@@fdfac What about lemons? I am not sure what you mean, but Putin is in my view one of the smartest politicians alive! Brexit is a good price to pay for a rebellion against globalization at a time when everything needs repair or replacement at the local level! In the UK everything is expensive, there is a big choice and the best multicultural has to offer at this point in time! If we could exchange the best Portugal has to offer and in return, the UK replace it with something that is needed there! Oh what a wishful thought, you see it needs us all to help each other and stop relying on the global billionaire to dictate the price of our lemons or what wax that goes into it! Sometime Exit is the only way!

I'm almost 84. My favorite book as a child was Ferdinand the Bull who loved to sit under the Cork Trees in Portugal and smell the flowers. I learned to read from that and other books like it. Thanks for this video.

In Portugal the smells of nature are wonderful. The lemon smells of lemon and leaves you the intense smell in the hands, the tangerine when peeling has exudes that unmistakable smell, because everything , still is, very natural without artificialisms fruit of mass production. Really, when we see fruit coming from other countries like mação, orange, we notice that, really, it's all big, the same size, apples even look like they shine, but... the taste... because.. the taste, the smell is not the same as in Portugal. And it is these differences that we often do not value that delight foreigners. That's that... Hugs and good Easter for everyone!

The property is just amazing. Would be convenient to mention, if anyone likes, but doesn't have all the money, could buy it by doing a mortgage in Portugal. Worth think about it. Beautiful property and location. There must be opportunities to repeat this in other villages and hamlets, if there are enough like minded people. Footloose Crafters bought a ruined house and restored it, total cost including purchase 16K Euro. You have improved enormously your camera work, you mentioned in your last video the new microphone which certainly has made a massive improvement to the sound quality of your vlog.

We absolutely love the foot loose crafter's, they've been one of our favourite vloggers for a long time as they're very genuine and very hard working people. Our village is similar and we have had discussions with the few inhabitants about restoring the other houses so we hear you amigo.

I have never been to Portugal, but Brazil is another story. I am American, but I can't stand what is going on here. I lived in Brazil for about 14 years. It is a different country all together. The Brazilian people in general are very nice. I speak Portuguese so I get along quite well. The Portuguese discovered so; I know the Portuguese people are very nice also>

You see, you are going from the ridiculous to the sublime. I live in semi-rural Derbyshire - No Littler, no graffiti, no parking restrictions, very little crime, clean air, peace, & friendly people who I don’t have to learn another language to speak to. No damnable heat in the Summer - true - rain now & again, although we’ve had a very dry Summer & Autumn so far for the last 2 years, 4 lovely seasons to look forward to every year & no worries about rural fires every Summer. I’ve now got my late ex husbands villa to sell just inland of the Costa Blanca, I could go & live in it, but No Thanks - give me 4 seasons over ridiculously hot & dry every time. It wouldn’t do for us all to be the same I know, & you wouldn’t get me living in or near London for a gold clock, but don’t knock the rest of the U.K - it isn’t all rubbish, just like Portugal isn’t the Utopia a lot of Ex Pats say it is.

@@minkgin3370 I spent several years on the CB, in Rojales and Quesada. The weather there is nothing like Portugal and it is the biggest dump I have ever seen. Wild horses wouldn't get me back to such a soulless, characterless place. But then it's horses for courses, isn't it? I didn't want to stay in London and wanted warm and green (after the CB, green was very important). I have found that the Portuguese are far FAR friendlier than the arrogant Spanish. I don't speak the language although knowing a bit of Spanish and my O Level French helps. A lot of people speak English and communication isn't a problem. It's currently raining and it even snowed here a couple of years ago. Frosts are common, too. I have been to Derbeyshire and it's lovely. Parts of England are superb, but I'm from Kent and would want to live there - unfortunately getting ruined, these days. And overrun.

Countryside north & on semi montain of Portugal are the paradise ... But it's good to speak Portugese , it's possible with young person to speak in english but the old person no . They are preserved areas of Portugal life style , donkey everywhere , earth working tool from another time, rolling museum at every street corner, people are kind and very welcoming even if suspicious at first sight, everything is beautiful from the houses to the landscape around. P.S : I don't know if the port of Lisbon still has as much charm as it did in 1998, but at the time of my teenage , it left me with the impression of arriving in South America, with its gates patinated by the sun, palm tree everywhere , these pavements no longer very straight, the guards in military costume at the entrance, a small side by the way while being in Europe.

You are right on every level about the old locals and their warmth after initial suspicion. Huh? 168k, that's all? I think Portugal is a DEAL! You'd pay that in nowhere-ville Wyoming and have to drive an hour to get a can of soup- and a long way farther for some culture. I'd say, grab it and growl, and share the mortgage with your holiday tenants, don't make them pay for it all! It's a beautiful place!!! How lovely to have such an appreciation of the country side. Awesome!

There is a property in the village where we live that is for sale. It has more or less than 80 olive trees, so I’m talking about an acre of land. The house is quite new and it’s only selling for €100k.

@@destino2portugal It's only Italian i.e. Venetian name for the Serbian speaking country at Balkans. Westerners cannot pronounce the local name. Crna Gora. Chernogorye in Russian. Yes, you can see it now. Make a search for Mokrine, Herceg Novi. I am not prepared to address any relevant video in this respect so hopefully, you will be satisfied with images you will see after short research. Some people will notice the difference in type of stones used in building process. I see sandstone houses in Portugal. On the other hand you will see limestone houses in Montenegro. For someone, it's irrelevant, for others the texture and colour may be regarded as fundamental features when it comes to housing. Good luck

@@destino2portugal I am a geologist, so that's something I had to stress out. Bearing in mind the structural strength, fresh limestones are far better than sandstones unless the laters are being cemented by calcite or silica in the place of deposition. Okay, bye
