Old Boy takes a deep dive into the Gameplay BETA of the up and coming Storror Parkour Pro. Gameplay Montage - • STUNNING Parkour Gamep... Hole In The Sleeve Development Streams - / @holeinthesleeve Storror - / @storror
Thanks for checking out the game! This is still pre pre pre pre pre alpha and our current EA is primarily a tool to help us test the core of our animation tech. We'll be refining and adding lots more mechanics now that the codebase is pretty solid! Should start to feel and look more like a game and less of a tech test very soon!
A real pleasure! Genuinely excited about the game, and what it could mean for traversal and character animation in general going forward. You could be really be breaking some ground here and I’m routing for ya! Looking forward to playing the new builds as they arrive, good luck and keep grinding!
Great suggestion mate and I’m already on it, putting together a vid now! In the meantime Check out yesterday’s livestream ru-vid.comJZ_kBFh1pEA?si=3qdB03dhmRHbS74K
Here it is mate! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-m2ziOLzya-4.htmlsi=GLTk6GrXrdpZQEzB Thanks for the suggestion! I gave you a shoutout at the end of the vid!
Man I'm watching Storror videos for quite a long time now even if I'm not into parkour and I must say both the beta gameplay and your quality of video looks amazing!
This is looking VERY rough for a beta. Feels more like a buggy pre-alpha test build. Not a single feature seems to be without problems, and the main core of smooth parkour where the animation and gameplay sync up in a satisfying way, seems still far off. I am really excited about the concept, and would love if the Storror team gets a big win with their game. But it really needs to ramp up the progressive improvements in my opinion.
It's a long way off for sure, but the potential is there, and I'm looking forward to playing each new build as it drops. I've never played a game this early in the dev stage, so I'm looking forward to seeing it grow. I just hope it keeps growing!
I think he means this game is just focused on Parkour, no combat, no stealth elements, no running away from helicopters and the army etc. More of a parkour sim, like skate or session is for skateboarding.
Nailed it @@tvlkn9130! I love the mirrors edge game series, the 1st on in particular. It's a fun dystopian sci fi thriller with some great parkour gameplay, but there's no tricking, or dive kongs, reverse vaults, proper pre's etc, which you'd need to be a pure parkour game. It is great though, reckon I should do a Mirrors Edge stream/vid? Whaddya think?
@@The_Old_Boy_Gamer There is no "tricking" in parkour. Parkour simply put is to get from point A to point B in the fastest way possible. This is why Sebastien split from David so that he could do tricking, that is why it became free running.
imagine, rooftop & alleys and storror parkour game, being mixed. this game have amazing animations and, the clothes bro, the move of the clothes is the key 👌👌
this looks like it took inspiration from the newest Unreal Engine 5 presentation where they showed their new animation system. It takes manual animation blending and replaces it with a much smarter system where u have to feed it animations and it does the blending for each frame automatic.
I haven't a clue mate but that sounds right to me! You should check out the game's dev streams if you're interested in the nuts and bolts of it, there's a link in the description!
RT&A is awesome! I'm having a great time with it! This one is also from a very small developer too and I'd recommend checking it out when its a bit further on, they're two very different parkour experiences, and mulitplayer on SPP could be great fun!
Zombies would be awesome! I did hear talk of game modes involving evading security but I don’t know if that’s true, we’ll have to wait and see I guess!
Fine suggestion sir! I am on the case! There’s a video in the oven and it’s almost cooked! In the meantime check out the Rooftops and Alleys livestream I did a few days ago! ru-vid.comJZ_kBFh1pEA?si=rbVlcZ3YjRwoRyyU
Uh oh you’ve opened the age old Parkour vs Freerunning terminology debate! 😂 I’ve heard both camps argue about this. Many saw it as a philosophical change back in the day, others saw it as a catchier rebrand to lose terms like “Traceur” etc. I’ve always been more of a A to B parkour traditionalist myself but rightly or wrongly, in modern usage they’re often used interchangeably even by top athletes. I mean this is called Storror Parkour Pro, and there’s tricking in it 😂 Regardless of the origins I think Parkour has just become a blanket term under which the trickier free runners and the A to B purists both exist. But still the debate rages on…😂
That's a great suggestion mate, thank you! I'd seen clips and didn't know what it was called until your comment. It's on my stream wishlist, stream and vid in the pipeline when it's released!
I somewhat agree, but I personally feel like Rooftops & Alleys gives off more Tony Hawk's Pro Skater vibes. I haven't formally looked at any gameplay, but the Steam trailer definitely makes it look more like arcade-style gameplay rather than simulator.
@@geoterra9478 RT&A is really great fun, but is a totally different beast to SPP, which is more technical realism than wacky Arcady fun. It’s great to have the 2 different approaches!
Just asked in the dev discord and they said they’re hoping for early release on steam around December time, with the full version coming in a couple of years.
You’re right! That definitely counts I never played it, but I did hear it was terrible 😂 Have you played it? Is it worth sticking on my “to play” list?
@Dizzula haha! That’s a shame, but I’m actually kind of glad 😂 I’ve been hammering the Parkour content recently and the last thing I need is another parkour game to review! 😂
@@The_Old_Boy_Gamer Maybe check it out at some point in your free time? It does have a variety of tricks, more like Tony Hawk than anything, it's just a bit... rough?
You’re right! I checked with the devs and they’re aiming for an early version release this December, with the finished version ready in a couple of years. To be fair to them, they are building a detailed animation system that has never been done before, so it may well be worth the wait! But we’ll see.
Mate I was thinking this the other day! They’ve put the GoPro follow cam view in it so it would make sense to be able to chop up a line replay with different angles filters etc. Parkour and filmaking go hand in hand!
I love RT&A it’s great fun, and it does look a bit further on, as SPP is basically a pre alpha tech development demo at the mo. They’re two very different Parkour experiences though, and SPP are building a revolutionary and realistic animation system which is gonna take a lot more time I guess. Hole in the Sleeve are a tiny developer too, so I’m really excited that in both cases it’s the small devs that are advancing Parkour systems in games which is well overdue! I can’t wait to see what both games look like when they’re finished!
I've been a fan of AC since the beginning, but I checked out halfway through Odyssey. Unity was peak Parkour in the series, but it's been going steadily down the toilet every since. The parkour in the new ones seems to be worse than AC1! Should I do an AC stream/vid do you think?
