There's stars in the team, particularly the backs. Williams, North, Bigger, Cuthbert, Adams for example. Lions players. Faletau, Wyn Jones. TBH they only looked dangerous when Scotland went down to 14 men. Thinking there's not much wrong with the players or coach but loads of issues regarding the game and regulations in Wales. It's reflected in the performances because the problems are so deep.

Where's navidi, tips, still quality players, other old timers like awj etc past it and needed replacing a year or ago...I'd select majority of ospreys team which lost narrowly to Leinster in wales few wks ago, they had an amazing dominant scrum and exciting backs .toughest game for Leinster this year.

Sacking the coach they specifically got in to target WC 2023 is absolutely idiotic. Ive got no time for Wales rugby or the WRU after that. We've gone backwards 10 years reappointing Gatland.

I watched the recent 3 part documentary ‘Slammed’ about Welsh Rugby in the 70’s. And when you look at the players they had, the way they played, you begin to realise how far down welsh rugby has fallen. Gatlands style of play is the antithesis of Welsh philosophy. It’s the perfect cure for insomnia. That Welsh team in the late 60’s and 70’s, alongside the England team under Clive Woodward was the greatest rugby union side of all time. Barry John, Phil Bennett, Gareth Edwards. You cannot better that

They have bad form while other teams seem to be finding there’s. Wales are a fantastic team, just a bit of a slump, I get there’s problems behind the scenes but I’m a scotland fan so I know there’s highs and lows 😅 think it’s being dramatised a bit much like

Wales in 1995? wooden spoon Five Nations and knocked out of World Cup in Pool stages? 1990 & 1991 when we lost all our players to rugby league and won no games? 2007 & 2003 six nations were crap.

Far worse teams in the 90s ! We see players who are not maybe world class now struggling in a team not functioning, in the 90s players were winning caps who should never have been NEAR international rugby , even then .. when it was amatuer and the standards of Scotland and Ireland was pretty poor then as well ,

I still they can beat England. Both Wales and England are in similar places. Massive long-term development needed - but Wales can beat England now in Cardiff. Watching Eng and their replacements, they aren’t overall superior to Wales. In terms of long-term development, Gatland may deliver more than Borthwick.

Rugby is a religion in Wales and the whole country needs to get behind the team against England. Against Scotland the Welsh tactics were to pull the Scots into scraps, which the Welsh are good at, however in the second half Scotland stepped up the gears and annihilated Wales with several players outstanding, especially Russell. Scotland found so much space for their runners that this must be a major concern for Gatland. Threatening to strike before a big 6 Nations match is naive, but should the match go ahead it could be very interesting. If the players don’t get a satisfactory deal and refuse to play, it might be the end of international rugby for a while in Wales. Nobody needs this.

No they are not but the team is faced by adversity off the field which always affects play on the field. First - The home fans no longer support the team. The Coach - WRU waffling and removing the coach trying to rebuild and prepare for the RWC. Pivac did not have that bad a record, if you consider points difference. Yes, they lost to Italy but Italy is a side in new resurgence and gave France a tough game. Outplayed england too. Pivac was blooding new players and developing more depth. Head injury debacle - No where else in the sports world is this matter so misrepresented by the local press. Now the contract dispute. Top english sides imploding. Too many negatives descending on the young layers. It is chaos.

Bit of a weird person to quote in this contex but Quentin Tarantino has said he has one more movie left and then he is done because he believes after that he would be passed his best. He believes everyone not just athletes have a point where they aren't as good as they were when they were younger. Coaches, CEOs etc. Let's hope I am wrong but I think Gatland is on the decline.

Gatland is life-expired, yet another journeyman cash gatherer just like Eddie Jones. Sack the 'Blazers' in Cardiff, and bring in some younger blood - and a new (Welsh) coach!

Reality is, Pivac put Gatland in a position where he has to make wholesale changes prior to a RWC. This dip is a necessity and has just come up against the best team in the championship and then a team in Scotland really firing on all cylinders. They’re playing with ambition and intensity, which is miles ahead of where they would’ve been under Pivac, and you gotta play the hand you’re dealt in terms of the resources you have at your disposal.
