So I did a test between the different Digital FPV Systems, Compared Walksnail Goggles X vs. DJI Goggles V2 and Goggles 2. Tested against DJI O3 and Caddx Vista.

Thanks for the comparison! Really glad I waited that long and finally went with Walksnail. If Walksnail is able to deliver the vrx v2 to enhance rf performance and supports 4K onboard recording there's literally nothing else to ask for😊

But you could've had DJI O3 with 4k for the past year. Walk snail might catch up to the O3 but DJI O4 is getting released in 2 months and walksnail will again be left in the dust.

@ Do you even know how hard it must be for a small company like caddx to come close to a giant like DJI? Still they try and do everything for the FPV community and people like you talk sh*t all the time. I mean what is the problem ? Buy the O3 O4 O5 or whatever, no one tells you to fly walksnail. I like walksnail and I have DJI quads and I see nice things in both systems and I have no need to bash on any of those. I know there is also HD zero and I never tried it and probably never will and do I talk cr*p about it? No I do not because the system is not for me so if walksnail is not for you fly dji and live and let live no one is holding a gun to your head saying that you should fly walksnail😃😃

I enjoyed your comparison - What a great spot you guys have to fly, to me the Walksnail looked the best in your comparison, but these were all Goggle recordings and maybe if comparing onboard recording the 03 would come out best. For my HD gear I only have Walksnail as I fly Micros and Toothpicks and Walksnail gear better suits smaller stuff and I am getting great results from my Walksnail gear.

Nice real world review. I like the image on the walksnail better. Wonder if you put nice antenna on the walksnail. Will it perform on par with O3 in term on signal strength and penetration?

Yes I wonder that too. Longer antennas too on the Drone. The stock dji antennas and the ones I have now are also a huge difference

Thanks your share, I use walksnail as my goggles, because HDMI INPUT let me practice LIFTOFF before I build my own 5" FPV. And I always flight after work back home, moonlight camera help me a lot.

@@ixography press 3 sec and beep to analog, then press 3 sec to HDMI input as a small screen, plug in HDMI mini. And get screen on goggles.

I have to agree that walksnail looks incredible and way better than DJI. This video gave me a better visual of making the switch to WS. The VYX on WS is way cheaper than 03, which by itself is ideal for my wallet. Thank you for the video. Keep making great content. I'm looking forward to more videos from you now. @ixography now if we could only see walksnail come out with a vtx with the same form factor as Dji and HD ZERO to fit in every frame we have out now would be an amazing help. But I'm grabbing a pair of older walksnail goggles and enjoying a better system apposed to DJI.

Very nice comparison, I actually think the O3 looked the worst surprisingly… dirty lens and lower sunlight didn’t help, but even still didn’t look as good. Both DJI setups seemed to handle penetration better with less blurring, also as you mentioned tree branches/stick details were better. Either way, all systems look great, kind of splitting hairs here.

Yes exactly, and yeah sorry for the lens being but that mostly was visible in the highlights but the shadows were noisy anyway I didn't notice it was dirty until I checked the files on my pc at home and it was so cold and I was basically freezing the whole time so I kinda forgot to clean it. Yes the penetration on the DJI was better but also the patch antennas and the good stock antennas on goggles 2 made the difference but like you said all these digital systems are really good and you will be ok flying either one of them

@@ixography I fly mostly HDZero, completely different experience, but has its own unique benefits. I had a nice WalkSnail setup that I was really starting to like, but it “lives in the mountains” now.. “Fail Safe” turns Epic Journey to Find a Lost Drone! Is there any difference in range between Walksnail HD/Goggles X and DJI O3/Goggles 2? I read DJI Goggles2 with O3 is max 13km, some hard limit and i would like to have a little more if possible. Maybe you do not fly at these ranges but i try ask, maybe someone knows these things.

I heard over 20km for O3 but trust me not on stock antennas. After 3-4km you start losing bitrate. I will buy the truerc antennas for the goggles 2 as I don't trust it. I have that on the goggles x but it should be better theoretically but I am scared to fly long range with walksnail. Idk just not used to it I guess so I don't want to dive mountains with it immediately I have to test it more and more

Overall dji honestly had better bitrate(coming from a goggles x owner) maybe this is accountable for the patch and better antennas but in this is dji had a advantage in penetration

Od vydání DJI goggles 2 pokukuji po novinkách a teď i WS. Teď vybírat a skládat něco od začátku tak nejspíš volím WS, ještě s možností změny chystaného modulu na august. Ale zatím oproti DJI v2 se stejným setupem antén nevidím tak rapidní rozdíl za cenu nového systému abych přecházel na novější verzi a řešil i VTX na všech 3 dronech. Díky moc za srovnání, některým lidem může určitě pomoct při výběru nebo ušetřit náklady 👏👍

This was great, thank you! I've had my V2's for a couple years, now considering the Avatar X mainly for the availability of their VTXs suited to much smaller quads. The one thing I still notice in much Walksnail footage is the blur/mushy look over grass at low altitude. Not a deal breaker, but something that was present from the beginning.

Dik za porovnanie walksnail a dji. Chcem zacat s fpv a dost mi to pomohlo s vyberom systemu. Podla mna je Walksnail obrazovo omnoho lepsi, ta ich pro kamera je super ale signal/penetracia je zatial o dost horsia oproti o3. Mozno by bolo fajn spomenut aj vys. vykony, ak som to neprepocul. Pekne polietanie, radost mat take miesto.. 👍

Ja osobne zostavam pri DJI lebo vsetky drony mam s o3 a vistu ale budem skladat este jeden 7 inch kde bude walksnail lebo mam realne vsetky parts doma tak postavim for fun este jeden dron😃

The Google x from Walksnail can show OSD Canvas on the googles and dvr as well?

On the DVR via some app you have to use and it will burn the DVR into the video. I never bothered to use it as I don't really care about it

Interesting comparison. DJI penetration but I'm sure high gain antennae on the Goggles X would make a difference.

superb comparison....thx! i prefer the O3 due to the 4k60...you do not need another action cam on the copter...but i agree: in darker areas it not performing...even older caddx vista looks brighter...and sharper! i do not flyy bando, therefore O3 is the right solution. But: i changed to ELRS instead of SBUS via O3...seems to be more stable...and: if video failes, RX will fail too...not a good idea what DJI had

When you flew with the Walksnail there was much more light from the sun than with O3. So it is clear that there was more noise with O3. In my opinion, the comparison should be made under the same lighting conditions

for me, 03 camera sucks compare to WS. 03 easily lost details even in few low light area. WS in few low light, it still can boost the image makes it looks impressive without noise. WS only got video noise when in nearly dark area but still flyable compare to dji. i test it my self. dji 03 not worth the money, shadow detail also worst on dji. only nice when fly on really bright area. not worth to buy.

The DJI looks like a cinematic filming device while the Walksnail more like a documentation device. I personally prefer the latter. Was this the HDpro camera of the Walksnail-system?

Well ur DJI had patch antennas 10db gain. But also dji is still a lil better with pentration. Thay said I am still planning ln slowly switching to walksnail. Mad I couldn't get moonlight for new drones. All out of stock. Reason grabbed an O3 for a drone. Ugh. 😆

I am going to Belgium next week until January so I probably will not be able to fly for 2 weeks but after that new tests are coming for sure . Remember that walksnail was on stock antennas. DJI was on iflight crystal and got upgraded antennas. Also WS is 1200mw and O3 is on 2watt . So maybe I will do a test with better antennas both on drone and goggles in a while.

@@Q1320 man you are talking shit😃 first off out of the box the walksnail, dji and O3 have 25mw. When you unlock them the vista goes to 1200mw and O3 to 2000mw . Ofcourse the O3 went through the back cause it was 2000mw and bettet antennas. I am done talking cause it looks like you just want to argue and you make no sense at all

In term of dynamic range, yes, WS is better. Test the penetration and range further next! Adds another dimension to the comparison

You didn't go back to WS in the end? Apparently you compared a much earlier recording with the O3. The sun has already set, but it still shines brightly in the shot! This is not correct.

I had a failsafe because of my esc dying, the drone fell from the sky and it is dead now. the unit survived but the drone did not so I need a new esc in the walksnail drone. There are tons of videos out now so just go there :D

if you donut mind sharp image and don't use for professional use Walksnail is perfect, especially for micros. but if you want to use the footage to match other modern cinema cameras, I would stick with DJI

you saying that the tiny O3 sensor matches cinema cameras? The O3 isnt even close to the GoPro. Walksnail and O3 are both great for amateurs flying for fun and they want to post it on social media, other than that it is just not enough. Both O3 and Walksnail are just for fun. Anyway I care about nicer image in the goggles as the video from both systems is just not good enough for me so therefore walksnail wins as the video looks much better when I fly compared to the O3

Trust me I did and it is not really good to fly them. It is too dangerous as the exposure stays the same and sometimes you can not see really well in the shadows or when you arw mountain surfing you need the fast changing exposure

Geez, this didn't help me 😅 Besides FPVs, I'm also having DJI Mini 4 Pro and I need justification to go to DJI goggles. The Walksnail looks good, and the sharpness may be "uglier", but I believe for flying its much better that the blended picture from DJI.

well I had the sharpness pretty high up so maybe that is also the issue, best is to find someone in your area and test both of them out and decide that way.

cause the distance works only when there is a gps installed what dont you understand? the other distance from the packet rates is not recorded in this osd .srt file

Fatsnail has so much pixel smearing and is way over sharpened. Vista looks similar but the O3 puts them both to shame. Now we just need a O3 camera that handles night better.

that is what I said, I wanted to prove that the walksnail is performing really well even on stock antennas. Maybe later I can do one more test with the original dji antennas but I do not have those anymore so yeah I would have to borrow those from someone as they are totally shit
