Chef Kerry is not only handy with pots and pans, but also reveals his skill in the construction arena! Watch as he demonstrates his hand-crafted dough roller for assembling his Jamaican Beef Patties!
So I ended up making this roller but a little more versatile. I used bolts, steel brackets, washers and wing nuts to adjust the height. Instead of a PVC pipe I used system that allows the top bracket to be removed and a rolling pin to be inserted and removed for easier cleaning. My stainless steel rolling pin has no flex so the thickness of the dough is always the same. I also cut out a thin stainless steel sheet and glued it to the rolling surface. My device is now 100% food safe and it cost me under $40 AUD to build it. Thanks for the inspiration, I have saved so many hours because of my roller!
My brother wants to start a bakery we were planning to buy a dough sheeter then this popped out. Damn I love you tube. Bakers turned engineers and we not stopping here. Way to go buddy thanks a milli for sharing you are a life saver.
Thank you for your tour show, is very good idea and the people who show this work is very genious and very smart, congratulations prosperity came because generosity is present!!!!
Great! I was looking for a thing like that and RU-vid recomended me your video. Those man can find in the market are too expensive for my budget, and make basically the same thing. Thank you for sharing it.
Man that is EXCELLENT. Not to mention brilliant. Why go and buy some stainless steel electric monster costing 1000s of dollars when you can make one of those. I didn't get to the cooking patties bit cos I was on my way down the street to buy the stuff to make it. Congrats Chef Kerry! Simple, cheap and ingenious. Many thanks. Tibs.
Mr Lipski, I thought I had responded with my email to have you send me your plans and how you made your dough roller. Please contact me at djmcgann@yahoo.com. Thank you!
Love it rude boy great way to think outside the box. Just make sure your vigilant with pre start checks from a food safely view point just because it's wood.
I am curious, when you turn the crank, I understand why the board moves. It looks like the roller also rolls, even when it's not rolling something and doesn't seem to be touching anything. Is it somehow connected to the crank?
Bravo for trying to come up with a simple mechanism that works. I have been looking for something similar, simple and not like those rather expensive machinery on the market. Something that would replace opening/flattening the though by hand, mostly for pita bread making. Good job! keep on improving it:)
I guess im randomly asking but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Clay Jairo i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
