Just bought my mattress! So excited! I hope it does the trick. Thanks so much, two most famous physical therapists on the internet! :-D Review: The mattress itself is really soft and comfortable. There's no edge support so it's harder to get out of. The mattress shrinks so it doesn't fit the bedframe and sheets slip off of it because they're too large. I've contacted the company about the dimensions not matching the description several times, and their solution is to stretch it, but it shrinks every day and is a pain to stretch. If this mattress is made for people with back problems, they physically cannot stretch it. I'm not a tall person, but my feet slide off the end of the bed. That's how much it's not the correct size, but the company refuses to solve the problem. The individual springs poke me in the spine causing more irritation. I used to like this mattress because of how it conforms to my body, but I can feel each spring, and it's like being poked in several places. I would not recommend this mattress to anyone, especially if Sleepovation, and this is not Bob and Brad's fault at all, can't get their mattress size flaws sorted out and customer support realized.
I updated my post with a review. I apologize if anyone is disappointed in it. I had high hopes and was let down by Sleepovation. I respect Bob and Brad.
I was wondering the same thing. Chimpanzees sleep on their backs on straw on the ground from what I've seen in zoos. I figured since they are biologically so similar to us then that might be a good way to sleep. But when I try sleeping on the floor I'm in unbearable pain within ten minutes so go figure...
Interesting. But I suspect that in the wild they would sleep in trees where it is safer and out of the reach of predators, although I could be wrong. I'm just not interested enough in them to go research it. Have you tried sleeping on a gym mat (on the floor)? A soft gym mat can be purchased at Amazon, and other places online. But only for sleeping on back, not side sleepers.
My sleepovation queen mattress is being delivered today and even though I've never tried it, I believe bob and brad ...well, I've had my sleepovation for a week and its absolutely awesome..so happy..can't wait for my pillow now
I bought this mattress based on their review. The matress may be great for back pain, but the company itself is not trust worthy. If I were Bob and Brad I'd not promote Sleep Ovation at all. Their customer service is terrible. My mattress was 4 inches shorter than it should have been. I ended up returning the mattress and purchasing locally. Sleep Ovation seems like a fly by night company. I'd read reviews before purchasing a mattress from them costing well over $1k for a king.
Purchased this mattress from Sleep Ovation based on your recommendation. It was wonderful for the first three months, then my husband and I experienced severe hip pain. (We are both side sleepers) Called the company to ask about a return and found out we are just passed the 100 day trial period for returns/reimbursement. The customer service representative suggested rotating the mattress and putting on a topper. Slept in my son’s IKEA single regular bed one night just to see if it made a difference. When I awoke in the morning, my hip pain was not there. Very disappointed in this $1300.00 queen sized mattress. It definitely was a costly mistake.
"We offer a 10-year limited warranty that covers material and performance defects." Well they say they offer warranty for performance defects...so find out what are the performance degradations and talk with them. They need to fix the problem. It does not make sense than just after 3 months you get pain all of a sudden.
I need a good mattress that will accommodate my ever changing sleep patterns. I sleep on my back, then move to my left side then move to my right side. I will look into this mattress...
I bought one because I trust their recommendation. Was great at first. In 9 months it has broken down and gotten so squishy that I can't use it . I'm screwed as I can't afford a new mattress. Wonder if they are getting paid for their endorsement.
Another great wheel chair cushion is technogel. It’s VERY similar in concept, just a water-based gel “tower” design rather than air. They make a seat cushion, (original prototype was specifically FOR ideal wheel chair, anti-decubitus) and they make a mattress too.
Hi guys! I watch you guys for all sorts of issues. I really appreciate your humor and practical solutions to everyday problems. As far as the mattress is concerned, is there a weight "limit" on the mattress? My husband has back pain and is a big guy - over 6' tall and about 250#. Would he sink down too far in this mattress and get pressure from the coils under the "little mattresses"? Thanks!
Could really use one of these SleepOvation mattresses. They look so comfy. The design is a good one. I hope the new company does well and the mattresses prove to have a long life. Thanks for another interesting video!
I have to ask as someone with all.of the mentioned issues and being a side sleeper so you really recommend this mattress? Have either of you actuslly slept on it or had someone sleep on it for you? I'd hate to take the recommendation and just to find out you did this sponsored video for the money
Wonderful informative video - love the humour between you guys, laughed out loud - I just returned a foam mattress so I'm in the market and I appreciate your endorsement and honesty - I just hope they deliver to us 'snow birds' here in the north - cheers from Canada
You guys are top notch. I would love that mattress. I have fibromyalgia and polymyalgia athritica and I'm going to be 72, it would be a nice Birthday gift.
It seems that when you have a sheet on the mattress, it would not allow for the individual cells to compress. Not sure if it’s a gimmick or not. Wouldn’t mind trying it.
i have had back problems for most of my adult life and this seems to be the answer to my "dreams"...pardon the pun. too bad it is soooo expensive..people on fixed incomes can't afford this! what else ya got.
so for those of us that can't afford this, where should we place the pillows or support foam when sleeping on our back or sides to alleviate those pressure points? There are so many conflicting information on the internet.
I would say under the natural spine curve that is not touching the mattress if you are lying down. On the side of your stomach if your side sleeping. Idea is to increase point of contact with the mattress to spread that pressure
Tried a twin-expensive. I bought one about 16 months ago. It has started to sag these past couple of months. It feels lumpy and I sleep horribly! I have lower back problems, 120 lbs, and a side sleeper. I would not buy again and I am in search of a new mattress. The best ones that I have had were a Stearns and Foster 30 years ago and a cheap twin mattress that I bought at a mom and pop store years ago that lasted at least 10 years. I did not like the Saatva firm that sagged. Perhaps the mattress from Sleepovation 700 is best for back sleepers only. ??
I bought a new mattress a year ago, so I could give my old one to my son who was getting his own apartment. Well I paid $700 I could not afford, and I HATE it! has that hideous cushion top, the old one was a normal, smooth, fairly firm mattress. I maybe need to trade him back! Is there anything I can get to put on top of my too-soft, sucks me in, no support mattress, to fix it?
$1500 for a twin with the discount. Looked comfortable but not in my wheelhouse. I keep trying to win one so far no luck. Currently sleeping on a bunch of couch pillows which are more comfortable then my 20 year old mattress
David Epstein iPod earphones are terrible dude. Especially the official air pods. Get cheap in ear buds and they'll be louder. Or just unplug headphones.
I'm really lost on a new bed. I'm a side sleeper and I get shoulder pain. I'm a big guy, 6'6" at 300lbs. I'm really wondering if I should try this. Over the last three years, watching your channel and help from the good doc here in town, I've hit the gym, lost some weight, fixed the pain in my knees (it's gone!), fixed the pain in my achilles (it's gone!) and all I have left to complain about after strengthening everything is should and lower back pain. My bed is broken. I'm torn between Purple and this. I wonder if your opinion changed or updated over the years.
Do you any current discounts going on for this mattress? September 2022. I have a bad case of scoliosis and kyphosis and think this mattress could honestly help a ton! Unfortunately I cannot afford to spend the money at this point in time
Is the sleep "tiny mattresses" better for a person with scoliosis, thoracic or lower back curvature. Doesn't that reinforce the condition? Also is this the best way to ask a question. Thank you.Alice
I want to know how long you guys sleep on a sleepovation mattress to know it's good for people with bad back , it's dozens of videos out there everyone claims that there mattress is the one.
8 months or so. Clearly the best mattress I have ever slept on. For me personally I like the way it supports my low back especially in supine position.
@@BobandBrad Hello. Are you still sleeping on this mattress? I think I may need to return the Puffy I just got yesterday. It's really hard. I feel midway down 19 wooden steps hit my back on each one about six years ago. Then two years ago, we got rare sleet and I didn't realize the front steps were already frozen and had my second fall on worn steps on the front porch. I never went to see anyone after both falls because I didn't have insurance, and my back had never been the same. So, I'm looking for the best mattress for back pain that I endure daily.
It depends on your mobility and needs. For a healthy and mobile person I see no need for the adjustable bases. I had a sales person sell my mother one with her bed for an extra 1000 dollars with the sales pitch. She never uses it. LOL This was before I was involved with beds at all.
I have the Sleepovation and I can honestly say I LOVE it. Remember, Sleepovation has a 100 day trial with their product and they will uphold it. You must have a solid surface for this mattress, as noted in their website. I used plywood as they suggested.
I am interested in buying a mattress. if you go on the site it brags how brilliant they are, there are lots of reviews. yet I cant find out how to buy one, what a strange way of selling something. you think they would make it easy to buy. I cant find the bit that lets me buy it. I HAVE NOW GIVEN UP!!
I''m so confused. I'm on my third mattress trail and its stilling giving me pain. I am a side sleeper. So lots of pressure points on my shoulders and hips. Do you get a soft or medium mattress? Some pls help
i have chronic low back pain in what seems to be my lumbar spine (both "love handle" areas) and very tight in center low back. It is difficult for me to do the "superman" stretch mainly lifting my legs causes pain and tightness. I was able to do this with ease in the past and now seem to be very weak and restricted with pain. any thoughts?
Had an amazing channel for awhile. Now you’re pushing sponsored products. Seems more like an infomercial. Do you guys really believe this is a great mattress?
Teresa Schmidt the thing is people like me do like the video that doesn't mean they aren't pushing products to make money and have never actually tries the product with some one that has the issues they mentioned and truly believe in the product
Absolutely not pushing products frivolously! These are items that help people. They are physical therapists - it's part of their profession. I SO appreciate their recommendations and the discounts available through them. You do not have to buy them and don't ruin the help they are giving to people with some of these products they bring to us just because you don't need them.
anyone had the wonderful experience of their cat peeing on a sleepovation mattress? it reached the individually wrapped foam blocks. suggestions on cleaning?
I have subscribed to you guys a long time! Thanks for your quality work...Question: I have one of those sitting pads which is awesome. But, being familiar with that sitting pad, I have two questions about the mattress. 1.) I have nerve pain running down my leg. Will the mattress aggravate my pain? I tend to sleep on a medium firm bed so that I don't sink down as with typical memory foam which, when my leg contacts it, sets the nerve on fire. 2.) How would you describe sex on the Sleepovation? I imagine it would be full of fumbling as though you were having sex in a ball pit. Or is is like a memory foam? Or an innerspring? You are brave, honest guys so I know you'll have the confidence to answer! Thank you both.
This is a medium mattress, but not a memory foam. It has the top layer of 700 individual cells made of foam but under each is coil spring offering great support throughout the mattress.
I had one of these mattresses and it was like sleeping on a marshmallow, and not in a good way. I am a large woman and it offered absolutely no support at all.
Hello Christine - if the mattress doesn't turn out to be the right fit for you within the first 100 nights, we'll arrange for the mattress to be removed from your home and provide a full refund.
