I totally agree, Arran is my favourite place in Scotland too, I will be heading there for the 3rd time in April. The people are so friendly and welcoming.
Isle of Arran is one of our favourites, been 3 times in the van over the years and always new things to see. If you get a hot sunny day, the hike to King's cave is fantastic.
Been loving ya videos mate. Waiting for my new van to arrive to get some adventures on the go and been watching plenty of RU-vid channels for inspiration! Was a blast from the past seeing your face, used to play football for Brendan years back and you were always about helping out with training. Good to see you doing well!
Chris great to see another great vid from yourself and Dani thanks again, your the the reason im buying a G California but its sad to see your getting grid of it.. but best of luck for new van looking forward to future reviews and vids.. James & Sunny
Another location to add to the the bucket list, can’t get enough of 🏴 as it is. Always love the sense of humour you add to your videos - very engaging.
Thanks for the vlog - looks great. My new camper is on it's way, so Arran has to be on my list. But as you can imagine, after waiting for over a year for my first van, my list is fairly long!!
I'm so excited to be following your itinerary ( not the NC500 one!)for my first solo road trip in van to Scotland. I've got your guide and I literally can't wait. Thank you 🛺
Welcome aboard and buying a campervan is the best decision you will ever make. Hope you have many amazing trips in it and make amazing memories. Ive got plenty of videos to watch back through if your looking for road trip ideas!
Glad you enjoyed wales! Your tours of Scotland are amazing and will be using your routes ourselves! Awesome content as alway! Really appreciate what you do
Thanks glad you enjoy the videos. Im planning a video at the minute where its more of a sit down and talk about places i would recommend visiting. If theres any questions you would have that you would like answering let me know!
Really enjoyed that. When you only have two weeks every now and then to get away ( I live in the Isle of Man so its a pain in the hoop) its hard to try and fit as much in as possible. I end up rushing things. I did the West coast and it never seemed to find the time to actually relax and enjoy it. I'll put this on my list. How long would you stay for to get the best out of Isle of Arran? I see her point on the Bridge comment ;-).
Very cool editing on the best driving road part!!!, was there a few years ago but we've not been with dougalthecampervan yet. Keep up the good work you two!!! ATB Chris.
Great vlog. Arran was our first adventure in our t4 last September love the west coast loads of park ups. Did you get a visit from the ranger? they stopped to chat with us just to make sure everything was okay
Love Arran but them I'm biased. Not only do I see it everyday from Ayrshire but my Mum is from there and I have wonderful memories of childhood holidays visity my grandparents in Lamlash. Great video and I'm glad you fell in love with Arran too ❤
Spooky - we were literally just researching a trip around Arran last night. Great timing abd you've definitely swayed us to go and add it on to a longer Hebrides trip. Great video as always. No mention of grey houses sounds promising 😎
We stay not far from Arran on the main land just up the road from where you got the ferry so visit Arran regularly. Beautiful Island and you should definitely do Goatfell the next time. Great video once again. Any word on your new van or still a touchy subject.
I saw you other Arran video a few days ago and just came across this one. I love Arran. Definitely my favourite Scottish island (not that I've been to many, admittedly) if not my favourite place in Scotland. One of my favourite places to visit when I'm home. Was there again in September for the 6th time. Still haven't seen most of it yet (climbed Goatfell twice and attempted a 3rd in September), would love to have time to explore it thoroughly, but not easy without a car (and not living in Scotland). I also visited Lochranza Castle, was going to visit King's Cave too, but didn't have time. I made a couple of videos about my Arran visit too!
It’s great to see you visiting Scotland so much, and that you’ve become a bit of an advocate for the place. I really enjoy watching your videos regardless where you are visiting though. Great editing, with some amazing footage from the drone etc. Love the rating system and the completely honest (warts and all) approach you have. Sometimes videos like these can come across little disingenuous. PS - Robert the Bruce is kinda a big deal up here in Scotchland. If you ever do read up about him, well you will find out, the boy did good.. 😂
Thanks mate glad you like the videos. I love the place and the people its such an amazing country that is so close to where i live. Its becoming a bit of a running joke that every time i drive south i hate it but north is a different story. I try to share everything whether its good or bad and whether im right or wrong (im mostly wrong) but i enjoy it so until it stops being fun they will continue! Ill Google him haha
Hey, its beautiful aint it. If you check our recent videos we are 3 episodes into a series we are shooting on Arran where we visit every other week until the end of January and we are also there for Christmas in the van this year! Come say hello if you see us.
We're planning a trip to Arron in September, we've never been off gird in our van, would really appreciate some tips on where to the park ups are a brilliant blog subscribed 😀
We had it planned on our last day as initially the AM of our last day was forecast to be gorgeous but then when we woke up it was 40+mph winds, rain and overcast. Ferries ended up being cancelled and everything so next time we head back we will.
I was super keen to see what you’d think of Arran! My parents bought a holiday home in Lochranza 2 years ago which I’ve been travelling back and forth to from Edinburgh to renovate it at weekends for them. It really is a stunning place and so accessible compared to the other islands further north, despite the ferries being a bit of a liability!
Ah mate your lucky to get to visit there so much. I loved the place and really looking forward to heading back. Funnily enough our ferry got cancelled for "adverse weather" despite the weather being fine and its funny how you cant claim any money back off them if its cancelled for weather.
@@ChrisSloanes yeah man, they get cancelled all the time! The ferry at Lochranza is pretty consistent but it’s a 4/5 drive home for us instead of 2 hours. You must love all the grey houses in Ardrossan before you get on the ferry though👀 😂
I closed my eyes as I drove through 😂😂 not a pretty place haha. We heading back up that way to do the Kintyre 66 next week, gunna kill me being able to see Arran and wanting to go there instead haha
The most beautiful Island in Scotland, with a few nice beaches. A trip to Holy isle would of been amazing, I've been to the top for a midsummer sunset, you need your own boat to do it though as you not meant to be on the isle after 6pm. . The ferry is on our doorstep, about 5 mins away. You should check out some of the best beaches in Scotland just before you get on the ferry, all along the Ayrshire coastline with miles of sandy beaches and rocky shores with stunning castles and small harbours. well worth the visit.
Hi this is my sons channel I'm Sam his mam commenting... as a fellow Geordie ( South Shields) but have lived on Arran since 1985 when I first started watching your vlog I was like dont be dissing my Beautiful island 😮 but I knew it would win you over 😅 but in Whiting bay where I live we have an amazing Waterfall called *Glenashdale Falls * and the *Giants Graves* so maybe you get them next time 😊
If you watch any of our other videos we’ve been back to Arran 6 times on video and 12 weeks in total now. We’ve written a travel guide and all sorts. This video is pretty old now
Hi I know it was an old vlog I sort of got dragged down a Rabbit hole watching videos of Arran because I started watching a fellow islander who goes by the RU-vid name of *Dave the Rave roaming the Rock* who is doing vlogs about the island and saw yours so I will go watch you're other videos 👍👍
Thanks for sharing. I couldn’t help laughing at the written transcript. RU-vid is having trouble with your accent. “Dodgy knack of broads”. “The wiz has been well worth it”. 😂😂😂
Enjoyed your video, but you need to get out of your van and look for walks going into Arran instead of the tourist road trip. Eas Mor, should have carried on to Loch Garbad. Walk up Glen Sannox for more stunning scenery. Walk up Glen Rosa to the Saddle will take your breath away. Goat Fell, I have done only three quarters of the way so far but plan to do it later this year. Many more walks off the normal tourist way and if you want a good view of Arran, try the Ross road. Thanks, from another Geordie.
Well so wasnt expecting your final score after listening to your comments going round...lol guess Ive just not watched enough to pick up on ur style yet... laughed out loud at ur Kings Cave comments though might be something to do with Robert the Bruce whoever he was. Away to watch more of ur content thanks for the Arran Tour
You will learn in time that i make no sense half of the time. I start off hating most things, moan about it and then end up loving it. Its kinda my thing haha.
Love following your channel. Truly inspiring. Just finished converting my van and about to start my adventures so Park4night subscription would be a massive help.
That waterfall was impressive; I could pee more than that! You obviously had good weather, though, if you could see Ailsa Cr... sorry, Nipple Island. I'll never see it the same again now! 😂
