July Firmware update 5.11 14 now gives in Advanced Options 'Halo Light Standby off' so when you are not using the Charger the Wallbox doesn't have the Green glowing light which previously was always on.
Hi Nick. Have seen your Indra Smart Pro review, I think I'm more leaning on this Wallbox charger now. One thing I wanted to ask, the standard schedule charging, how reliable is that? I have a Pod Point charger which has scheduling features but it is super unreliable because the schedule is stored on Pod Point servers and if there's any loss of internet then it will immediately revert to a dumb charger and just charge the car to full. I'm curious as to know whether the Wallbox keeps the set schedule on the device and what happens when the Wallbox loses connection to the internet. Thoughts?
Was looking at this one earlier in the week, but it seems like the 7.4kw version only comes with a 5m cable, there is a 7m cable which is probably the minimum I can get away with but that only comes on the 22kw 3 phase version, which doesn't have pen fault protection built in (and I don't have a 3 phase supply).

Hi Nick. Really great and comprehensive video. I have a wallbox with phase 1 tethered cable. I wondered if I could replace the type 1 cable with a tethered type 2 cable? Many thanks

Other than the replaced tethered cable, I assume everything else with the wallbox wouldn’t be affected i.e software, app functionally etc.? Many thanks
@@thomasnightingale192 just had a quick look at my video footage but i can't see if wallbox made this solder joints or if there on quick release wagos meaning the cable swap is easy, worse case an engineer could snip them internally and join with wagos them self inside the casing

Yep will work fine but only on single phase of course, if your solar is 3phase connected system your be better getting a 3 phase charger with a 3 phase power boost
Hi Nick, I've got an old (dumb) Rolec at the moment. I'm getting a new car in a few weeks (upgrading from a Leaf to a Kona). Do you know if the OLEV grant would apply again to upgrade the charger to something like a Wallbox
I'm pretty sure you can't get the grant a second time, *EDIT* I stand corrected, I just found this OZEV Eligibility Checklist You have dedicated off-street parking. You have not already claimed the grant for your electric car. By claiming the grant, you are not exceeding the limit of two OZEV funded charging points per household
Hi David if you old both cars in your name at the same time you can have a 2nd OLEV charger fitted, however you technically can't have one replaced just an additional one added. Your question has raised an interesting point that maybe I need to do a video with ll this on. PS OLEV is now OZEV they had a name change not long ago.
Hi! I dont have solar pannels but i want to balance energy between my devices and the EV, inside my house. Do i need the power booster for that? Thank you
Hi Nick, I am a qualified electrician and have primarily fitted Zappi's in the past, I installed one of these last week at a property and it worked fine for a few weeks but now is displaying an error on the app and red ring on the unit. It has been installed onto a 32a B curve breaker within the consumer unit, it is around 20 metres from the consumer unit. Wallbox have not been helpful at all and their UK customer service telephone number does not work! The error on the app gives no information as to the problem. Also the latest version they send out does not have that link cable between ports 3 and 5 and instead these ports are filled with silicone. Can you think of any reason why the unit may be creating this error? I am at a loss.
The loop sounds like it’s now been jointed somewhere else hint the missing loop and silicon… Regarding error won’t be anything prior to unit causing error so breaker etc won’t matter if it was tripping that be different. My guess is faulty unit or software error could even be customer car causing error did you test charge on equipment? What car is it? What’s earthing?

Hi nick great video, have you ever connected up two pulsar plus's to one supply using load sharing? It doesn't seem right to me, I've got someone asking me to add a second one.
Hey Mark am not a Sparkie so only had this one they sent me for review but from memory there’s 2 possible ways to do this, one is using the dynamic load balance meter I showed in video and other is putting a link between the 2 chargers
Do you know if it's possible to turn down the lights on the front with the app? I like the indication they provide but would want the option of making sure they aren't too bright.
If I order the charger with a type 1 tethered cable, does the company allow the cable to be upgraded to a type 2 cable in future? I've got a Leaf 30kWh which needs a type 1 but all newer EVs have a type 2. I want something that'll work today with my Leaf but I don't want to be stuck. Therefore, I either need to go with an untethered charger or go with one where they support changing the cable to a type 2 in future.
@@NicolasRaimo great suggestion. I looked into this a while back and the only ones I could find were ones that seemed like they were hacked together. Is there a certified one available for sale that's built by a reputable company?
Not to me. Looks to me like a candybox, plastic toystore disco toy to me. But I love it's size! If it had a more elegant, brushed steel look or so I'd more like it. Also not a fan of the big text in the middle. I prefer product names to be a small badge.
@@NicolasRaimo My pulsar plus is about 3 months old now, it somehow fried my switchboard. I got that all fixed up, only remaining issue is the EV charger you can't connect via bluetooth or wifi. It's a 'dumb' charger. Support are still asking generic questions 1 month later.
@@stopabuslane Go back to who fitted it and demand a replacement under you consumer rights, your within the time frame that its still the installer who needs to sort it
Will be brutal. They are awful. Domestic not to bad with 6mm cable but when installing 10mm 5 core three phase they are junk. Also they are teathered and look a mess. Anderson Hypervolt Even Zappi which is a fantastic nit of kit if not a bit ugly all look better.
