I like to buy copper rounds and even give them as small gifts or “tokens of appreciation” to friends or business associates. I think to price them by the ounce and compare them to silver is a silly comparison at best, the way I looked at them is as small pieces of art…🌝
I’m with Trident…he knows it, too! Love copper rounds, and I don’t mind paying just under $2 per round because of the crazy amount of different designs that are available. Yeah, it’s NOT a good deal for an ounce of copper, but these might…emphasis on MIGHT…be collectible someday. You’d have to stack a literal ton to make money on copper. Good vid!
US Nickels are 75% copper, 25% nickel. 1981 and prior pennies 97.5% copper. (Metal composition value 5.75c, 3c+) as well as having the option of cashing in for USD at face value.
Maybe we are thinking of copper stacking all wrong. I picked up copper rounds for 1.55 each and yes the premium is huge when you think of how much a pound of copper is worth but you are paying for the design and the manufacturing so over time copper rounds should also go up in value especially as they get more popular. While gold and silver hit all time crazy prices more and more people won’t be able to afford those high prices so I feel people may run to copper and platinum. Long term holds. 1960 copper was about 30 cents a pound. Anyone agree to this or am I the crazy one haha.
For sure... I don't think it will ever make sense to "stack" copper rounds. But I think copper can be a good investment as a commodity (look at the increase over the last couple years), and it's certainly fun to have a bunch of unique rounds for a collection
Sorry for the off topic. American Silver Eagle (2021 type 2) is $10.50 over spot and 1oz silver round is $3.30 over spot. Which of those 2 are worth buying when it comes to selling it back? 20 ASE = $671.00 25 1oz rounds = $667.50 I know that some dealers pay you some premium on the ASE, but on rounds I get 5 more... I believe the dealers these days give spot for rounds.
Some things to consider: Who are you planning to sell it back to? Call around and ask what their buyback price is for these different items-- the "spread" between sale and buyback price will give you a sense of which premium is more likely to be recouped. Based on buyback prices I have been hearing, I would guess that the rounds make more sense in your scenario. That being said, you never know how premium dynamics will change over the long term, and you want to make sure that your rounds are easily identified as silver-- that's one big advantage of the ASEs. Hopefully that helps!
If the round is in good condition and a popular design you may get above spot price depending on the dealer the coin shop I go to here in Pensacola ( emerald coast coins and bullion) have always given me above spot on my rounds except for a few that were super old and kinda fucked up. Great shop I've always had great experiences if your ever in Pensacola Florida or passing through youust check them out sometimes I spend an hour or 2 looking through there bargain bin or looking for specific silver coins
Those copper rounds were very beautiful and I would love to buy them for that price, or more, the designs on say 95% of those copper rounds have wonderful designs and I would rather have 30 rounds for $50.00 then one or two silver rounds, at least for a few months then I would switch back Till next year then see what Copper is going for!!! Gary Bailey KingofDarkness You ended the video with saying just what I was thinking, if you see something you like, and it is inexpensive collect it and do it for a few months then switch back to silver and gold and next year see where copper is!! Gary
If you keep 1% of your stack in copper, 1% in platinum, 1%palladium, and 6% non precious metals in ignots ( aliminum, lead, brass etc, )in the garage with 25% gold and 65% silver you should be fine.
@@SilverForeverX Etsy, Amazon, E-bay, I just bought a couple Geiger cooper 5 oz bars, but also bought about 12 lead ignots, 12 , illuminam amd 3 brass Ignots.
But dont get me wrong my stack is about 80% silver, and when I buy gold it's often 24k gold for my wife, Ignot, Brass, Copper, lead, tin, steel , Aliminum and Zinc, and 2 diversify my gold I got my wife 24k investment grade bracelet for Christmas and even a Stirling silver Anklet.
As someone who has ben investing in silver for a good while. I buy copper rounds both for their aesthetic and as a a small buffer for my silver investment: good for when things get REALLY rough.
I stack copper scrap. I have some bullion and poured bars bad way to invest at a huge loss but yes its still worth what's its worth per pound. I believe copper will eventually increase to $8 lb one day and still won't get my premium out of it, but it's ok. If the SHTF you could possibly use copper bullion along side of silver as a fractional way to barter or pay for things.
Dont look at spot. Look at premiums as anything else. Premiums have went up almost double in 2 years depending on what brand . Buy now and wait tol u can get $5 a round. 6 months ago i was like copper sounds great to invest in paper wise. No one was down w it. I passed it up. Compare that w silver or gold and see whos the winner. Not a sole thought silver wouldve been at this cost 20+ years ago too. Drop a g and wait
An alternative use for these.. get a ton of them, a couple hundred dollars worth, and learn how to electroplate. Coat em in a few microns of silver, add a few led bars covered in gold leaf, and boom, you got a perfect decoy stack to put in an easily findable safe for would be thieves to grab and go, leaving your real stack safely hidden.
Very interesting. I definitely feel like this would work in a smash and grab robbery... but I'm also very averse to being in possession of anything fake..would have to think about this one..
@@SilverForeverX oh for sure. I'd never want anything fake near my stack either. This would be totally separate in a poorly hidden decoy safe that is made only to hold decoy items. Its not marked as silver either, as it's copper rounds being plated. No one who knows silver would ever buy them thinking it's real, but in a smash and grab, it's convincing enough to look like they hit the jackpot after a bit of work, and should convince them to leave without looking further. Going further, the entire safe could be rigged with cameras, silent alarms, and even a Tile tracker hidden inside a false bag of junk silver to aid in apprehending any would be thieves.
I'd say you've really thought this through! Check out this video I did recently, I kind of touched on this point with the tip "Sabotage" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8FWTlNBwpc0.html
@@SilverForeverX I actually just watched that the other day lol, was what got me thinking about what could be done as precautions. Based on some of the stats, and the cost/ benefits of stash security, I figure having good decoy methods is one of the best ways of being safe. My fiancé also works in corrections, and well.. let's just say from what I've heard, most of the time it doesn't take too much to trick the criminal mind lol
Some Ike dollars are even part silver! I think it's up to the individual whatever they want to buy or collect, just don't think that stacking copper rounds (or Ike dollars) is the best precious metals play!
Haha, you got me at copper round. I know ppl bellyache at $2 copper rounds, but premium on generic silver round is $3 or $4 per round. Also, most folks know if you really want to stack copper…you want scrap, pre82 Lincoln cents. Bars are almost stackable per Oz, but still doesn’t make sense for the $4lb price.
Hey I still picked up some up, didn't I? I agree it doesn't make sense to stack copper, ESPECIALLY as rounds.. but it's still a fun thing to have around and maybe give away to viewers in the future?
@@SilverForeverX Fun for sure, I love collecting em. They can be profitable if you sell peer to peer. If you want to just stack and not put in the time to sell/flip-I totally agree just stay away 👍
@@SilverForeverX Facebook and Instagram are great, takes a while to gain any clout, but definitely worth it. eBay is a slow trickle because I have to jack up the price for the fees, but stuff eventually sells there.
$2.75 isn't much to pay for a piece of art if you enjoy them for the design, just don't expect to get that money back when you sell it! Glad you found this video helpful Jose
As long as you have your own reasons for you own stack! I got to admit, these rounds are growing on me a bit, but I think of them more as a collectible
@@SilverForeverX I don't stack rounds though, I stack my own pours. Our way of life is precious to us. Without copper this precious life we live wouldn't be possible in many many ways. Therefore in my home opinion copper is a precious metal. I don't see as a major way to save money like gold and silver. I do see value in it down the road picking up what I can here and there. It will always be needed in our world and therefore will always have some value. Wherever silver is used industrially copper is usually right along side it. 👍🏾👊🏾
@@SilverForeverX they both pour differently. I would started with copper just to get the feel of pouring. I've poured silver and it's so much different. It cools way faster and temperature matters more when pouring it. It's something you literally have to do in order to get it right. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have. 👊🏾
@@S.P.C. Thanks for the advice SPC! I'd feel more comfortable starting with copper just because it's less expensive, but it sounds like I'll need to try both if I want to master the art! Thinking about a buying an electric furnace soon
A copper deficit is set to inundate global markets throughout 2023 - and one analyst predicts the shortfall could potentially extend throughout the rest of the decade. The world is currently facing a global copper shortage, fueled by increasingly challenging supply streams in South America and higher demand pressures. We may all be singing a different tune very soon. Good Luck😊
hmmm.... a pound of copper (14 troy ounces) is worth $4.35 approximately. So a 1 troy ounce of copper is worth about 31 cents. 156 copper pennies is also about 1 pound. So I'd say it's a lousy deal.
Yeah it certainly does not make sense for stacking... BUT, to be fair, people generally buy these for the 'art' and collectible value as opposed to the metal content. I picked these up just so I could play around with them, share them on the channel, and potentially give some away for fun during future livestreams
scrap copper isn't 99.99%pure like the rounds are. I understand what you re saying but they are still cool, with the world trying to go to electric cars copper may eventually explode.
you often pay as much for one ounce of copper in a round than the actual price for a whole pound ... so worth it ???? not really ... but if copper ever takes off and goes to near precious metal status ... then yes prob worth it ...... Personally i think the real question should be .. do "YOU" find value in them ... do they bring you joy ... if so then yes 100% worth it
Like I said, I'm not 100% stacker and I do enjoy collecting as a hobby.. I found value in these as a novelty, useful for making a video, and probably good for giving away in the future.. that being said, this will likely be the first and last copper in my collection!
That’s the exact order I buy. I must say I currently have way more copper than silver simply because I was able to pick up copper kilo bars very reasonably priced.

copper is a base metal and metals wont be around forever is how i see things ill buy all metals since humanity is bound to start running out of resources within a few decades maybe the world may never know
sad to see you tarnishing the look of this beautiful copper with your bare hands They are more susceptible to moist humidity and the oils from your fingertips
Saya ada uang koin seperti tembaga saya coba tes sliding menggunakan magnet posisi koin miring magnet turun melambat sama koin perak lainnya sedangkan koin yang lain magnet meluncur dengan cepat.mohon penjelasan.apakah perak dan tembaga cara tesnya sama .
