I think it very likely we're inside a virtual reality game-type scenario that we have entered as beings from above, fleeing an existential vacuum that a digital existence creates. Just think how incredibly meaningless life would become without any constraints (death, time, physics... ). I believe that in the upper level of reality we're all digital beings that have attained godlike powers within their own domains of reality, but that quickly became boring (for example, think how much more enjoyable Minecraft is in survival, with constraints, rather than in creative; think how fast you get bored of a game when you can have anything in a whim) so we entered multi-player VRs to find a sense of meaning. I believe our current reality is one such type of VR simulation that imposes a lot of constraints, so that hardship can create meaning.

Well, your brain is basically just trying to interpret the physical world with the help of physical input. What you perceive as color and sound are really waves. It's all just an interpretation of all the different properties of the things you have around you.

The bigger question is why that question matters? If there is no way of knowing, that won't affect your life at all. If it affects, we will figure out and give a proper answer by looking at how it affect us.

@jameslock1 I agree and understand that this channel isn't covering new grounds or doing anything new, I just enjoyed the craftsmanship of the video, the graphics used and how he presented the information. The concepts may not be backed by any new information, but I think that it is good for normal people to watch these sorts of videos and ask questions. Are we alone? Are we living in a simulation? I'd say that most people aren't going to watch more in depth videos that may use terminology they aren't familiar with. I think this style of video appeals more to the masses as Elvir Jade stated and there's no doubt that more educated people wouldn't necessarily be watching videos like this. Seeing this video in my recommended just made me think more deeply about society and life in general. Anyway, should stop procrastinating and get back to my homework haha.

It's weird because I've recently started researching this, my whole life I always thought to myself that this earth is more than we're told like our lives is more advanced than we know. Since I was a kid I said I was in some simulation and once we die we move to a more peaceful version of earth that mirrors the reality we are in now based on our dreams through out life. Sometimes I feel immortal like I could try to kms but it would be impossible because the higher force isnt allowing it. That explains the ozone, I feel its more of a shield that ensures that we dont pollute other universes. as per my personal opinion, this reminds me some Islamic ideology that everything is already been written billions years ago, it's going smooth the same way as is written (which is named as "Taqdeer" in islam). The only change is possible in this code, is the values of variables. if we change the value of a variable, we can get different results, otherwise rest of the coding remains unchanged, (as like if we change the values of a variable in a code written by us in a computer, we can get different graphs and results, while all the loops and "if else" statements will remain the same. we just change the value of a variable). my mom says, if i study hard, there is a higher possibility that i can get a good job, while if i don't, it will be difficult to get a good chance. so here, "studying hard" is the variable what we can change. Furthermore, as someone mentioned here for cheat codes, the program by it self can't creat or run any cheat codes unless the creature of this coding provide the cheat codes. so there is no way to get cheat codes in our life for success, because we are already the "simulation", we are NOT the creature and we can't burn this code in our computers.

Alright let me try to phrase my thoughts. Nature is not cognicient and that's because it doesn't have to be. It's kind of like a key and a lock: it's just fits and works. Everything in our oniverse is somewhat optimized, but nobody optimized it. My theory on this is that in chaos there is structure. If a system gets big enough it'll cancel its own errors out just by having individual entities that act either on their own or by means of some guided rules. The rules of the universe, I.e gravity, strong force, quarks and atoms, speed of light and the composition of the universe (barionic matter, dark matter/energy) have made our universe but for what? Human cognition isn't able to compute this question because the answer wouldn't make sense to a human. Exurb1a made a great video on that too. If you look at it through the anthropic way of thought the universe has its purpose in us, therefore life is its driving force. As ignorant as that statement is I think it can hold a bit of truth if you look at it a certain way. Evolution is something that ALWAYS happens. Stars Form, die, make new planets or stars and the cycle repeats. A universe with no purpose at all wouldnt behave like that. Time for example or gravity make our life and the emergence of it possible. The rules given to this universe make me think, that they were made to create life. But and that's a big but, even if that were true, it would still be a thought that would make sense to a human and frankly the universe or its origin speak different languages of thought. The real reason wouldnt make sense to us. So the question remains, is life a symptom of reality or is reality a symptom of life...

+marvin kokol That is a very great question and overall thought. Systems form in response to external conditions and maintain order of itself in regards to those conditions. Example: Animals need to eat, so we have a digestive system. Cars need to travel safely and efficiently, so we have a traffic system. So what those conditions were that caused the necessity of the universe to manifest, is something I hope we some day find an answer to.

Yes it matters from a knowledge perspective if we can prove it definitely we can usher a new era of thought and eliminate organised religions but yes at the same time there is nothing we can do as we are at the mercy of the creators, unless they left us ways to escape.

If we are 100% in simulation, it doesn't matter, but if the simulation is based on a physical body it matter in the way that we can take conscious that maybe we are in simulation, like a wake up

I've been a witness of strange unexplainable events and have experienced similar events and synchronicity to firmly trust and believe we are in a simulted computed reality. I'd be in denial if i felt otherwise.
