Hi Scott I never even noticed you had a speech impediment, I also have one and know how hard some words are to say, but I’m an avid follower of your videos and every video is clear and understandable, so I hope if you ever felt self conscious you don’t need to worry anymore. Hope lockdown is lifting for you soon.

Bro, you really have passion for your work. Everything is so tidy organized, reveling the love for what you do. It is remains me of when I started working as a handyman here in California, then became a pro-painter and thought about having my own company. Talking about tools and strategies for work projects was what kept me motivated. I am 32 y/o now with twin girls and a body that feels overworked, I didn't take good care of it(too much overtime for family reasons). Now I have to worry about the future of my girls and I feel that I have to prepare for my inevitable future as well. I got a good/stable job as painter and I don't have to worry about buying tools for projects of my own. This gives me peace of mind for now and the future. However, I still want to live the life you are enjoying today bro. Be as enthusiastic for what you do bro. Cheers Scott, God bless you and keep the good work!!

That's an incredibly functional and organized way of loading up a van. Best part is that you made all of it yourself. Kudos on some of the cinematography you include in your work, that's a nice touch. You can get kits to add on features like back-up cameras and Bluetooth radios to these older vehicles. Its usually very simple to have that added and knowing how clever you are, you could likely do it yourself. You can even go for window scrolling mechanism as well, they just pop a motor inside the door panel and slip a cog over where the handle normally sits and voila!

The stealth mounts are a great idea, I know of a plumber who used to just throw his batteries in the back loosely, until one of them shorted out on some wire wool, totally gutted his van, lithium iron batteries are very dangerous if not stored properly. I've got about 14 Bosch 18 v batteries, and I always keep them in the tools, the new bosch sds plus has mounts built into the case to store spare batteries.

I recently took all my saw brackets off my saws, and mounted one set to a piece of plywood and put a cleat across the back. So I put the “saw table” on the stand, then I can just use any saw, and the saws take up less space when stored.

Nice. I’m a handyman in Oz. Have a flat-top platform like you and rear pullout drawers but built with no expensive drawer-sliders; approx $50/drawer with same weight ability. I’m on version 3.0 now as you demonstrate customising it to your personal optimal setup is key. Took me ages to realise which tools and consumables I need every day ( basic tools plus paints, plastering repairs etc) then the ability to add benchsaw etc Key to mine was ability to be ablle ro carry 2400x1200 sheet on top. Handy when raining AND can be used for camper awning etc!Q!!

I had a Merc MB140D as a courier van back in 2000, large enough to take my whole days deliveries instead of 3 trips with the Hi-Ace. If you had a frontal the engine was designed to drop and roll under the chassis and the steering wheel would colapse and move forward; it was also cheaper than a new Hi-ace; only downside was 1 side door on the passengers side.

@@luckyluke8052 I think you’ve answered your own question. Suppliers dried up so I had to change tack, lots of scaremongers and over reactors closing places so they could claim furlough and stay home. They all went to the open spaces that are usually great peaceful dog walks, they made lots of noise and left all there rubbish. Screwfix kept me ticking over.

Hey buddy! Awesome videos I have been following you for sometime now and I enjoy watching your content You are right when you mentioned in the video that the safety of the van and where you foot rests. My old man had the same van but the SWB hiace a few years ago and was involved in a car accident when a ambulance rear ended him and pushed him forward into 3 other cars at full speed of the ambulance. The frontage on the hiace isn’t safe as dads feets and legs got crushed by the impact of the front end with the steering column shooting up into his ribs crushing his rib cage and braking his jaw… 5 years later and unfortunately his now crippled The new hiace is definitely a improvement and as you said a lot safer

In addition to the improved crash protection on the new HiAce's, they're also a considerably larger vehicle. The rear door for example is much more 'square' than the 2006 rectangle.

I’ve been in hiaces for the last 10 years, ranging from 2004 model year to present and the newest one is so far ahead of the old design. If you’re thinking about getting one you will not be disappointed! comfortable, quiet and safe. I can easily look past the shorter cargo area with all these benefits, you learn to use the extra width you have over the length. Sorry if this started to sound a bit erotic towards the end 😆

In ireland they have taken 'hiace' off the market. Can only get 'proace'. Which is way too small for builders/carpenters etc. Its a real shame as the hiace was the van of choice for donkeys years

Only two engine options available here, the 1GD-FTV 2.8L diesel, which has been a bit questionable in terms of reliability over the past few years, or the 2GR-FKS 3.5L V6 petrol, which is a brilliant engine, but an absolute gas guzzler
