This is by far, my longest animatic to date. Im sorry it took so long and that I havent released art in 4 weeks at all, but it was to work on this! I hope you all enjoy it. I know i usually post evangelion and danganronpa, but im really proud of this one. I enjoyed utena dearly and just really wanted to make something big for it, to show my appreciation.

the funniest part for me is that several of the characters involved here- juri, touga, kozue, and debatably wakaba- are canonically gay/bi themselves.

Oh absolutely, but most of them also have internalised homophobia so heavy that if you asked them what they think of gay people they'd get so nervous they'd throw up and pass it off as disgust, so 😭😭

Juri is like THE "lesbian friend" in an all queer friend group, and its because nanami is too closeted to realise shes a lesbian, so everybody turns to juri constantly to figure stuff like this out💔

THANKS I honestly regret not putting milage in that section too, but I kind of forgot I didnt put him in while making this😞 I wanted to put as much of the characters in because I think the cast of utena is so fun, and entertaining; they all deserved a spot! And as for tsuwabuki, I am happy you think so :] it's partially because I realized nobody fit this role more than him, considering he's the only character that anthy makes a direct jest at referencing that she and utena are gay ("we do plenty of adult stuff don't we, miss utena?"

I WAS WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO MENTION i love this online joke where people draw komaeda appearing in spaces he shouldnt be in at random, and we all laugh (undertale, homestuck, etc) so I thought "I dont have enough ideas for random character designs, i mean, what harm could it do to make a lil funny komaeda" ALSO absolutely, I always wanted to make one when I was younger, and thankfully over the years my art got good enough to be able to create stuff like this 😌 tysm!!

I recommend it!!! The anime is less light-hearted than the animatic I made but it is also a life changing show, and if you feel like you can get through the heavier moments, it's worth every second
