Because you can do that while being interesting. There are soooooo many foreign fighters that are humble and loved, but also have at least a sliver of a personality…
Dude was the sole Reason mma granny got to meet khabib and is vip asfff all the time.. humble man love him but everyones writing off the #1 goat rn Volk... and islam about to learn theres levels to it
Man you have a high bar. “ I want to Be remembered As. Person a good person” Wow! Oh my god! Someone wants to be remembered as a good person. If you ask 100 people 99 would say that.
0:17 - How has camp and Australia been since you’ve arrived? 1:02 - Why did you want to specifically fight Volk in his home country? 1:32 - Do you believe that Alex is the #1 best fighter in the world? 1:56 - Can you remember another fighter other than Volk who called you out for a fight? 2:37 - Are you happy about how this fight has been promoted? 3:43 - Islam’s activeness. 5:30 - Do you love this sport or do you just consider it a job? 6:18 - Will you take a break during Ramadan? 6:40 - Did Islam spend over a million dollars on his training camp? 7:44 - Bobby Green. 8:48 - Possible welterweight opponent? 9:58 - Do you stand by your comments that Australians don’t have any wrestling? 10:23 - Do you believe that you could compete with Volk on your feet? 11:10 - How does Islam want to be remembered? 11:56 - More on Islam possibly moving up to Welterweight. 12:52 - What was the conversation with Khabib like when discussing his interest in moving up to WW? 13:47 - 19:58 (Russian) 19:59 - On being recognized everywhere he goes around the world.
@@mikeedwin1905 The difference being, while they may not be winning the Dagestanis are in the discussion, Australians simply aren't. We do not produce many (if any) high level wrestlers currently... I'm sure this will change with the rising popularity of MMA and combat sports. I should also point out that Dagestanis primarily train combat wrestling rather than sport wrestling, which translates about as well as Jui Jitsu does to Judo, lol. In other words, it depends how you classify "good wrestlers". Leading your rebuttal with a "nah" is the most Australian thing a non-Australian could do without going for "yeah, nah". Good showing, you from the UK? ;-)
For everybody who didn't understand the Russian part, about Volk, he answered questions about how Volk could give him trouble, how he prepared mentally for this and what training methods he used in order to be ready for Volk. He also answered a question about Dana mispronouncing his surname and why he doesn't care about it, and then goes on to answer on how involved Khabib is in this fight and the training camp with instructions over the phone, just like Abdulmanap was. The last part is just about the magnitude of this fight, what it means to have a Number 1 vs Number 2 P4P, his reaction to Khabib's hall of fame induction at the covington fight and his thoughts on Power Slap.
Islam is so calm, relaxed, and confident . He's so calculating and has no self doubt what so ever . He had a smile that lasted a whole interview with Volk. In Islam's mind, he has no doubt hes the best in the world
So Ali was never dangerous because he was known trash talker? What about Tyson? Was he not dangerous? Who would have thought that having personality means nothing if you dedicate yourself to training huh?
This made me respect Islam a lot more actually. Asked him what he wants to be remembered for and he responded by saying he wants to be remembered for not only being the best in the octagon but also his character outside of it. I'm glad he wants to be a role model for kids.
Fuck his English is so good now, 2 years ago he couldn't barely speak a lick. Amongst all his training and travelling and knocks to the head, he still has found the time to become fluent. It's insane.
@@RunForPeace-hk1cu i was thinking the same thing. As americans we only care bout ourselves so we dont take the time to learn another language. We can barely communicate with each other.
McCrippled fans who turned into Charles “die hard” fans a few months ago who turned into Volks “passionate” followers two weeks ago talking about rugby and 200lbs want this KING to lose so bad 😂😂
BRO Islam is so chill! He’s that friend that always sits quietly and is always polite and says please and thank you even tho you’ve been friends for years lmao
That's real man behavior along with their discipline, lifestyle etc.. Calm but extremely dangerous if need be. True masculinity, not these little insecure boys who call themselves "alpha" or "sigma", chasing validation by wanting all the money or women bow to their feet. These dudes binge watch Andrew Tate vids and swear they're men all a sudden.
@@IronReef77 lol you said it well. those dagestani boys dont need face tattoos or yellow pink orange purple hair lol theyre real men that ride horses and dont parade their women around half naked while shes all full of botox . i could go on.
13:45 *Russian Translation* Q: They say in your fights your opponents feel your power and are surprised about how strong you are. While feeling that they broke under the pressure, what is your opinion? Can Volkanovski surprise you in terms of his physical strength, will it be tougher to broke him mentally and physically? Islam: You know I am already prepared that he will be physically stronger (than other opponents) and I don’t want that to be a factor in the fight. We expect him to stand up, spinning around and move a lot, we prepared for all cases.” 14:28 Q: In one of your interviews you mentioned that if you would fight McGregor, your fans wouldn’t appreciate it, how come?. Do you not think that after the fight with Volkanovski you generate such a hype, that you need a fight like that? Islam: I don’t want to say that I do not need that fight with McGregor but currently between me and him there’s a huge gap (of skills). I don’t know, I guess people want to see real fights, real contenders who deserve on actions and not on words. But when the UFC will offer me that fight I will not decline it. As the Champion, I just wait for the call and accept every fight. 15:18 Q: When Dana White forgot your name on a press conference, Hasbiks reaction was that they try to treat you the same way they did with Ankalev. Can you calm him down and guarantee that this will not happen? Islam: He (Dana White) forgets my name because it is hard to pronounce it. It’s the same thing with DC, he still is not able to pronounce it and asks me especially in interviews whether he say it right. For them our family name are hard to spell out, there some letters in russian they can’t repeat and that’s why they can forget. There is nothing bad about it. 15:57 Q: So it will not happen? You don’t have the feeling the UFC want your defeat? Islam: how I should feel that? Of course not. 16:12 As far as I remember Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, when he was unable to participate in your fights, he gave advises to your cornermen threw messengers. It is possible that Khabib will do the same? And all in all, how many contact is between you both? How many messages you receive from him daily? Islam: We are in a chat group with Khabib and Zuba (Tsubaira Tughunov), for example this morning he asked about our weight. He thinks Zuba is too heavy right now. Every morning he cares about us, asking about weight, training, who we spare… We are constantly in contact. Everybody is worry about him leaving the sport but that is not true. He just stopped to fly. When he would fly with us to Australia he would leave his family again for month. But he still worries about the whole team. 17:35 Q: is there any chance he corners you in the fight (like his father did) ? Islam: I don’t think so. But it’s possible. 17:42 my colleague brought recently 10 arguments that your fight with Volkanovski is the biggest fight in mma history. What do you think? Is this fight the most important for the sport? Islam: from a sports aspect and by the skill set of competitors it is the greatest fight. There was nothing similar in the past to that. There never fought #1 and #2 PFP against each other. The PFP ranking is real. People compare the fighters in a whole, not only grappling, ground game and stand up to set the list. 18:43 Q: Nobody asked you about it. There is a famous meme of yours from the Masvidal-Covington fight. What lead to your emotions? Islam: There was nothing special. We came there to join the ceremony for Khabib (Entering Hall of Fame). We waited for 7 hours so I was a bit tired of sitting there. 19:20 Currently UFC promote and push the power slap contest. In Russia was a same project. What is your opinion on that? Don’t you think the contest is quite dangerous for the health, even more than mma? Islam: I believe 100% that this is dangerous for the health. I don’t want anything to do with this and overall I think slaps humiliate the masculinity.
We may differ in some aspects like relegion and the worldview as a whole. But he and the whole Khabib Camp seem to be funny and good people. Hope Alex can do better than Charles and maybe pull it off somehow
@@seanelovesjiujitsu I think it is funny how everyone is saying constantly to the effect of "omg Islam and Khabib are such great people, zomg". Yeah, praising and hanging around folks like Kadyrov, sure..... really great people.
@@jameslopez5652 Lol your country is literally a cartel. And Bush, Obama, etc dare to go on talk shows and walk as free men after millions they killed.
Nothing but respect. Let’s look at the Nurmagomedov legacy, the results the types of people this level of respect has brought to the light! This should be an example to all human beings and especially parents teaching the next generation of our planet the values, and dedication it takes to achieve. Hats off to Islam ✌️😇💪
bobby is a cheater believe he knows them better than anyone Islam Makhachev losses too many fans with this lieing why does he do it no one that has some education will believe his weightless lie
Father of Dagestan MMA Abdulmanap Nurmagamedov, this man's legacy will live on forever he was the beginning, many champions will come from his teachings but he is a treasure of Dagestan, a champion himself a kind heart and a physical and mental work ethic unmatched, his students are his reflection, I was not lucky enough to meet this man but i have a deep respect and love for him. May Allah swt bless him with the highest rank in Jannah. Ameen.
The intriguing thing about this fight is both are aiming to be the goats of this sport and the person that wins this fights might be on their way to be the GOAT
Jones won't get pass Gane. He struggled against Reyes 3 years ago and you people think he will just move up to heavyweight after 3 years off and smash everyone. LOL
@@BenDover-pk2cr he said he wants to chock him before the fight and he did.. he said against bobby its not a 5 round fight it’s like 1 or 2 rd max and he followed it up, against hooker he said he will make him tap and he did… so if you’re following him for a while he has backed up every his word every single time
@@jjjk24 from what I’ve seen you have to have the personality that people like, be interesting in some way (other than holding people down) to be relevant. He is champ now so he can’t be pushed down but the people like someone with flair, and so does Dana.
2 humble guys with excellent characters going at it, I love that they are both are going to get paid very well, but it sucks that one of them is going to take an L.
This guy is so humble, and have such discipline that is impossible not to love him! Islam will conquer UFC. I feel so inspired, that I will leave everything behind for a chance to learn what's real life is, around these guys! That is my dream!
Great fan of both fighters Alexander and Islam. Both are humble and well spoken. It is a pity one of them has to lose... that said, it is going to be exciting.
Aint gonna lie think we could see a giga chikadze kattar moment with the volkanovski makhachev fight ppl were believing giga would piece kattar up with them liver kick's but we all know how that ended
The fact he mentions the weather and jet lag adaptation is pro to me, a lot of fighters, even champions don't do this and lose sometimes because of it, another mention would be altitude.
heey man seen Islan talk about been a good person when remenbered, make me like him even more, I wish volk get this but if islan make it up lets go , he is in a good way he deserv evething he wants , mashala
First khabib flying eagle then rizvan and islam come to punch dildo danis on the face. After that happens dildo danis has change his career to became a twitter and insta keyboard warriors🤣😂
I do like Islam and his brother not for their fighting skills but how they are as a person. Not fake or pretending to be a certain personality to get likes or so. Very disciplined, calm focused. That being said I also like Volk too, think this is gonna be a good fight and come to a decision with Islam takin it. But I also think that Volk can win too if he plays he's cards right.

i dont think you understood what he meant.. He means alex wont lose a belt if he loses and hes going up in weight so if he loses ppeople wont put him down for it
@@chadwellington2524 I see that I just took it at first like ok guy you have nothing to lose come get this ass whooping and get your ppv money 💰 and that’s a very confident nonchalant thing to say to a dangerous man like Alex
how is that wrong lmao people with education choose what to believe throu research and dont rely on emotion driven decisions like yourself their is a reason the mass majority of people think anyone in top 5 is on some type of ped because they are its not so complicated its simply common sense
@@kane2440 Because Green only said that after getting his ass kicked by the two people he accused and he produced zero evidence other than anecdotes from unreliable sources and gut feelings. The dude is also not trustworthy in general and he has popped himself specifically. I know the latter points mean little to most people today with their short term memories and little honor, but Islam and Fiziev have always seemed honest and Bobby has always seemed sketchy (but still charismatic). Just based on that alone, most people should ignore the slanderous person and trust the guys with the good track records.
Ngl… imma khabib and Islam hater… but him sayin “you know I’m not booby green… I not drunk… so bad stuff… I train very hard. That is why he felt power” …respect. That was gangster

He was 76kg this morning..has to cut 6 kgs(10 pounds) in 2,3 days…i am guessing he is already cutting..must hv lost 5,6 kgs already…crazy how they can cut 10-12kgs(more than 20 pounds) in a week!!!no wonder it’s d hardest part of the fight!!!
Yeah I believe a 6kg water cut at 70kg is fairly normal actually, One interesting thing to note is the usual 36 hour rehydration period will be 24 hours in this case, bit of an advantage to Volk there.
