I fail to understand the concern. At a time when human population is overwhelming the planet, when women are denied birth control measures, when billions are spent to enhance male performance thereby adding to the problem of unwanted pregnancies, why is lower sperm production a problem?

In the West, maybe. Not in Africa or Muslim countries though.

Viele relevante und wichtige Punkte, aber so mein letzter Kenntnisstand hat auch die Pille, die ungefähr zum gleichen Zeitpunkt an Popularität gewann, wie der Abstieg der Spermienzahl begann, eine Rolle hierbei. Diese kann mit aktuellen Mitteln nicht ausreichend aus dem Wasser geklärt werden, daher wäre eine Verbesserung dieses Prozesses unter Umständen ein geeigenter Hebel.

There's a war in Europe and Spain has over half of youth unemployed, enough said. It shows up differently, in US it's diseases of despair, in Japan hikikomori, in Europe many young live with parents. Housing 2008 crisis, European debt crisis, inoculation, even during war we're not seeing booming economy. Decades of economic neglect and feeling of hopelessness. Ergo cheaper processed foods, reluctant marriage on a strained budget, plus extreme weather, gloom on social media, lack of agency in increasingly undemocratic social structures (rising inequality), and so human bodies are switching to energy preservation. When there are no jobs (see youth unemployment even in China) having children is viewed as burdensome, as especially in EU there's still belief in reaching similar retirement as current elderly enjoy. This might be a mirage though in itself and another source of pessimism are upcoming demographic/pension deficits

Funny, sperm count crisis... As global population continues to rise.

While this might be true I still think the economic factor is a bigger problem regarding the population replacement problem
