Uhhh...This hike is hard. Colchuck Lake is 130 miles east of Seattle and about a 2.5 to 3 hour drive. It is highly regarded as one of the, if not the most, beautiful destination hikes in all of Washington. But that doesn't mean it is easy. It is also one of the hardest hikes in Washington with more than 2,400+ feet of elevation gain and at least a 9-mile roundtrip (I did 13 with all of my side quests). That's not the only hard thing about it either. Because of its popularity, during peak season (June-October), the parking lot has been known to fill up by 5:30 a.m. Make sure to have a backup hike planned if you can't get parking for Colchuck. Make sure to pack plenty of water and some food as well. Please be prepared for the strenuous hike! Just one more time...it's really hard. Go do stuff. Thanks for stopping by.
