This is a great dual sport for me. I ride it all over Southwest Utah , Sand Hollow and Warner Valley All the time. It has never failed me ( yet) .

Good video. I added a windshield, skid plate, rear rack and bark busters to mine to make a very capable adventure / island bike here in Oahu. Cogent dynamics front and rear and I’m loving it.

These things and the TW 200 are awesome bikes, highly recommend if you are beginner or just like taking it easy but can still go on some intermediate single track.
@lucas_bryz
@lucas_bryz Год назад
Between the two, is one better than the other? I’ve heard mixed reviews on both. Wanted a TW but was talked out of it since it’s not very performance oriented, and that’s what made me start looking at this model.

@@lucas_bryz I haven't had a TW200 yet but countless dual-sport bikes over the last 42 years. I'd say the T-Dub is more suited to beginners with an off-road bias. When I rode big dual-sport thumpers in the early '80s, I remember saying I'd never want to ride a 250cc but now that I'm in my early 60s, this XT250 would make the ideal all-rounder for me.
@DaveZee01
@DaveZee01 Год назад
@@dustinkeeton4193 I reckon, for shortish to average height riders, this XT250 is hard to beat. Anyone can learn to ride it and still enjoy its all-round capabilities. If I could only own one dual-sport bike, (instead of the 4 ranging from a 125cc to an 800cc)😅 this would be it!
@Nonplused
@Nonplused 10 месяцев назад
@@lucas_bryz One is not "better" than the other, but they suit different riders. TW's are best for shorter riders or people who are not interested in speed but are there for the trails and the scenery, or maybe some hunting, fishing, or camping. You absolutely will not win any races on a TW 200, not even against a kid on a 125, but you will get where you are going. The XT on the other hand is a weird market placement, between the XT and the (now discontinued) WR-S Yamaha had kind of placed a bike on either side of the KLX250, the XT being less performance and the WR more, which was a different strategy than Honda who put their CRF250S right smack alongside the KLX250. (Both are 300's now, which may be why Yamaha discontinued the WR250S). The TW on the other hand is not a great kid's bike despite the seat height because it is too heavy. A 100 pound kid on a TW will have a similar weight ratio as an adult on a big street bike. For my money I would not recommend buying an XT unless you have tried a KLX250 or 300 first (or the Honda). The money isn't that much different, but the KLX (and CRF) is a higher technology bike. The only real advantage the XT has is seat height. It is really reminiscent of the old Honda XL250 from the late 80's/early 90's, which were good bikes at the time, but times have changed.

Really an outstanding bike. I got one for my wife a few years ago and I am constantly amazed how good it is . It is intended to be ridden sitting down and at slower speeds. For this the VERY soft suspension and soft low seat are terrific. The smoothness of the FI fueling is incredibly good. The bike is physically small, and great for the 5'6" minus crowd.

I downsized to Yamaha XT250 and I love it! It can go anywhere off road and it can handle highways surprisingly well (I took it on a 500km road trip - it did so well for a 250cc bike!). Great video - really enjoyed watching it!

I’ve ridden 5 BDR’s on 650’s, but especially loved the WABDR on my XT… what a champ! Like a dummy I sold that bike… however, quickly realizing my error I bought another which I keep on the East Coast and it’s bopped all about NE / Maine and down to the Mid-Atlantic. This year it’ll take me from NY to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. All I do is add ProTaper bars, Cycra guards, a Ricochet bash plate, brackets for soft panniers, and wide pegs… simple and solid. Love the wee thing. Given the chance I’d globe trot with it. 🤠😍

I want to get a motorcycle so bad. My mom had one in the 60s and loved it. I am a girl so this bike should have enough power for me right? I’ve never ridden a motorcycle before and don’t know how to shift but I guess it’s pretty easy. I just want to go super fast and eventually learn to do loops and high jumps for my Instagram friends. I just turned 50yo and I think it would be neat to show everyone that I’m now an adventure sport expert. I was always called clumsy when I was young but I think if I put my mind to it I can learn to master this motorcycle. Anyway, sorry for the long comment/question but do you think this bike has enough power for someone weighing 110 lbs? Or will I grow out of it to quickly? I want to learn those jumps that Pink’s husband does. Can this bike do those or should I get like a 400?

That bike took me to some stupid places. Once I looked back, my reaction was, how the fk do I go back. Lost count of crashes. Just straighten controls and keep riding. There is one Japanese guy showing amazing trials techs with it. Also, took it to 400 miles camping trips but, not exactly best for it. It can do it, if you can though.
