Hi I know I’m late but I’m a returning player wanted to try out the new dlc and new game plus. Your videos have help me a lot thanks so much. Any tips before I tackle the dlc and new game plus. I have the legendary gear of the base game maxed out.
One of the best RU-vidrs period, irrespective of topic. His ability to clearly communicate complicated topics is fantastic, and he’s absolutely masterful about anticipating viewer questions and providing links to related videos. He clearly puts a shitload of thought into what he publishes and why, and it shows.
"This is the best stealth armor, however, this other armor is better, but actually, we're going to use this third armor choice" "This is the best stealth bow, however, this other bow is better, but actually, we're going to use this other bow instead"😵💫 Still a good video, and you definitely know your stuff, it was just a bit information overload in my opinion, especially without timestamps to cleanly move between armor and bow types. Still, thank you for making this 👍
That is so true, I watched the video now five times and still think I will not be able to recreate this build. For beginners that video isn't helpful imo
His coil charts are a big help. I still use them to this day. Great idea about using low health to max stealth. I never thought of that. In Assassin's Creed Odyssey, there is an outfit that has a a high stealth mechanic, but it cost you something like 80% of your health. I used it all the time.
@@paristeta5483 The recommendations were great! So smart to use blast sling bombs to gather enemies in one place!. I’ve never thought of that. And I agreet that using a hunter bow rather than a warrior bow fits better for a stealth player. I didn’t touch the warrior bows on my first play through at all. Same with spike throwers for me, I never felt safe using those in my first play through. I don’t know if I have any better tips than Arktix, I just used to get a sharpshot bow hit in, then a freeze bomb and an explosive bomb and then back to stealth with a smoke bomb, and repeat. Now I have more experience and am branching out a bit, but stealth was a great way for me to enjoy the story and also manage combat.
Honestly, I REALLY wish the Tears of the Land God bow had a Close Range perk vs Long Range, as the range you need to be at is actually not that far from what Hunter Bow's max arrow range is to begin with. I really don't like using Hunter Bows from far away anyway, that's more of a Sharpshot Bow thing imo. The new DLC Hunter Bow is freaking PERFECT for my playstyle tho! It fixes exactly what's busted w the TOTLG bow & even has a Steath bonus which is perfect for my play style. I still need to get used to striking a foe first tho to take advantage of that potent Melee Followup bonus, that one I always had a hard time getting used to in my first run of the game.
One mechanic you are missing from stealth technique is the running/sliding critical strike. If your stealth is high enough, you can sprint up to a lot of machines and “slide into home” critical strike. The sliding accelerates closing that final gap, frequently allowing you the stealth bonus even when you have been spotted. Sliding is also great when using shredders equipped with agility coils as it functions to charge the shredder & gives you the “falling” bonus at the same time.
Got a PS5 for Christmas been playing Zero Dawn on PC, Trip wires were pretty much my secondary weapon, it feels a bit overwhelming the amount of options i have here compared to zero dawn, one thing for sure is having an extra inventory is a blessing
Question: why no berserk arrows? I haven't tried them much at all so I can't say much about how good they are, but I'd think they'd work wonders in a stealth build. Forget using a blastsling as rocks, just turn a machine against it's friends and get a free kill or two. Only reason I can see why it wouldn't work is if stealth perks don't work on alerted enemies, even if they aren't alerted to you. But I don't know if that's the case since, again, I've only used berserk arrows twice.
To be really effective, you need to be Sub UH for the Free Hit vs Unaware enemies and this free hit needs to be Strong Enough to trigger the Berserker State. There are three Weapons with Berserker on them with Build up at the max level of 88/110/171, of course this can be increased with Coils+ Overdraw Potions. The Berserker Build Up Limit to targets are for Light = 25 / 38 / 63 / 150 for Medium 150 / 250 / 350 and Heavies 437 / 735 / 945. These increase with difficulty, x1,82 with Very Hard and x2,5 with Ultra Hard. The Maximum Number of Build Up with Endgame Gear and Coils is likely 519 or alternative, a 25% instant trigger chance (From Stealth, for 1 Projectile). On normal, that covers a lot, but on Very Hard, it´s only till the midrange medium machines.. There are other problems too, like Elemental Attacks of Machine Build Up their own state and then removing Berserk Early. If you wann try out a little for yourself, go the Shellsnapper and Spikesnout Site (North of the Ravager site) and use Berserk on the Spikesnout there from stealth an observe.
You DO make the best HFW videos on RU-vid but I could really use some chapters in videos like this. I'm getting pretty confused on when and what to use at times. Maybe I'm just an idiot though. Idk. Keep them coming!
Thank you! And sorry about the lack of chapters. I do usually put chapters on my videos and this one had them originally, but I had a terrible issue with RU-vid where it deleted the descriptions for about 30 of my videos and I have been trying to go back through to add chapters and other info back to them all. I just haven't had a chance to do this one yet. I hope you still found it useful.
It is good to have u back arktix. Good build video. Though i will still recommend that you make a machine master build video. THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO NEED SOME NACHINE MASTER TIPS ANND TRICKS INCLUDING ME. KEEP IT UP ❤❤❤❤❤😊
Thanks! 😁 Haha I hear you! Honestly, machine master is a tough playstyle to utilize, but there are definitely some good tips for it. The video is on my list! 👍
Can u pin it in this comment section. Also I was wondering if u could make an updated version of the machine master because Burning Shores I guess got some new mechanics in the playstyle
Many thanks for recommending the hybrid stealth-low health playstyle. It makes it actually feasible to play as a sniper even against big machines like Slaughterspines. Keeping at the required health level without low health regen 4 can be a little tricky, especially since health lost doesn't carry over to the next game session, but killing enemies is now fast enough on Hard or lower that you don't feel you have to come out of stealth because everything takes so long any more. So I just step on a few traps and I'm set for the rest of the session. Mostly.
Here I am, 800+ hours in, and doing a fresh play through. Going with my first stealth / low health build, so very much enjoying the collection of videos you have on your channel. Here is to 100K+ 🍾
As a begginer I am completely lost by this video. Was worried about spoilers the whole time despite going into this video thinking it would be broken down by Early/Mid/Late game as well.
Nice vid and informative as usual. When playing now in NG+ my default armour is the Winterweave and very rarely change it. My loadout mainly consists of Delta for dealing with clearing out Rebel held outposts and camps or for removing certain weapons and components of various machines. If im farming for upgrades i tend to use Tears of the Landgods Purgewater arrows to prime the target for the Shock arrows of my Deathseeker bow. Then proceed to start ripping parts off whilst they are stunned. I very rarely use Frost ammo to induce the Brittle state as i find it safer to stun the machine in place then go to town on it. But as i have all the weapons upto legendary upgraded fully i dont really need to farm so much for upgrades, so going into using Frost ammo more might be a fun option for me to try. I might try some of the builds you mentioned ( without the low health mechanics, sorry they are not my bag) just to switch it up. I haven't got a PS5 yet so cant get access to some of the items you have covered here, but the other builds might be fun to try. Thanks for the vid, and keep up the great work you do.👍
I love your videos man. You're my fave RU-vidr. A quick question... What's the best strategy to use against Erik, the second to last boss (the Zenith) on Ultra Hard?
Hey thanks! That's very kind of you 😁 I appreciate your support 🙏🏼 For Erik, before the fight starts, try to run up quickly and put some acid traps down where he lands. After that, it's all about try to deal big damage as quick as you can. Sharpshot focused shots, blastsling bombs, etc. Hope that helps!
To add to Arktix comment, Erik only has 1 Armor Peace, his Helmet, so all Acid damage goes directly there, and on UH , the Helmet is removed on the First Damage Tick of the 2nd time you apply corroded, meaning free Headshot bonus time. Erik is also Prone to get stuck in AI Loop running to the middle, if you interrupt that with power strike all the time...it´s now you having some fun.
Good video but starting with end game legendary equipment was certainly a choice. Would make more sense to do it in the order of a starter build, intermediate build, and end game build. I had to skip around towards the end to find anything relevant to where I am in my first play through.
Thanks! It took me a while to get it. It's a frame from one of the Silent Strike animations. I had to record while doing a bunch of Silent Strikes, then extract the frame from the recording. I have the original photo. I can send it to you on Discord if you'd like to join my server (link in all my video descriptions).
If I was a mid-game player I would start with getting a rare bow and warrior bow, bow for long and short range damage then for the warrior bow use for quick damage, now when I get coils I would play the game first then as for a second PT to know where good coils are, so basically I would get high damage coils for the bow and just upgrade them both because the coils are hard to get mid-game, so yeah that’s my mid-game plan for weapons but I’m not going to get in detail because I’m just him when it comes to my play style
Doing my 3rd play through on very hard. Went to the hunting grounds in Plainsong at Level 25 and the burrowers are level 13 but I couldn’t one shot stealth them. Anyone know why? It was very frustrating
I really enjoy the videos. Sadly I can't take any coil recommendations since you only show duplication glitched ones and I don't care for that... Could you make a coil video without that? You only get 2 Stealth Damage coils, so I assume Long range ones or blue Stealth or Overdraw damage?
Thanks! I do understand not wanting to do the duplication glitch. If you check out the coiling video I mentioned and linked in the pinned comment, I have plenty of recommendations in there. In general, if you don’t have enough copies of purple or gold coils, you can just use blue or green versions to fill in.
Unlimited Coils to fill up empty slots. X% is the value those have at purple Rarity. 12% Increase Coils: Impact, Tear, Explosive and Double Elemental (ex: Fire/Acid) 15% Increase Coils: Single Elemental (ex: Fire) 18% Burning/Shocked/Drenched/Corroded State Damage Increase (Increases Explosion and Impact damage). Those are unlimited, i.e. can be found as loot infinite time in a single playthrough, they start to drop about Apex Medium Machines and Regular and Apex Heavy Machines. If there is a certain special machine to farm for best chances is not known. The "Loot Slot" is shared with weaves though. The Other Coils are limited per Run through (so you can get a new set legit through New Game+). The availability varies, from 1 for Concentration or Component Tear or 3 for Crit Chance. They can also roughly put into 3 different Categories: 15% Coils: Like Agility/Concentration/Overdraw buffs Every Damage Typ + Secondary Effects (Tear, Build Up, Tearblast, Knockdown Power). 25% Coils: Here are the Ranges (Close,Long, High Ground) and Stealth, which Buffs Primary damage (Impact, Explosive, Elemental Damage (not Build Up)). The 25% Coils with strict conditions: Mutli Enemy Damage, Aerial Damage, Melee Follow Up, Knockdown Damage, which Buffs Primary and Secondary, like the 15% Coils, only by 25% when the condition is met. And then there are some coils outside of that frame: 15% Crit Chance, 15% Crit Damage (Impact, Explosive, Elemental, Tear, Tearblast); 25% Component Tear (Tear, Tearblast, only for Components, meaning not for armor plates); 100% Sharpshot Tear = Just a Tear Coil for Sharpshotbow with 100% instead of 12%. How many and were the limited coils are available you can find here: app.aboard.com/boards/1vrtOoRXOYCos7ZWyKtJP4?view=ungrouped&card=1oiYyV0xSAcjVI7eD6OFiR some of the "Farmable" info maybe not up to date. How to coil a specific Weapon Depends on the purpose you want to use the weapon for: Sharpshot Bows, have the highest Critical Damage, but only 5% Crit Chance, so the best is load them up with the Crit Coils, there are 3 Purple, the rest can be filled up with Blue Crit Chance Coils. However the best average damage would be 3x Crit Chance and 2x 25% Long Range (or Stealth) Coils. The Sun Scrourge, Hunter Bow often used for Freezing enemies, can be filled up with 15% Frost Coils easily, but if you want to have all Elementals buffed, you can choose to put the 3x15% Overdraw Coils in there, and will the rest up with Frost for an extra buff to that, or use the blue Overdraw Coils. A general advice for a non elementalm Hunter Bow is really hard to give, because it´s so versatile, but also alot of option to fill in gaps. One last thing, most Weapon Techniques to not work with Overdraw Coils due not be able to be overdrawn, exception is Double/Triple Notch.
I still don't understand WHY Silent Strike Gain cancels all Low Health buffs! I mean they don't really affect each other, so I really don't get why this is a thing. Is it a Glitch? Any theories as to why this happens? It REALLY sucks!
Well if you can actually manage that, without being on story mode,, then you might be not that bad. I think if someone knows how stealth works (so be tuned for the Stealth Masterclass), it is the easiest of all the options.
My current stream playthrough is ultra hard from scratch if you want to check it out! Thing is, the tips don't really change much for doing UH from scratch. You basically just have to be thinking about using every mechanic available and make smarter decisions with your gear choices.
I absolutely adored the first tomb but when I saw my friend playing the second and saw her skill being directed against so many people who were just there i lost interest. Funny how that works.
