Beauty is literally a pain in the ass. To have a good high cheek bones, I have to remove buccul fat, get my teeth fixed with braces, Get microneedling procedure to get evenness in skin, have retinol as skin care increase the pain ,as you are literally peeling once in week. You gotta wash your face to get glowing skin, brush your teeth to get pearls like whitness. The more modernised we get, the more trends are killing our life. Ancient people didn't had so much imperfection to look after.
Yeah, it just reminds me of when people get their teeth replaced. the full perfect row of teeth look completely unnatural. You gotta have a little bit of room for natural flaws otherwise it looks artificial
@Куроро Люцифер naah that sub r is screwed, they even tell to ugly af peep that they are beautiful for sake of not hurting anyone, so it doesnt match its main purpose at first place.
Hello I'm a certified dentist and i wanted to clarify that the perfect smile has buccal corridors unlike what you said , ideally it should be equal to the width of the facial surface of the first premolars And black pigmentation on the gums is a racial variation and is normal not an issue that needs fixing , but good video thank you 👍 ♥️
@@FathimaMuhsina may be but black people don't have black gums , and all black pigmentation in gums should be normalised as long as it is natural, that's what I am trying to say ❤️
As a dentist from Europe we tend to call teeth alignment with minimal buccal corridors quintessentially "American". It's not something we strive for in our treatment plans and I wouldn't say it's an important part of an aesthetic smile from a clinical point of view.
But the smile does appear more attractive without those dark triangles. I can almost always identify when someone’s had their first bicuspids extracted. Edited to add: But, too much of a good thing is also not attractive.
@@fareskhalifa8355 It's never "late" to mew... Mewing is correct tongue posture and should be done at any age. It's true that after age 25 it usually takes lot longer to get noticeable changes though.
I do! But not really apparent now. For years I had been chewing on only one side of my mouth, because of a broken molar on the other. Thanks to that my smile and my face are asymmetrical. I've been trying to reverse it for the last two years and see some improvements
The Greek and Roman body beauty standards for men are essentially like how they are now and I'm happy that's the case. I just wish more men were proactive in working towards those standards, though.
@@soybeanandmilk_9003 @nimo Somali beauty standard is pretty much the same as the universal beauty standard, for example, aquiline nose, tall, slim, long hair, high cheekbones etc. There's a comparison between Somali and universal standards such as; 1. Dark lips and gum 2. Brown spotted on upper teeth 3. Brown skin with red undertone, however due to recent influences, light skin is now the beauty standard among the Somalis, and skin lightening is very popular 4. Neck lines or folds 5. Monobrows 6. A woman with a hairy forearm. 7. Gap tooth 8. Long neck Lastly, being overweight or curvy is a new trend in Somalia. There's many more, but that's all I can think of atm 😁
If the eyes are not crisping when you smile, it won’t be genuine and attractive. For example, Emma Watson has a beautiful smile. Her teeth are perfect, but even when she doesn’t show her lips, her eyes are genuinely smiling. That’s what makes a face attractive. I’m sure there’s an evolutionary theory behind that, such as recognizing the people who can trust.
Not always... I'm East Asian with small eyes and as a young teenager I realised that I literally had like, no eyes, when I smiled. My 'social' smile is trained to move the muscles around my face as little as possible and I think it looks better for it.
I think Normani, Irene from red velvet and Janet Jackson has the nicest smiles I've ever seen. So pleasant and soft. I also love eye smiles like Tiffany from snsd.
This series is so good. I love how you can mix great, scientific content, with the attractiveness of social media content. It's not boring, it's not hard to understand, it's very interesting... you're doing a great, great job!! I'm watching them all!
I find it weird that most Americans have teeth that are too perfect. Kinda makes everyone's smile look the same. In my country, as long as the teeth don't look horribly misaligned, people usually don't get cosmetic treatments. I think that kind of gives everyone a unique look.
All of this is spot one. Once I got all of my orthodontics done , people did a 180 and treated me way better 🤦🏼♀️ And when I became a dental Specialist, I then understood the science as to why I was perceived totally differently compared to what I used to look like. 🤷🏼♀️
Thanks for your testimonial, it confirms I made a good decision to get braces despite being 35 years lol. Got tired of never smiling because of my diastema since birth. Wish I had said yes to my parents when asked about wearing braces when I was 12-13 years-old.... Was too stupid to realise the importance of it.
I just really love your channel The videos are really interesting and you giver references to studies and not just something from your end and that is also nice to see!
I've been watching the channel for some time now. I'm pretty sure, it helps me understand more about aesthetics which is an integral part of orthodontics.
This video makes me grateful for what I was born with 🥰 My overall appearance may not be classified as beautiful or model standard, though I'm happy that I have a decent smile 😄
I used to be heavily bullied for me teeth as child. (Although bullying is not justifiable, I understand why) I’m very blessed to live in a country where we have affordable healthcare. I had braces from age 11 to 15. And I do have to say my orthodontist did one heck of job. I always got complimented on it, man even my dentist said that she’s jealous. It’s the only thing that I’m genuinely not insecure about.
This is the first time I watched this channel and felt good about myself lol. Aside from my darker gums (I have it naturally due to my dark skin), I have the "perfect smile."
I find imperfections in teeth to be rather attractive: overbite; tooth gap;, chipped tooth; or when that one front tooth ever so slightly sits atop the bottom edge of the one beside it. Eddy Van Halen (narrow upper teeth) Gene Tierney (overbite) Lauren Hutton (tooth gap) Tom Hardy (teeth crowding). It adds character to their face and smile.
@@fellipedasilva99 I feel as though slight teeth crowding some people do find cute. Just look at Zoe Krävitz’s lower teeth, even with the crowding she still might be the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen.
I love your soothing, deep voice and serious expression. I learned so many important things about facial aesthetics to look better by the community when watched each one of your videos. Nowadays there are so many beauty perceptions and thoughts in the media that confusing your mind. You helped me to figure out how much it should be artificial or natural to look the most attractive. My perception on attractiveness has changed a lot after your videos.
@@christiantava442 Of course, we don't have perfect features. We have imperfection details. We should detect and improve or fix them to look better. But any feature shouldn't look too artificial, unrealistic. It lowers the attractiveness. Because too much feauture exotices the face. It doesn't have to look flawless. It should be well-matched and look harmonious for the face.
The nose makes a big difference to the attractiveness of the smile. My nose is otherwise sharp, but it flares a bit too much when I'm smiling, which doesn't make me look good. I'm now wearing braces to correct the slight misalignment of my teeth, but I'll probably have to find a solution for the flaring issue for things to make a big difference :(
I have the same problem and I wanna get plastic surgery or something to fix that issue but idk if it could be fixed surgically or with filler, but I definitely feel you
@@song5341 i heard there's a filler that can reduce the nose flaring. not actually a filler that can make your nose look smaller, but it helps not to flare out your nose whenever you're crying or smiling. i heard one of this tips from a Filipino female celebrity, and she has it to help her look good even when crying on camera
Great video!! In my experience, analyzing the smile prior to any intervention is the key to make the smile makeover the most attractive. Doing patchwork makes the ideal smile less attainable because the Periodontist-esthetic dentist has to correct the previous work in order to achieve the ideal smile. I always recommend that patients undergo a full smile analysis by a trained gum specialist who can modify the soft tissue as well as the teeth. This guarantees that all components of the perfect smile are corrected Great Great video!!
The smile of the black girl at the end was in fact really perfect when it comes to teeth alignment and all, but overall it looked dead and off, mostly because there was zero expression in her eyes.
When i smiled, one of my friends told me it reminded him of a duck. Since then, my friends from middle school always call me a duck to annoy me. I have been conscious of ducks ever since.
Hey, can you please make a video analyzing Madsion Beer's face? She is known as one of the prettiest and it'll be great to know exactly why. I'm sure many want analyzation of her face! thanks! xoxo
I request you to analyse "Hrithik Roshan's" face, he's the one with the "ideal jaw" in your "jaw analysis video", and also, please assess why he is considered 'the most handsome man in the world' by some US agencies and European magazine surveys
I always thought whitney Houston’s smile was the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. If you ever make another smile video, I’d love for your to breakdown her smile or her beauty in general.
I'm not trying to brag but honestly, looking at these pictures of teeth made me feel so much better about my smile and the way my teeth are shaped. I always felt like something was wrong with my teeth or smile because people always made fun of how weird my teeth were. Now I realize that it was all just jealousy because I remember my dentist saying that I had really really nicely shaped teeth and if I had braces and got them adjusted a lil then my teeth would look perfect or model worthy. I'm now 18 and don't have braces anymore and I always get compliments on how amazing my smile is or how greatly shaped my teeth are. I'm so glad I got braces because they really helped. If there are any teens out there who are self conscious about their teeth or just hate the way they look, then PLEASE TALK TO YOUR PARENTS ABOUT BRACES because getting braces literally changed my life and made cleaning them and eating/chewing food much easier for me. Trust me they are completely worth it
From a Slavic perspective all social smiles look creepy and fake. Smiling for greeting or pictures came from America, it's not naturally rooted in my response system. That lady with the perfect smile will haunt me in my dreams 👀
I can't wait to ger rich or close to it to fix my smile. My social anxiety will never be manageable without this. It's a giant wall there to hide ugliness
Probably this is the only video that I watched so sadly like "whatever, I will never have it anyways". 😃 I have three sorts of jaw deformation at the same time, though very slightly that somebody would not point out that deformation but it ruins my facial aesthetic overall 💁🏽♀️ yay 💁🏽♀️
In th UK people with super perfect teeth are seen as artificial and duplicitous like a car salesman or a politician. We prefer more natural looking, but still healthy teeth. So this is pretty cultural. I know japan has something about wonky teeth looking cute
Here In America too. At least I know when their teeth look super white and straighter than straight they’re most likely a politician. I have braces on now to correct my little gaps I love to smile either way 😀
Well according to me Beauty is either like Gold or like Diamond, sometimes its visible sonetimes it needs some picking...all of us are beautiful either way😍😍
Video ideas: attractive side profile and best combination of features, for example I have a very masculine eye area and mid face but a feminine lower third and cheekbones, I feel like this is rare but idk
I've taken to learning how to smile through the eyes more than lips because wearing the effing covid mask all the time makes it very hard to communicate your emotions with your face. Yesterday my favorite elderly neighbor told me he could tell I was smiling at him from my eyes only, and it made me happy. I miss seeing people's smiles - "ideal" or otherwise.
What about smiling without teeth. If the joke is not extra funny, my smile is toothless. I'm not a cultural anomaly either, the toothless smile is quite common where I live (the east). Maybe this is another case of west vs east. Flamboyant vs modest. Boasting teeth vs showcasing them only when necessary.
Very true. Showing a lot of teeth especially during eating and in front of elders is considered bad mannerisms. Certain places in the East( like Japan) consider crooked smiles as more cute or charming or super-nummerrary tooth(parts of SE asia) as good luck
You havent mentioned anything about crooked smiles. I have one and its really impacting my smiling confidence because my smile is shown mostly on one side of my mouth
They need to teach guys this stuff, every woman I talk to about this says she practicied smiling in the mirror here i am just realizing i can make diffeerent smiles and practice better ones in the mirror..
Additionally, the incisal edge of your upper teeth should some what closely follow the upper border of your lower lip. Otherwise, excellent video making great points!
For me from the ages of 7 to 12 I never knew how to smile in pictures I just went: 😬 but one day I learned to tuck my upper lip slightly and show my teeth. And suddenly my smile went from a 3 to a 8. 😃 I was just not born to smile with a closed mouth lol
crooked smiles are actually attractive to so many ppl and vry poetic, idk if u read novels (especially romance) but they're always mentioned and described to be charming
I feel like there are outliers to this. Personally my teeth are near perfect, the only issue is a gap in the front two. But when ever I mention braces I'm told not to because it's cute and adds to my personality. It's still uniform with my other teeth, just gapped. I think there can be perfectly imperfect outliers that end up working in a person's favor.
can you do a video on height perception and body proportions I find it fascinating how some people look taller than they are and how some people look shorter I know having long legs or short torso changes some perceptions but I'm sure there is more to it for example I was shocked to find out megan fox is only 1.63 I could have swear she was at least 1.75 or something and her legs aren't even long so what's the explanation
my teeth grew well except for the two upper front teeth, which used to angle in. like you said, fixing it really made a difference. now the only problem is that my lips are a little asymmetrical (not because of teeth)
i’ve been told that i have a great smile, my lips aren’t that full but my top lip disappears when i smile and now that’s becoming an insecurity of mine.
Same, my top lip is already very thin and when I crack a (toothy) smile, it just vanishes into thin air. Makes me feel ugly asf lol when I see these beautiful pouty smiles
This is the most random story, but I used to go to this waffle place and had a huge crush on the girl who worked there. When she smiled, her top lip desapered leaving just a trace of her cupids bow. I thought it was the cutest thing ever and that her smile was the most beautiful I've had ever seen. On the other hand, I though the smile of the lady shown to be ideal looked fake and unappealing and that the shape looked like a banana instead of a triangle.
I have full lips but also a gummy laugh. I know it's normal that your gum appears when you laugh genuinely but it also made me very self conscious lately.
I don’t know why I’m watching this when I’m just going to leave...🗣 DEPRESSED AS HELLLLL‼️ I have to remind myself to be grateful for other things but I’d be lying if I said I’m not STILL a little bitter that my parents got my brother’s teeth fixed and didn’t get mine fixed as well lol. He already got the good lips but then he got the perfect teeth too. I got screwed on both and I STRONGLY DISLIKE IT HERE 🥶😭😭😭😭😭😭 ...ALRIGHT! I hATE my tiny, weird-opening mouth, and my tiny lips, and my crooked teeth 😭😭😭😭😭😭
