In this video I think you not only show why people should buy the S88 keyboard, but also why people shouldn't buy ProTools. I left the avid ship two years ago and switched to Logic and I am so happy I did it.

I've used both Protools and Logic for over 20 years and finally left Avid due to its corporate fascist subscription plans. I love Logic for midi and its great library content but I loath it for queries) audio editing. Protools was the best for audio IMHO. How do you find using Logic for audio editing after coming from a Protools background? Cheers

I have S61 and like but don't love it. I think Komplete Kontrol is best for Komplete libraries. I used mostly Kontact libraries and it operates like a standard controller mostly, e.g. light guide does not show up for 3rd party's software. Like you, I like the ability to audition presents and make selections. So far I don't see a way for marking favorites to speed up the process but I am a newbie with it. Much like M-Audio VIP software, it wants to control all softsynths. That is good in some ways but adds complexity. I do like the potential to control Ableton and of course Logic if you have it. The 61 keys are OK although I like Kronos keys better. Having full Kontact there is a lot of software. But probably better integrated with Komplete. Due to expense and complexity, I would have to give more thought about the purchase but I am warming up to it. I did save money buy getting a used one with license transfer.

So how do you like the keys? I literally hate plastic ones, I have had Yamaha CP4 for the last 8 years, now thinking of getting this one.

Looking to get this desk for my s88, but the s88 height is 11.5cm and the desk/drawer clearance is 11cm (according to their web pages). Does the drawer push in ok without the keyboard knobs catching?

The problem with MAudio is that they tend not to update the driver as fast as it should. Many of my devices from MAudio goes outdated very fast....Only few years.

Yeah, it does now. There were some issues when I moved to M1 but it seems ok atm

Great video, thank you! However, the keyboard is 29.1 lbs, 13.2 kg. Still, relatively light.

Not sure what keyboard you are looking at, but the S88 (MKII) that you have is 29 lbs, 13 kg... Not 9 lbs, 4.5 kg...

I've had the S88 MK2 for over a year now. Its FANTASTIC, but ONLY when it is USB connected to PC/Mac, and ONLY if it is using its own software/plugins. Otherwise, it connects to NOTHING AT ALL. It won't do anything but sit there with blue lights on it. You cannot use this as a regular MIDI controller, without it being connected to a running PC, USB AND your MIDI cables. It DOESN"T WORK ALONE. Such a tragedy... going into the attic.

It's not an 8 octave keyboard - more like 7 octaves. 4.5 kg?? No 13.2 kg. I left right there, You clearly dont know, what you are talking about.
