I think the biggest siege i defended was 800 vlandians in rovalt i was a merc we had 400 -500 ! We took out 1 siegtowers and could jam the frongate so they focus on the gate and ladders! And rovalt have a 2 wall so you can go on that! And i still don't know why the ai didn't wait! After the battle another army of 1000-1100 came! But i could go out and destroy their equipment and they peace out!

I kinda wish there was a stamina bar or kinda like the RBM with the posture system. I hate seeing a peasant block my two handed swing with a one handed block with a tiny dagger. I think having higher agility would replenish the stamina bar faster and at 330 it would almost instantly be back to max. But being able to break an enemies block would add a bit more to the game
@@brettsalisbury1527 you can add better combat mod And adjust crush through chance for everybody Its must have mod for Heroes I use better atribute mod And you can add % Chance for Crash through Slice through And cut through chance by % per atribut poin

sir btw im curious as ur solid follower. can you give me a suggestion. or what did you do i ur mid game or early? do you become a vassal? or you just grind and start your own kingdom? i really dont know what best to do.
I was a vassal until it was obvious my troops and power was stronger than the local fief owners. Then I picked a defensive spot(Ustokol castle), and rebelled, making our own kingdom).
@@DwightEdradaDiaries best way is to join a Vassalage. When ruler die you become ruler of that kingdom than you give dragon banner to yourself and enjoy world war(If you are not selected as Ruler don't panic and go war with factions and take as much lords to your Army, when kingdom lose power they will vote for new Ruller). After you unite the Calradia and your kids are eligable than you can leave the kingdom with all fiefs and create another one and promote your 2 Party leaders trained for leadership/medic/tactic companion's as Clan leaders(keep them in your army or they will be prisoned very soon and they will not respawn until they hit higher clan level). When you get fiefs you like to own than you can make another 2 Clan leaders. And replace them with older brother kid lvl20+ then yours and young brother kids lvl 25+ keep your wife with 3kids and wait for lvl 35+ to make 2 other. If you play sandbox than make 4kids and keep 5-6th for later(make sure it's a boy). If you get lucky your wife can die by childbirth and make another wife.
That less DMG mod is bad for range weapons. In RBM they rework rangers and also add more rangers to the wall defence. So this mod make bow + crossbow + throwing weapons tresh becouse of limited ammunition on the field battle. I use better DMG mod witch is adjustable but probably easier will be to use RBM with AI module disabled but on other side it will change your companion equipment. (AI is responsible for longer battle where field battle is excellent but in siege i found some issues + they dont pull leaders and dont cover and are vulnerable to catapult) Is there any command to open or close gate? If I go outside the gate they dont let me come back and have to crash the door.
When u pick up arrows and javelins. Does it spawn in at the same lvl as what u had or do u suddently throw a bent stick with needle? Or bent arrows that dont do damage?
Pretty sure everything, including javelins act like they were your original arrows. Probably too hard to code on the fly, though I have never tested this.
Do you think the half damage mod would help someone learn to be more tactical? Seems to me it would buy some more time to then better apply tactics in a current battle.
Yes very true but to be sure it would favor infantry especially shock troops and cavalry over range units especially archers because infantry could close for melee in many cases were before they would be killed. Also archers would run out of arrows more readily. All that said it would probably balance things pretty well for an open field battle removing some of the overpowered nature of ranged units and strengthening melee and cav.
@HeadlessHorsemanProductions Awesome thanks for the info! Going to have to give it a try in one of my next runs. I have a few hundreds hours into the game but never put much thought behind playing it other than f6 and letting the sergeants take over. Just defended a seige using an identical setup, 200 vs 2000 came out on top with the remaining 400 retreating. Also don't know if you've shared or mind sharing but what branch and mos? Army 88m here, anyways love the videos.

@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions i like your standard damage vids better. But ofc. I enjoy long sieges that you do too. And if that means half damage mods is needed im ok with it. I just hope you aint gonna stop with the standard damage
I'd like to ask. How can I set up my siege defense like this? Is there an option setting in the menu? Because everytime I break in and and help the defense on a siege it always just start immediately. It just delagate command when the battle starts.

Very late-game campaign, so a lot of family members and wives. You level them through combat, missions and just playing a lot. Unfortunately there's no super-easy hack way I can share with you...
@@RandomClip663 you need high level companion only if you want to promote them as clan leaders. Best way is to smelt expensive 2h swords 6xfine steel(very fast up to lvl20 make sure to pick 75 athletic skill). Second best is make 4 ballista when siege and make sure your companion's takeover control. Than acceptable is make them party leader or governors or let them mounted rangers and kill big warband of looters. For family members you just need to remember that father level = kid level. Use smelting to get boys lvl25+ before marriage
