Nice tour, we are sailing on Island in a few days on a 33 day transatlantic trip. This will be the 2nd time we have sailed on Island ( last was 2000) . I see she has had some rework since then because now you cannot walk all the way around the ship on 7.
Great commentary and video! You are both charming. Love the bloopers. 😂 We are going on a cruise on this ship in October and appreciate the information provided by your tour.
Hi, thanks for the ship tour. We are thinking of this very cruise for this August. I've been on a few Princess ships but not this one. I hope you don't mind a few questions...I will also watch your video about the cruise itself. I see it advertised that there are one or two ping pong tables and also a small golf putting area and golf simulator. Is that right or has it been removed in the latest update? Was it warm in the covered pool area? I am thinking of taking my boys (20 and 23) as they'd like to see the ports - but on bigger ships they often have maybe 20-50 people of their age. Was there anyone from roughly 18 to 20s on this cruise? I guess it depends if there is a full ship or if it's half full...though in that case at least you get bar seats easier. Our cruise doesn't specify going through the Prince Christian Fjord/Sound which I beleive is spectacular, but I'm told the Captain can decide to detour there. I watched your greenland video and saw you went there. Was that on the itinerary or did the captain anounce you could do it as a detour? I'm guessing weather may prevent some ports etc and it maybe rough on the way home. Thanks
You're welcome! There are two ping pong tables and a mini golf area, but we're unsure of the simulator. The covered pool area is warm, which is nice when traveling to cooler climates. On this cruise, there weren't as many younger people, but there were a few. Keep in mind that the presence of young adults depends on a variety of things. They may not be interested in certain ports, may not have a longer period of time to take off from work (this cruise was 16 days), and depending on the time of year, it may or may not be loaded with kids and/or young adults due to school holidays. (By the way, all of France is on vacation during the month of August.) We were not scheduled to go through the sound, but our Captain was able to get a clear satellite view to allow that fantastic opportunity. It will likely be up to the weather conditions, and the clarity of the satellite results at the time. As you'll see in one of the next vlogs, one port was canceled due to weather conditions, which is common. Be ready for that, and enjoy every moment you have in that amazing part of the world! Also, if your boys are interested in the locations, they should go on this cruise, regardless of the quantity of others their age. That's just our opinion, but there aren't a lot of young people who would have such an amazing opportunity to experience these parts of our globe! Enjoy!
we are rethinking taking this cruise ship because of the lack of the International Café, remove one bar and add the café. We love getting our premium coffees and pastries in the mornings as we are not so much of breakfast in the mornings we cruise with a lot of family members and they all love the IC.
Our 2nd cruise with Princess we are on island for 21 day NY to South Hampton London with stops in Canada, Newfoundland, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, end in London 7/5/24
We will be going on a cruise with them soon. As a critical care and research professional who is an expert on what masks can and can't do, and is quite familiar with the recent Cochrane meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials on masking, I will not tolerate being compelled to wear any masks on our vacation. Others can participate in a politically-driven action that is all harm and no benefit if they want, but not us.
What you do (or believe) about masks is up to you, and the places, governments, and entities where you decide to travel. We hope you enjoy your cruise!
