$99 is in my price range! Subscription based...I am good with that. Some months I barely drive 3 days a week, but some months I drive a lot. I like FSD. Edit: Once I find out whether the price will stay $99, I am down to use it for days I am doing heavy driving.

Yes. I’m down for $99 a month. I spend $100 a month on random that aren’t worth it and this IS worth it for me. I got 4 months FSD free,1 free month + 3 months for using a referral code, when I bought my new MYP.

I’ve found in my trial so far I use it differently than i expected. Seems like I use it like you do, enable and disable throughout a ride. More like a super cruise control. The lowered price is more appealing, but I’m thinking it’s still a bit away. One of my biggest gripes isn’t the actual FSD, but the routing that Tesla (and even Apple Maps) uses. I try to avoid difficult left turns into busy roads that don’t have stop signs, when I know I can take the left at a light if I slightly modify my route.

I think you expect far too much , this is the hardest thing humans have ever tried to do. I’m not actually sure it picks an east route as my satnav picks odd routes all the time .

I think both. They need data. But also to get more people interested in FSD and now it’s $99 great price now. Tesla tweeted today us on 2024.8.9 branch, free trial coming soon this coming week. Can’t wait to try it out. These are great video!

I think you're right. I believe that Ego, as pilot flying, and I, as pilot monitoring, together are much safer and better drivers than either of us alone.

I received my FSD supervised last night 🎉🎉 I am going to try it after midnight 😂 as it's my first time and I want to be away from as many drivers as possible 😂

My FSD 12.3.x experience: as part of a funeral procession, unless constantly tapping the accelerator pedal. Lane selection... sometimes super-dumb. Other than that... safe. Well... often seems to lean toward the right side of the lane. Also, unlike FSD 11.x, it treats the yellow light as if it was a red light. I would say FSD 11.x is a teen who just got the driver's licence. FSD 12.3.x is a healthy and VERY prudent 90+ yr. old.

I just completed a run from Baton Rouge to Austin Tx, then to Hot Springs Arkansas and back home. Interesting program. It’s about 95% effective, but still occasionally does weird things necessitating taking over manually. When you stop the FSD, a pop up box asks you to state why. With a voice memo . Quite obvious Tesla is adding to its AI database likely to support the robo-taxi project. It’s still not quite ready for prime time and too expensive to buy outright . A seasonable month to month plan makes sense if driving a trip.

It's funny I agree with you 100 percent as I just got my Tesla last month. I find myself hyper aware when I use auto pilot on the freeway especially because I'm anticipating this mystical phantom braking everyone talks about. Luckily the car is awesome in autopilot but I am very aware and ready to take over at a moments notice

Nice drive with FSD! Still waiting for it to reach my 2023 Model 3 RWD. Will try to hold off a few days before I do the $99 for a month. Currently I do use autopilot for my 2x weekly drives from WI to Chicago. Even with that, I maintain a significant focus on what's going on all around me. As you say, the driver is responsible regardless.

I think there's a lot of data collection. Including data of FSD-FSD interactions on the roads. Then of course some advertisement and getting ppl hooked.

I think it’s because Ai learning machines are exponentially learning in the free month. 30 days of learning is probably better than 4 years of programming by engineers

Brilliant, its always the last 10% of edge cases that need to be solved to achieve level 4/5 which is data driven. 1B miles not enough, 6B probably not needed either.

I agree with you that Elon's primary reasonto in providing 1 month free FSD is for Data Collection and secondly to get Tesla owners hooked which Elon just dropped to $99.00 per month plus tax which I immediately purchased and will NOT ever be without.

It is just as free as if their motives had been pure. I hope people change their outdated views, like my friend with his Model 3 who tried early Autopilot, didn't like it, and never tried again.

I keep 1 hand on the wheel and can drive a very long ways before a nag. Like an hour or more. Sunglasses help too. I agree with you on the data collection angle. $99 a month will induce a lot of folks to get it. I bought when i bought the car so more data is great! Did a series of round a bouts today perfectly that V11 could not do. On the freeway the automatic speed offset turns off. You can then set your own max speed. No reason at all to be the slowest car on the road. Or just turn it off and set your own speed.

of course it's for collecting data, FSD is a neural network system. So as people correct the mistakes it adds it to the AI. so they gave it out for free so EVERYONE who's able to use FSD can add to the brillions gigabytes of data they already have. it'll evolve the system far faster than just relying on people who have it.
