@@forkast precisely how is a city that's proportionally overrepresented by a variety of groups which aren't the average racial makeup of the county not "multicultural"? Ricardo is correct. It's looking at a mix of people, pointing to the whiteys and saying "they're still here so it's not multicultural". It's no different than the people saying that Black Panther's 98% black cast is "diverse" simply because it doesn't contain many white people. Canada is a diverse country even with 73% of the population being Caucasian, and this is because the majority of countries on the planet have a racial breakdown which is far more homogeneous. Japan is 98.1% Japanese

There are different levels people fail to notice. "It did not happen to me, so I dont get it, hence it must be a false, or over exaggerated" is not true either. I will just tell one level, the very lowest. At very low intellectual levels, like warehouse worker who is white asks me "Where are you from" as if that question should not offend me, and if it does, then I will be called "virual signalling" Forget about what is worng with that question, but what is your business of asking me where I am from? I am not even asking you your intention, but what is the necessity? Can I ask you how much you get paid? And if you say that is incomparable, what interests you in my origin? Let me telll you why. I mean one of then If I say "I am from X " you will immediately follow with "My cousing married a person from X" this is nothing bit reverse signalling that "hey I am not racist, or atleast I am pretending not to be a racist" There are several nuances to racism which average people dont know. They just go "What?" or even "What the fuck?" The problem is because white people are white in colour. And they will never be able to feel what a coloured person feels. They can read a hundred books and a thousand cups of butter chicken. They still cannot. The only solution to this problem is White people should turn into "beige" as once Russel Peters mentioned in his comedy.

Don't really get the joke. I'm white and like living in Toronto largely because it is so multicultural. I guess it's okay for me though 'cause I don't have friends.

The joke is "Canada so white"... as if that precludes certain areas from having a higher propotion of non-white people than the national average If Canada is 73% white and Toronto is 49.8% not-white then obviously Toronto is still teeming with whiteys since they're not the minority The joke is built on an idiotic premise

@@allantidgwell5624 "The joke is built on an idiotic premise" I would agree with that, but it sounds me that they suggest Torontonians are faux liberals who smile politely while they look down their noses at the quaint lesser peoples who serve us exotic foods. The joke doesn't seem to understand the concept of whites being part of multiculturalism.

@@Blackmark52 well most are faux-liberals... because most Canadians don't actually know what Liberalism entails. (Which is why calling it the Liberal Party is so ironic it's disgusting) Also there are Torontonians (and Vancouverites, Haligonians, and...) who do just what you describe. Cosmopolitans tend to be fairly superficial (this is true all over the planet, including countries which aren't white). And these people also tend to believe that multicultural excludes white people... even though Europe is just as varied in its cultures as any other continent (so the joke writer is a "faux-liberal" mocking "faux-liberals")

@@allantidgwell5624 I was referring to liberal in the classic sense, not the party politics. "Also there are (...) who do just what you describe." That sound almost as if you buy into the premise of the joke. Institutional racism is a thing, whites do control the institutions in this country and that influences the idea of whites feeling superior, but painting that social advantage as evidence of racism on a personal level is a step removed from a street level view of any Canadian city. There is a lot of racism here, but let's not describe racists by the colour of their skin.
