I rode and toured on a Brooks B72 for years, then found I was fine with a narrower saddle like a Selle Anatomica “H” leather- super comfortable! On my upright folder, I have a B66 from Brooks.
@@SmallWheelWonder It’s holding up fine so far. I keep it dry and put Sno Seal on it every now and again. I had a B72 where the frame snapped from normal use, so go figure!
If you do get "too wide" a saddle you will have issues with thigh chaffing if you sit more forward and less upright. I have a B67 and had this issue on my Brompton until I switched to a B17.
Brooks offer the C67, which is wider than the C19 and also appears to be bigger than the B190 or B72. I bought the C19 because I dislike the maintenance of leather.
@@b.griffin317 I saw a bad review of the C67 on RU-vid. I'm fairly happy with the C19, it's definitely on the wider side. I run my Brompton tyres at 60psi so the ride is less harsh.
09:00 We can clearly see how your sit bones have sunk into the Brooks and the middle part is pushing where it shouldn't. I have the same bad experience with Brooks B17 and I do not recommend that saddle. Maybe the version with a cutout would be better.
It is funny, but the cheap $45 saddle does have the width and a groove in the center to boot :-)) This is pay less, get more, although the quality and refinement of the Brooks is light years above the cheap saddle.
In life always good advice to protect you ass be it cycling or life in general , hopefully I’m not taking the piss , which is an expression here that I’m joking , humour is subjective especially the British sense of humour an enquired taste one thinks,
