It’s irresponsible to say we don’t need any supplements. Most people are deficient in multiple nutrients. The NHS says everyone should take vitamin D in winter months for instance. This doctor surely should know this if he was competent.
I don't think you were listening properly, the doctor did say that if you diagnosed with a deficiency or particular condition then you can take appropriate supplements.
