I love that y’all are located in wisco, bc that’s where I’m from and that just makes these videos so much better/enjoyable to watch (im not far from Madison-ish area)
I picked up a G37x sedan for a damn good deal and it was one of the best dicisions ive made. Sexy car, fun to drive, lots of space, and insurance doesnt want me to sell my soul to drive it.
Yeah, I picked up an M37x about a year ago, I know is a bit bigger but the car is so fun to drive and after an exhaust and intake mods, the car sounds great! Plus it doubled in price since I bought it lol
i started looking at nissan/infinitis about a year ago and found an 08 g35x local for 5k cuz it needed a wheel bearing and the awd transfer case is bad but I found one at a junkyard for $50 so we'll see how that goes. Looking to get it installed this month. slate blue lowered on BC Coils and fx35 20's painted black and stillen exhaust. this thing was a steal.
Mines an 04 I bought about 10 years ago with just over 100K miles. I made the dealer put new tires, new brakes and a new battery in it as a condition of the sale. About 2 years ago the battery finally gave up the ghost at 8 years! Interstate batteries are very good batteries. I had them put Michelin Primacy tires on it and Akibono ceramic brake pads all the way around. The only thing I've had to do in over 10 years of ownership is I just replaced the tires. The brake pads are still good but I'll replace them in a couple of years. The right front wheel bearing went bad. Why is it always the right front? Every wheel bearing replacement video on a G35 is the right front!
I went over to Texas bought my 08 G35S sedan for 5.2k 85k miles 2 and half years ago. Drove it back to the desert in Vegas. Love the car as a daily. It’s on BC coilovers mostly stock,K&N drop in air filters and a decent Admin tune that’s it.
@@e46m54nissansr20937 yeah man everyone talking about the deals they got make me feel like I got scammed on my G 😂😂 paid 10k for a 2011 G37x sedan 114k miles
@@RyeCarter I means it’s still a good deal for the 11 G37. You get the 2010+ slight facelift front end and the 7 speed (if you have auto) and a few other things. Mine is 08
I love my 350GT Coupe (Yes its a skyline). Picked it up for under 8K NZD bone stock 06 auto with 110,000 Kilometers, its such a great car for the price for both daily-ability and performance. Since its a JDM skyline Its got a black leather/suede interior which still looks great in 2022.
The Infiniti G’s never came with a single clutch transmission. It is a torque converter automatic. I also bought a 2007 G35 sedan like this one but in manual for 7k. Best car for the value and it’s my second G!
Driving an 09 g37 sedan rn, absolutely love the car after a year of driving, only compliant is I wish I could’ve gotten a manual trans, and i wish I could find a more affordable way to add power. But no other complaints !
I'm here to tell you that in general G35's are slept on right now, I picked one up a 6MT RevUp on craigslist this last saturday for $6000 in decent condition. They're a bargain right now, sure other cars are faster, but it's still quick, 298hp, rwd, lots of fun to be had. While everyone else is out bidding each other on manual 350Z's and miata's don't forget about the 350's fancier cousin the G35.
This, I got my super clean facelift low K's 350GT Coupe for 7.8K NZD while high K's auto 350z's are getting over 10K NZD. Best choice I ever made + 350z's are way more common that 350GT coupes in New Zealand. I saw a MT 350GT Coupe with 60,000K's sell for only 11K NZD last week. It was actually mint, way better than a molested high K's auto 350z.
Got my 06 g35 for $4k with only 56k miles on it about 3 years back. It had small cosmetic issues that got taken care of. Sure they’re not crazy fast, but they’re definitely not slow. And honestly for the price, the speed and reliability of the VQ’s are very hard to beat right now!
I have a g37x Sedan and I love it. It's definitely a lot more fun to drive than most people realize. People are always shocked when I can keep up with their newer sports cars on curvy back roads in my family sedan lmao.
Ngl... the thing that made me follow and sub to fitment industries was Alex. This guy is like the Linus of cars. Excited to see where he goes next. But will still be subbed to Fi because Dakota and Gels are awesome. But I will miss Alex on this channel
08 G35S sedan here too! I wish I could find an XS, but finding one that's both has been an impossible task at least for me. But yes, I've had this car for 6 years now and it's an amazing platform! Aftermarket support for the sedan is harder to find though rather than the coupe tbh.
@@e46m54nissansr20937 I gotta switch my search to G37's now then I guess, which I'd be 110% ok with. I would just really love to have an AWD S is all! Thanks for that input!
The G35 was my dream car in high school, then came the G37. For years I wanted one but just never could. Fast forward to now and I still haven't owned a G but I do own the bastard cousin, a 2020 Q50.
09 G37X Coupe, snagged some better brakes, rear sway-bar, CAI and SS lines as the base is a bit lack luster. 14K Canadian with 90K KM on the odo now nearly 200K great platform to mod and no issues thus far. Just about to snag an exhaust, coil overs, and some new wheels and she is pretty much set. For the power, reliability and amenities you get the value is almost without equal. Also the coupe is just so sexy.
A G37 sedan with a manual is on my wishlist. I tend to be wary of Nissan/Infiniti in general because of reliability issues, but it really seems like this particular platform and powertrain seems largely problem-free.
@@pushhrodd01The rev ups are the worst for reliability due to oil burning issues. The HRs and VHRs are great. The 03-04 still have oil burning issues but not as bad as a rev ups
I've driven auto (5spd) and manual (6spd obvs), and the problem with at least the 5spd is that the VQ revs out so well, but the auto upshifts way too soon. Manual is definitely preferred. Admittedly, haven't drive the 7spd auto, but also haven't heard great things about it.
XS has an open diff and isn't much different from a regular X. You can swap a rear diff from an S and youll have a VLSD. G35 with the 5 speed has same front diff gearing as the VLSD on a g37s, so you can just swap the rear (need so move flange from original diff to the new one). G37x needs the g35x front diff to do the rear swap. Also, the sedan does come in 6MT, its an S with different shocks and a more aggressive steering rack. Oh, those brakes are an upgrade, the XS comes with sliders, larger than stock, but still sliders. Akebonos only come on XS coupes and S coupes and sedans. I live and love these cars, bought and sold 3 other cars since buying my G... never selling it.
I have an 04 Infiniti G35 sedan, I wish mine had a supercharger. Personally I wouldn't even think about lowering my car because it's already super low from the factory. I heard the supercharger is good for much more than a modest 100hp bump. I've heard of numbers like 1500 thrown around. Mine is totally stock and plenty fast for me. My only complaint is lack of mpg but it's better than lack of power.
Bought my 08 G35 6mt sedan lil over a year ago for 3800 clean title drove it thru this winter in the Poconos mtns daily on 245 nankang ns-25 drifting it all over snow or rain with no mods perfect daily drift car can't wait to build it
Hey Alex for a used car I got to say thank you you just help me get my son's next car and I truly got to say I love watching your platform I love watching your shows thank you
Just got my G35 coupe 04 127k, it’s lowered and on 20s so it’s definitely an driving experience right now. Just working on getting suspension parts and keeping everything working good
Can someone do a BC stroker kit for the VQ. I would do it but I’m caught up in a build already I wish I didn’t start 😂 edit : the giant box mod in the door cracks me up haven’t seen one in years.
I used to own a 2007 G35S 6MT with the Stillen Supercharger. Was making 382 hp and 289 ft-lb torque to the wheels and that was with the catalytic converters on (I live in CA and it was my daily too). Took a while to get the tune dialed in correctly but once it was it was so fun to drive. But life changes and upgraded to a Tesla which is way faster but I do miss the SC whine and having a closer relationship with the car via the manual gearbox
I owned one of these bought it off some dude who traveled between his businesses for 3k. It was fun as hell and for the price I drove it until it shit the bed. The Xs only come in auto mine was the S. I learned a lot on it as far as learning manual and working on my own car. Now I own a 10th Gen Si and I’m super happy with it. But I’ll have a soft spot for my 08 G35s
@@e46m54nissansr20937 I’m assuming it was just too many electronic issues probably grounds, it would randomly lose power but never throw codes. The guy I sold it to wrecked his and just needed a chasis to swap his setup into so it worked out for both parties. I bought it at 100k miles and I got rid of it at 180k with only wear and tear items put into it. And a whole lot of oil. @ArthurWall
@@e46m54nissansr20937 trust me the v36 G35S is well worth it just get the 6MT and throw the akebono kit on it since it didnt come with a BBK for the S models for those years only. I have one with 202k miles on it and i literally drive it harder than anyone does their daily. Really good platform just throw a clutch kit in it too and go to some true style rear coilovers (maybe some BCs) and a toe and camber arm setup in the rear, diff brace, and diff bushing kit. Wheels and call it a day amazing engine as it is an HR and just as capable as the VHR. Also early years for HRs and VHRs have a galley gasket issue just a cheap part but like a 10hr labor job and that will be hard to catch im sure many of these cars went that way. Only random things replaced on this car was that gasket and an alternator in that time everything else was preventative maintenance and driven in salty winters.
@@brendanminecraftfilm My guy I appreciate the info and passion but I own an 08 HR S sedan. You are 100% right especially the part where you said the HR is just as capable as the VHR. Lol
I drive an 06' G35 Coupe, and the fact that Alex just did this video makes me very happy. I ran out to my car, and told her Alex loves her! And so do I! Even if she just turned 50k 😘
yooo what is the song playing during the second drop, too smooth! the song choice on these vids is always top tier, plus hope to see more of Alex in the future
I just picked up a 2007 fully loaded G35 two wheel drive ...has the option up (S wheels) for 8995.00....so much sexy and bang for the buck performance/ luxury......I would recommend this car to anyone even enemies...but start with a 07 as they have better frame and better upgrade interiors plus upgraded motor ....not the same motor as 03 to 06 .....
2010 g37xs lightly modified and honestly don’t see me buying any other car lmao. Does everything and I installed apple CarPlay adapter so I’m never selling to getting a new car
I've never been into banners, but the rest of the car is pretty amazing. I am not into automatics either, but I guess you can't have it all. It sounds pretty sick though.
I love my 06 g35x sedan, except for some of the headaches it's caused me over the past year. Some of those were maintenance related (just under 119k, quickly started to realize the p/o didn't really do more than the bare minimum), and some of those were related to aftermarket parts I bought. My radiator popped about a year ago, then last fall both of my e-fans failed at the same time, the factory 6 disc changer has started to refuse to read discs, lots of little things. On the aftermarket side I've had issues with a certain company's coolant overflow & power steering reservoirs to the point where I just went back to stock & threw those in the woods. And I got about 4 years out of GKtech's rear control arms before they all started snapping heim joints. I'm in the process of replacing those with much higher quality/price SPL arms because I'm sick of the bullshit.
living in socal with this exact car (despite mine being a base model lol) i was starting to really regret buying it because of all the takeover stuff giving it such a bad rep, this video was refreshing and im excited to do more with it. too bad my wheels don’t fit on it tho 🥲
Rethink ur strategy before taking the plunge on fixing up a base model. I regret doing it to my last journey G37 sedan and converted everything to mimic a sports model then sold it and just bought a sport. Do it right the first time. Good luck!
- This guy… 😆😆 Let us see your car… Yeah I’m new to the channel, so if I missed seeing your spaceship vehicle, point out the video. 🧐 So that I can be amazed at the futuristic technology that you are driving. 😄🙃
