Sorry lads, Portadown Defenders and the Auld Boys paraded Portadown on July 13th 2011 with 8 colour party, 4 drum majors, 32 drums, 4 cymbals, 5 bass drummers, 80 flutes and 2 marshalls making a total of 134 members. It was simply breathtaking.

There was a parade in glencairn in. Late 80s called the 1000. Flutters parade was way bigger than this if anyone remembers it including accordion bands at the end

Limavady used to have a huge band every 11th night. Called the Mad MacNamara it was an amalgamation of all the bands in the area and was always much bigger than this.
weve had bigger bands than that theres us shankill protestant boys and on whiterock parade 2011 we had 25 drummers and 50 flutes and 6 bass drummers and so yeah there lyk 15 bands bigger...
I reckon a lot are just band members for the day, wearing a white shirt, whereas the CPB's have a crest on their backs and the name on the front. Those that are CPB should at least try and get a uniforn if it means just going down to Primark and buying the same colour trousers, the collection of jeans make them look like shabby.
We loved Moneydig band and I knew many of the band members. I was always so excited to watch and listen to them playing with their true hearts and souls. Millrow was the band I followed in Tobermore and I watched the two bands play together in coleraine . It was spectacular.
Hillcluney in Banbridge, Pride of the Hill Rathfriland with Kilcluney Volunteers Markethill, not sure of numbers but they were bigger than that, great effort though! FGAU
The type of flutes they are playing are B flat flutes, not piccolos that are played in flute choirs etc and Orchestras. l would not class them as fifes though. Flies are played in front of the big Drums, l can't say the name of the drum on here because I pad dose not Respond to it.
Its not a "Mass" band, Mass is something that is celebrated in a Roman Catholic Church. This isnt even a "Massed Band" ( correct spelling) a Massed Band is where a number of different bands come together as one. This is in fact an extremely large single Flute Band.
Flute bands have an optimal finite size. Once it begins to get too big the back cant hear the front, cant keep time, the front cant hear the back. The problems are endless. Very difficulkt to do
