I had a Honda Odyssey and I loved how it drove because it didn't drive like a minivan but instead like a car! Overall quality is second to none , but I wish Honda would lose the timing belt and put a timing chain in their minivans because most people dump them right before a timing belt change. And as usual great vid brother! Your blooper reel made me laugh!
Just bought me the 2022 toyota sienna xse trim fwd..... the grill is just sick it looks amazing with the 20 inch black rims and 36mpg you just can't beat the sienna. It's got the looks, the 36 mpg and can't beat the reliability.
my family just had to scrap our odyssey from 1999 back in november after 350k miles, 2 engine rebuilds and a trans rebuild. That thing has been around since I was born! ill miss that car and the memories.
Anyone who thinks Minivans are lame, go try to find one right now. My only test drive this year was a 2019 Elite, because that's all the dealer has. May get to test drive a Carnival next month. And maybe a Sienna this week. But, coming from a 2012 Prius V, testing the Honda with the V6 was Nice. Quiet and effortless getting on the highway. The interior just felt dated though.
To echo the sentiments of another commenter: Sienna. That hybrid power train offers incredible range and well I do not buy a minivan for the power. I buy it for the people hauling capability and with a solid 36 combined mpg, I am for a sienna any day. Plus, the built in vacuum in the sienna can be accessed from the mid-row console instead of from the back like in the odyssey.
Congratulations on your Recognition Lori, indeed your Cinematography is excellent. Nothing revs as sweet as a V6 Honda. Honda has gained the reputation for #1 in reliability in UK, even over Toyota. You'll be in good hands with this van. 5 seconds is not slow for even a car, and for a big Mini Bus, its more than commendable.
my mom used to have a 2009 Honda Odyssey and the air vents where in an even better place, they where on the celling witch was very nice the tv worked very well her screen on the dash was nice we had automatic doors and an automatic trunk too witch was very nice for 2009
AWD WOULD be nice, but this sure brings the comfy! Considering Honda basically created infotainment, you'd think this would have a larger screen. Either way, a good family hauler. Thanks for the great vid, Lori!

We have an 18 Elite and it’s one of the best cars we have ever owned. Better than the 8 previous SUV’s we had. My only regret is not getting one sooner. And yes, it does love to rev when you get on it!
Please please please, which one is quieter, luxury quiet, doesn’t rattle doesn’t squeak on bumpy road?! 2021 sienna/odyssey/pacifica?! I can keep watching their reviews 10 times each and still cannot figure out!!!!!

Joe, I'm really surprised..look at the way Honda beautifully vanished that sore door tracks. It's super clean, that's what Kia carnival needs to do. Even after hiding the tracks and changing handles like normal cars, Honda can't present it as an SUV style van but 2022 Kia carnival can do it with minimal changes. I'm not buying an MPV because I have so many kids but if I want to get a refrigerator or a dish washer, I don't want to run to uhaul. When u go for a theme park ride with 2 families, the carnival type vans can do the magic, I need practicality of a van that looks absolutely like an SUV. Amen.
Hey Joe. Great review. This is definitely one of the best minivan in the business. I would say neck and neck with the Pacifica and the all-new Sienna. The big 3 top dogs. In Canada, theres a huge shortage of Odysseys. They dont sell the 2021 here in Canada and jump straight into the 2022 model year due to covid and the vacuum supplier being unable to make enough vacuum for the Honda Odysseys. Just would like to share a fact with you and others. Cheers!
Glad you learned how to use magic seat after blooper reel. But I think the mini van days are coming to a close. Must be number one vehicle dads hate to drive. But probably still a vehicle for airport taxis, courtesy vehicles, etc.
People really need to start thinking twice about buying 3 row crossovers for their families because this Odyssey Elite is at least as stylish as an average 3 row crossover
You wouldn’t believe how much my mom could stuff in her 2005 Honda Odyssey when I was a kid. It’s hard to appreciate these unless you grew up with one. The family road trip champ. They even drive amazingly for being a tank. Maybe it doesn’t keep your kids from fighting each other, but at least they’re further apart and aren’t touching each other when they finally do calm down. I’d still rock the minivan if I had a family.
I do like the Odyssey, it’s one of the best looking minivans on the market. For my wife and I a minivan is a good option even though there’s only two of us. I like the room and the available cargo space. The price for the elite trim may be out of our range but but the EX-L is good model for us. One more thing, I don’t believe Babe Ruth hit any nome runs in a football stadium, lol. Have a great day.

16:24 Raiti I have a 2009 Honda odyessey seat as my gaming chair at my house from a salvage yard and it is greater than any seat you can find for home for the money.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey could probably stop people from buying a Sienna or a Quest. Plus I love all of the features that honda came up with for that van.
I think the Cadillac of Minivans is more the Chrysler Pacifica. Too weird looking to be considered like a Cadillac. The Acura of Minivans would be more appropriate.
No 360 camera? No Pano roof? Just one rear TV? I like the Odyssey, but its dash and radio needs some updating. The Pinnacle Hybrid Pacifica is pure luxury and fuel efficient, pano roof, 2 rear TVs with built-in games, and has a 10.1” screen, the fam cam is better too for rear facing car seats. The Honda cam is too far forward. The 35 miles of EV range on the Hybrid is great. I do like the sideways sliding seat in the middle row of the Odyssey. But the large seats in the Pacifica Pinnacle are impossible to beat.
king of minivans??? no,.. no,.. odyssey is a great car don't get me wrong , i luv odyssey but to become a king odyssey needs: 5 things. and those are: 1. cam-360-view. 2. awd. 3. pano-roof. 4. timing chain instead of silly belt. 5. hybrid and other alternative fuel options: like cng lpg diesel. and finally if odyssey needs to become a super-king in that case one more version must be manufactured with higher clearance, reinforced body and some light-off-road features besides the awd.

The Odyssey is great, quality? I think it's either the best or one of the best but at the end of the day, we went with Sienna Ltd awd, the fact that my mother and sister's 2020 Odysseys are having transmission issues didn't help. I really wish Honda had a hybrid and awd and they worked on their transmission issues. We wouldn't have cross shopped and gone straight for it.
