@@InsideAgameR - so do I. I never purchased MSFS as I was sceptical about all the hype leading up to the release. I now realised that I made the right decision by sticking with X-Plane 11.

@@showmoke yeah i think in a few years mfs will be decent once we get some third part planes as well but flight model on xplane is sooo good

I agree,I’ve always loved X-plane’s physics. But ever since I tried MSFS,I realized how much I value lighting,scenery,and weather. So now I am MSFS only and feel the same amount of realism if not more but not from physics, but form everything else I just mentioned.

I have both and I have almost 100hr on a cessna now. X plane feels more realistic when it comes to flight model. Mfs is a bad training tool. You can push the aircraft way too far without having any stall affects. Many times I pulled through flips that would definitely take the plane down in real life . In IMC the plane will not fly correct and level don't let mfs fool you.

Yeah I agree I like swapping between them but I love all my aircraft on xplane! We also have a virtual company if you ever fancy flying with us

I think they have real opertunity with the steam winter sale as alot people are little fed up and know mfs will take time and there a need audience to flight sims and alot stuff for it is freeware

@@WarrenPostma - which is why I've held back getting MSFS. Also, to me the scenery in MSFS, although very good indeed, to me looks a bit like scenery from a computer game. I don't know whether it's the colouring or what, but for me OrbX's True Earth range of add-on scenery for XP11 looks very realistic indeed overall and if you look at the scenery from a real world flight video and compare it with XP11 with OrbX's TE scenery, they look very similar with the right amount of haze/visibility and the correct colouring etc as in the real world.

@Jack Macdonald - exactly, and until that happens, I'm holding off buying MSFS. I'm actually looking forward to getting XP12 when it's released this year hopefully, but wondering if 3rd parties will support it in the years to come in the form of add-on sceneries, particularly OrbX.

Microsoft flight sim 2020 has amazing graphics but xplane is more realistic in controls so if you want to be serious xplane is better but if you just want it to have a flight sim just get Microsoft flight sim

XPLane 11, Logitech yoke and throttle quandrant and pedals. XPlane 11 supports "metal" (the next gen 3d api for mac os) and Vulkan (the equivalent to metal, on windows and linux). Since MIcrosoft Flight Simulator 2020 is not available on Mac, It's X-Plane, or X-Plane, or if you like, X-Plane. Or if that's not enough choice, how about X-Plane? :-)

Hello mate I have a discord full usefull freeware and payware links for xplane good thing is cab run on quite low end what kind of specs for you have?

That depends if you intend push visuals way up abd use add on scenery and complex aircraft but for stock experience I would say a 2600k and up for decent settings on vulkan and something like 1060, for 1080p for vr at least a 1070

Yeah of course there alot payware add ons that can make it alot better but also alot free stuff now too as well make it look a lot better it will hopefully drop in Halloween steam say last year was 30 euros

XPlane has enough free add-ons that you need never pay any attention to the paid ones. The base product plus the amazing free add-ons means you should just ignore the paid add-ons if you don't want to spend more.

@@InsideAgameR , if you ever want to take a trip back in time, I feature all of them on my channel. I play FS2020 also, but holy heck it really annoys me. So many amazing things yet the very building blocks of what makes a sim are missing. GA flying is good for the most part. I'm having the darnedest time trying to fly an airline with the awful AP. I'm currently on the trial period for Pilot2ATC, which really helps improve the overall MSFS2020 experience. However last night when trying to stream, my computer locked up and froze after an hour into the flight. Rebooted, tried again, and it started okay... but then went down to 1 fps and eventually froze again. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with MSFS and the Beta FSUIPC7, because it wasn't that bad before. It's just heartbreaking. When it runs and works, MSFS is an amazing experience. But I feel like I've got to fight tooth and nail just to get a good experience, and it really shouldn't be like that. FS9 was a homerun right from the start, and it does things right that MSFS can't seem to figure out. By the way, the old X-planes are an absolute joy to fly and quite amazing for the times they came out.

True, the replay in XP11 is insanely good. It is not the last 60 seconds, it is the whole 5 hour flight, including gear, flap positions, spoilers and everything. P3D is far away from that, MSFS too.

Only thing I would say if you spend 60 dollars and buy from there site you get xplane 11 for free so really be like a 30 dollar upgrade once more gets done

I'm not giving up on x-plane, but I recently got a Reverb G2 and I'm getting addicted to flying in VR in MSFS.

@@mokumkat I find xplane load 1000x faster then mfs even with all my add ons vr great in xplane too

@@InsideAgameR Well I have to admit x-plane is installed on a hdd and msfs2020 on a ssd. I deleted some regions in x-plane that I hardly use like Asia (sorry mt. Everest) and it improved loading time a bit. I have to figure out the settings for x-plane and how to use the controllers in vr.

Yeah. It is kind of sad reading these comments. People really trying to make X Plane better than it is by sheer will. X Plane rocked and got us to MSFS 2020. But now? It is time to move on. X Plane still has a nice flight model and well, if you are on Mac… here you go. Worth a buy if you sim… but… it is no longer the sim to beat.

Sounds like your PC is struggling with resources. What hardware do you have? Make sure various drivers are updated and in graphics settings in X-Plane, select Vulkan drivers. If on Steam, you could also Verify File Cache. GIYF.

@@NielsC68 Thanks for the reply! Had xp 11.01 and did an update, and that fixed that problem other problems are it takes almost an hour to load a flight! And i cant get the avionics panel to work in beechcraft baron b58! Low frame rates of 20fps to 10fps! I have the graphics turned low to get 20+fps

Also, i am on windows 7, so i cant use vulkan driver. I will send you my computers specs. I thought it was a good one dule processors, and a gforce video card

It's true, but also at 1000 ft, if I use X-Europe, they cities look pretty good with all the buildings. It is not photorealistic but it looks good anyway.

I fully agree haven't even downloaded last two update for mfs tbh it's my range of aircraft as well on xplane that I love

Tbh mine looks great from very minimal add ons espalesaly ortho stuff which is photogrammetry just like mfs ..

I have a 2070 and an i7, msfs played smooth as butter, frames ranged in the 30's. No probs.
