Kudos to the amount of editing and production you do... I can't think of another iRacer that does it this way. I know it's always there but it really shone through on this video.

Wow, some terrible racing decisions there. To be fair, the Red Bull Ring does seem to bring out the worst in drivers. Close racing, tricky corners and needing to be on the edge of track limits to have decent pace. Funnily enough I've been exactly where O'Connor was, getting a P2 across the line and getting a post race penalty due to a mistake in that very series of corners (though this was SF23).

100% David - deceptively simple track to drive but to go quick the margin for error is super small!

Love the content Ben - Nice to see a fellow Geordie doing well! Noticed you struggled on the starts so thought I'd share a quick tip that works for me. Max throttle at the start and clutch set to 20%. Give it a go in practice. :)

This week has absolutely tanked my safety rating, and I can honestly say that I’ve only 1x’d myself a few times on track limits all week. Everything else has been people losing their car into me, or braking so late they lock up and take me out. Over 1 whole rating point, down from mid 4’s to low 3’s… not a fan of this combo or this track with Super Formula either haha. Oh well, such is racing I guess. Gotta build it back next week hopefully.

Hi. Nice Videos...can you tell wich overlay you use?. I am using iOverlay but i am not that happy whit it.

Hi Miguel! The overlay is RaceLab Apps - there’s a free and a paid for version. Google it and you should find it!

The old unsafe pit entry penalty. Some great overtakes there Ben. Have to be happy. Need to work on getting it off the line. Super to have you back. Does this mean you have a new wheelbase?

7:05 Hey mom ! Look I'm on TV ! I'm a bit mad that my race ended so stupidly. Like either reverse and go full left, or stay where you're are on the right. But don't reverse and randomly stop to be right on the middle lmao Great video tho !

Cheers James - I know it was just too dull from my POV to make the cut! I haven’t done another open setup session yet - the fixed was the next one I made it into and then quickly started the edit! Will try to give it a whirl this weekend!

hey ben, glad you and the cannel are doing good :) i might reassemble my rig this weekend and race again after a long break from iracing. i want to focus on a single car but this might be a bit to dangerous for the beginning, isn't it? :P maybe i'll stick to the mx-5 for a few weeks or do you have a recommendation? my favourite car always was the F3. looking forward to catch up with your videos.

@@Ben_LaBroca i enjoy the Super Formula Lights a but i don't like the schedule. F4 has a great schedule imo but i don't get along with car. i also like gt3 and ferrari schedule. gonna be difficult to decide..

Seeing the folks with F1 liveries always makes me nervous, my Formula IR is far higher than my actual pace simply from just keeping my head down and staying out of trouble.

As a new dad, would love to know how you balance sim racing with real life responsibilities? I feel like sim racing takes a lot of practice as opposed to other games you can just pick up easier

@@ginger-viking hey man! So it’s definitely tricky at times. Being a dad basically means I race maybe 3 times a week max, very often once or twice. To help with that I try to focus on cars and tracks I know to minimise practice needed, I focus on fixed setup races and shorter race distances. And I’m not very quick - tending to focus on getting home safely. iRacing is amazing for this because even at a lower iRating you can have really competitive racing! There’s a few sim racing dads in my discord - feel free to swing by and join the support group 😂😂

Welcome back! Gnarly end to the first race… just when you think you’ve survived the danger, it bites you HARD! Great driving in race two… definitely wise to use those run-off areas at the start. A slow-down and a 1x is definitely the lesser of two evils, compared to a missing wing or wheel! Great to see you back racing 😃
