Is This Pool Too Shaded For Solar Pool Heating? In this video, I do a solar site survey to determine if this swimming pool and roof is too shaded for solar panels for pool. Solar Panels For Pool heating is the lowest-cost way to heat inground pools .. but you need to have a sunny roof. Also, the roof should be South, West, Or East and have enough roof space to mount these large rectangle solar panels. I'll show you before and after the solar pool heater installation..

I have a pool in Oregon with a shaded corner to retreat from the sun... I have a pool in the Philippines and the entire pool must be completely shaded in order to lower the temp even just a few degrees

If you want to cool the pool … you can run solar at night time

Thanks so much for the content!.This was exactly was I was looking for online. We have to replace our roof (30 years old - New Jersey). And we have solar pool heater panels up there. They are probably about 15 years old. I am thinking to just get rid of them. I called a local solar guy and he said definitely toss them and that its not worth trying to salvage them. Also, would have to do it myself since no one wants to do it. He said it would compromise an already old set of panels. What do you think?

Glad you found this video helpful! at 15 yrs old the plastic gets brittle... when removing and reinstalling the panels will bend and flex causing leaks ..... 6-15 yrs is life of solar pool heater panels depending on brand and environment.. So yes toss them... and get new ones... you can have roofer cut pipe at gutter and put a cap on pipes ... to prevent debris from going in pipe .. when your ready for solar install the pipes are ready ..
