A pair of quarantined Fathead Sunburst Anthias into a RSR XL425 that had 10 active, curious fish already. Then not giving it a few days to see how it would work out before moving them within a few hours to a 10G with substandard water quality. Too many stressors in too short a time. Both perished 😢

Biggest Mistake for me was in the beginning with this hobby, buying any fish on a whim without planning and thinking about the long term implications of this fish. Absolutely agree about thinking of fish as you do other pets. Some people see to just see them in a monetary sense. It’s very rewarding to have fish that are healthy and happy and for me devastating if something bad happens to one. Also Awesome Video. I really like the biggest mistake video series.

For a tank cover I use mosquito net with electrical cable clips, i just remove the nail. The material stretches and i put it over my LEDs so i get no loss. The material i have is a nice blue which suits my tuna blue colour and marine theme. At the front of my tank ive pit a lengrh of alumonium angle sitting freely and restig against the net for easy access to the tank for feeding etc. Looks great and in my app works well. The holes are mosquito proof so your firefish wont pick the gap in your netting and do the old free willy jump

Probably too much info to share here in the comments section as each fish will do best with slightly differing foods and feeding schedules. That said, feeding smaller, but more frequent meals will benefit almost all species of fish, especially those with a high metabolism like anthias, chromis, and other active fish. Take a look at Scissortail Dartfish. Not the most colorful of fish but I have 2 that are constantly in the top 2 or 3 inches of the surface. Used to have 3 but Left lid open, poof 2. Fish usually school for protection. In a reef tank there's no a lot to be afraid of and in time most Anthias and Chromis don't really stick together. Unless you have a few larger fish to keep them looking out.

Other the last 4 months (These are all juvenile from what i can tell) 2 clown fish A yellow silver bellied wrasse A chalk goby A cleaner wrasse A royal baselet Midas blenny Cleaner shrimp. Ive had no signs of aggression at the moment i know that the chalk goby wasnt a great idea as the sand bed wasn't established and i still dont think it is but i make sure it gets food with larger pellets that the other fish can't eat. And target feed multiple times a day I just ordered a yellow tang and a blue tang And then eventually a 1 spot rabbit fish This is for a reefer 450

I disagree with 19:00. Tangs need large tanks not only due to their size but they graze all day and require ample swimming room. Cannot achieve that in a 40 gallon breeder, where as a larger lion fish would be successful in that environment. No one would recommend buying a greyhound for a studio apartment in New York, even if as a puppy it is small. Greyhounds need room to run just as tangs need room to swim and graze.
