water. You're absolutely right about needing a drain hole in the corner. Maybe I should just try to do that myself with a small knitting needle or something. I hadn't even thought about trying to alter it.

i've had the unbrush for a while now and i've used it on wet hair, used it while blow drying, and on dry hair that has been styled in a silk press or blow out and for me personally I only like using the unbrush on my hair when it's blow dried in a blow out or when i have a silk press. The only thing that really stood out to me when using the unbrush is how easy it is for me to wrap my hair when i have a silk press... like that's it lol. it takes seconds to a minute and the hair just stays in place without me having to keep brushing it over and over with a paddle brush to wrap it. It's not bad when it comes blow drying but it's definitely far from the best and the handle is too short to use when blow drying. I had to reposition my hand several times so i won't burn my thumb then eventually i just picked up my round brush to finish it but it is heat resistant.

I think your review was very fair. I really like the Unbrush and agree with the points you made. I find it very thorough when I’m detangling in the shower. When I’m using it outside of that context I usually have to follow it up with another brush to make sure it’s thoroughly detangled. It seems like the wetter the hair is the better it performs and I like that it’s always gentle. I’ll add that a benefit of it being so light is that ppl I know who are heavy handed are forced to be more gentle 😅.

I use both brushes. The unbrush is gentle but not thorough enough so i use it before washes. Then i go in with the denman when conditioning.

Great review! I purchased the Unbrush just to see what it would do. I knew it wasnt gonna glide through my hair with ease like in the videos but i gave it a try. I would say i would've liked a longer handle for a better grip. It did do a good job detangling my hair when used vertically. I have the same texture as the client in the video but half that density. I'm so jealous 😅 If you're still on the hunt for a good detangler give it a try. If you already have something you like I'd say skip it and stick with your current brush. This brush might also be a solution for kids who don't like getting their hair brushed or tender headed.

This is about to be a long comment. I recently got the denman D38 and woah! I was very impressed with how gentle it is, even on my sensitive crown area. I didn't have a headache and a sore scalp afterwards. That's always a win for me!! So, thank you for recommending the tool. The handle is also ergonomic, but I prefer to hold it by its head for better grip (small hands coated in product = zero grip. If anyone has suggestions, I'm open to hearing them). I was a little scared of the bristles being too stiff, but the rubber cushioning makes the brush have a lot of give when it encounters a tangle. Because its a thorough detangling tool, it confirmed to me just where and how badly my hair had broken off (hard water damage). It reminds me of the client you had with the same and you mentioned you could see a line of demarcation from where the hair grew out after couple of months of her being in an area with softer water. Truly fascinating, but sad because damn, my hair really should have been thicker and healthier this whole time. At least I can see its growing back🥲🥲 Based on what you've said, I am tempted to try the unbrush, just to have a gentle detangle sesh' tool. Thanks for your review💜

The 4 minutes disclaimer though 💀💀💀 I'll try the unbrush because it seems to be more gentle than the D38. I tried the D38 on my wig vs the TT Thick&Curly and the D38 got stuck in the wig 💀 and was pulling hair out while the TT T&C was going through and pulling way less hair out.
@ayo_hitman_bang_introduces

Asking since you really like TT...how do you think the thick and curly compares to the regular/original TT? If you've used them both, that is.
@LoXena
@LoXena 10 месяцев назад
@@ayo_hitman_bang_introduces The T&C has longer bristles which allow it to penetrate through dense and thick hair. It can work through more hair at once, with less passes. The regular TT has shorter bristles so you have to work with smaller sections of hair. I think it can work for short or less dense natural hair.

Hey love I have some questions about the application of the leave in products… I notice that you and other stylists mist/spray the products on the outer perimeter of the head and not on individual sections… Is this normal practice? How does the product get applied to each strand of hair? Is it necessary for the product to reach each strand? For example the heat protection spray… Would it not be important for every strand to be coated with the product to protect from heat damage? Please help me understand. Signed, A Curious auntie with two nieces who want silk presses.. 🥰

I got a dupe on tiktok (where I first saw the unbrush) for 99 cents, my first tiktok purchase! It doesn't seem magical to me nor particularly super detangling. I personally like it for wigs because I don't have any brushes with the balls on the bristles or ones that big so it's good for wigs where I don't need to make small sections.

I only tried tangle teezer-style brushes/cheapy $1 shower brushes and I love them but I think the denman d38 will be even better since it can spread the hairs apart like u mentioned, but i can't afford it, and i couldn't find a brush with the same qualities(paddle brush/no balls) do u think i should buy the unbrush or a paddle brush with ball tips (similar to spornet ion brush)???

Lol @ disclaimer. I like the unbrush but I can see why some feel the opposite. It does feel cheap and the spaced out bristles won’t remove shed hair as thoroughly with each stroke as say the D38.

Hi there I when I saw you were reviewing this brush I had to watch. For the reason being that you will give an honest review. I bought a dupe from SHEIN. I have very think coily type 4a/b/c which detangled and left for 2 weeks. I do cover hair with satin scarves. So was not looking forward to to detangling my hair. So when received the dupe unbrush I tried it and it worked. My advice buy the dupe.

I saw the biggest difference in how much your clients head would start jerking with the denman vs how still his head was with the unbrush indicating the denman probably was more tension/stress on the hair and client. Plus seemed like less passes to get the desired result with the unbrush. Might have to get one
@AfrikanHairGod
@AfrikanHairGod 8 месяцев назад
There's more tension because it's more thoroughly smoothing his thick, kinky hair. If anything it's indicative of how ineffective the unbrush is at thoroughly detangling. Comments below also corroborates this.
