In the modern era, the most demanding position is either side full back. U have to defend as good as a center back but also attack as good as a winger

I think the only one that competes with that is probably the CM. Ever since 2010 Barcelona the game has transitioned to being heavily technical and heavily possession based. Having the technical ability while also having the intelligence of a great CM like Iniesta, Modric, and Dr Bruyne is much more crucial to the team than the full backs IMO. But you do make a good point.

@@danielreyes2796 they arent expected to defend like a top defender. None those players named had that responsibility since theres a cdm or 2

@@skinnymon123 No I know my point isn’t that they have to be more versatile than full backs. My point is that the ability to string together the midfield, keep the ball, and have that intelligence is arguably just as important or maybe more important than having a versatile full back

He’s like a quarterback but with feet - left and right! To curve the ball you need to hit it on the right spot with the right force but the thing is, that spot and force changes depending on the distance the ball needs to travel and the surface on which it needs to travel (air or grass). You also need to compensate for wind and density/humidity of the pitch. It’s great to see Americans finally understanding football. There’s no American sport that requires the same level of sheer skill, coordination, speed and endurance in one package: - You need Track & Field levels of sprinting speed. - The balance and strength of a gymnast. - the coordination skills of a circus juggler. - the endurance of a triathlete. The average pro player runs 90 minutes non stop, with just a 15 minute break at half time, covering 7 miles of running per game.

Hardest position? Depends on. In terms of stamina, the positions that demands you to move constantly on the pitch (midfielders, fullbacks, wingers). The most demanding nowadays is definitely the fullback position (defenders on either left or side hugging the touchline), as you constantly run up and down the pitch, helping the defense as well as the attacking play. In terms of brains and game vision, the midfield. No matter if you're an attacking or defending midfielder, if you don't have the brains, you just can't play there. You get threats from everywhere and have very little time to make a decision and got to be real quick thinking to either stop an attack or pass the ball forward without being dispossessed. The most prized and most demanded players will always be the "playmakers" who almost always play in the midfield. Either in an advanced position like De Bruyne, or deeper and near the defense like Andrea Pirlo, Xavi, or Xabi Alonso, for example. They're absolutely essential to make a team tick and unlock defenses. Also learn about the offside rule. It's a very important one.

i'd say the 2 hardest position are left/right back and goalkeeper; l/r back because you have to do everything at a really good level and to be athletic, especially in terms of speed and stamina, it's the position where the players are usually the fastest; and goalie will always be underrated, but you have to always be on your top level if you want to react to left/right back, i recommand Théo Hernandez, Robertson, Alphonso Davies, Hakimi, Alexander-Arnold

You don't need stamina as a GK. There's a reason why GKs can play at a much more advanced age than any other outfield player.

i would say full back is the toughest position, mainly because of the contributions they make going foward and in defence. Fullbacks always have to be sprinting whether to catch an attacker or contributing on the flanks

Good question on the hardest position. It depends. Keepers might have games they aren't involved at all when the team is playing too dominant. But when the team struggles keepers take the beating and pressure. Defenders might also be getting days off due to the same reason. Midfielders are basically running the game. They gotta work on both ends. Preventing an attack before it started, by proper positioning and pressing. Developing attacks is no easy as well. Forwards - welp. Their main function is to score, if they don't have chances, they gotta create them for themselves and converting a chance is different thing. As a forward you may not even get a chance, and you will get all the hate from the fans from being useless, when it's just because the opposing team did well cutting him off. For me - every position is difficult when you got to do your job on the highest level. But surely, midfield is priceless. A great CDM might be invisible on the pitch, but he does his job regardless

The hardest position to play? It depends on the team's style of play. If your team is more defensive, the hardest position will be striker bc they generally have to be clinical as hell since chances are generally rare. But generally I think CDM (defensive midfielder is the hardest. You need extraordinary stamina, IQ and toughness to play that position well.
@diegolisandror2

The hardest position is the "10". The 10 is basically a midfielder but not like any other, it's is the genius of the team, usually there's only 1 per team, some times none. They are the brain, the master of the orchestra, the one with the most technique and iq. These players are in extinction, there's still a few like Messi, Neymar, De Bruyne, Modric, but if you want old examples you have Maradona, Zidane, Cruyff, Ronaldinho, Totti, Pirlo, Pelé etc etc Each football teams has their tactics and plans but this players are usually allowed to be completely free, they are the game changers

Hardest position to play all depends on the system of the team you are playing in. In more modern teams, fullbacks have a lot of work up and down the pitch as well as having to be very technically adept. However, in more traditional style teams, playing winger, attacking mid, or forward is certainly harder. I will always say that attacking mid/false 9 is the hardest because of the nature of how you receive the ball. At full back, center back, or even winger in many cases, you have your back to the line and only have to face forward, and can play around the back should any pressure arrive. If you are playing centrally high up the pitch, you rarely have the option of an uncontested/unblocked back pass to rely on + defenders coming from any direction + you operate in a role where you have to drive towards a defense and score a goal. You have to be athletic, very technically strong, and have a very strong game sense. In those traditional systems, playing full back felt like a vacation. However, in a 352, or a Pep/Klopp style 433, fullback is incredibly athletically and technically demanding.

Hardest position in the modern game is probably a Left or Right Back. It's arguably the most physically demanding as well. To be a top LB or RB now, you need to be able to attack and defend above average in both departments.
