Is Vitamin B1 the Answer to Dementia?

Unlike most types of vitamin B1, Ultra B1 was designed by Dr. Osborne to contain benfotiamine:
www.glutenfree...
Dementia is a growing problem in industrialized countries, with limited treatment options. However, studies have shown that benfotiamine, a form of vitamin B1, may improve cognitive abilities in patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.
Two small-scale studies have demonstrated positive results, with improvements in cognitive rating assessments. Benfotiamine is believed to work by addressing thiamine deficiency, which can lead to neurological damage and cognitive decline.
Individuals with early onset dementia, particularly those on diuretics, may benefit from discussing benfotiamine supplementation with their doctor.

I have taken Benfothiamine and had zero results - no changes whatsoever. When I switched to Lypothyamine I pretty quickly (within a few days) found myself less lost and remembering where I put my missing items. I felt like I stayed on track and was a great deal more on top of things.

There are many manufacturers now so I would compare the number and power of the lights with the cost. I recommend sticking to these 2 frequencies as coherent light is more effective than full spectrum light. There are many studies at Pubmed about "Photobiomodulation". These 2 colors are FDA approved to reduce inflammation, increase blood flow, reduce pain and increase healing time by 150-200%, in the literature. it works on the level of the Mitochondria so it heals every tissue in the body, including nerves and the brain. It's a miracle for us, even reversed arthritis and trigger finger. Blue light is also very useful for killing topical infections including MRSA and Staph, better than any drug, in the medical literature. Let me know if you need more info. I have seizures, and high acetylcholine induces seizures, so I really have to be careful doing too much b1. Anything around 1g and I’m safe. But going over, like I unfortunately did, I went to 2g and I was feeling really nervous. Just an FYI for those like me. Probably others wouldn’t take that much, but high acetylcholine is unsafe for other reasons. I found a quote on the ray peat forum that illustrates this. “…simplified way of looking at this could be: too little ACH = you get under-cognition + brainfog, too much ACH = you get irritability + overthinking mind + depression/learned helplessness (e.g the state some people get by eating a lot of eggs high in choline) and maybe reduced learning performance too because of that. specifically targetting acetylcholine in the HIPPOCAMPUS is especially connected to depression / mood”

@pramuanchutham7355
@pramuanchutham7355 10 месяцев назад
Benfotiamine has 5-8X absorption that of Thiamine. You have to buy Benfotiamine separately as no b-complex or multi-vitamins use ths form. Pyridoxine HCL is cheap B6 that needs to convert to the active P-5-P form. Pyridoxine HCl is toxic to the peripheral nerves above 5-10mg daily, i.e. your legs and feet start hurting when you take your cheap b-complex and disappears when you stop taking it. Buy P-5-P separately for safety. You need 50mg or more P-5-P for neurotransmitter formation (Serotonin, Dopamine), Red-Blood cell formation (along with B9 folate and B12 methylcobalamine). Look for life-extension two-per-day or b-complex at least, with Benfotiamine separately.😊
