I demonstrate how to use an Isobutane Refill Adapter for your gas canisters.
The one that I am using is found on Amazon and it is called:
Doorslay Canister Refill Shifter Flat Gas Tank Gas Shifter Adapter for Camping Outdoor Activities
It's a generic version of the FlipFuel.
Isobutane gas canister refill adapter (similar to what I was using) amzn.to/3ESCAqg
Filmed on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Handy little adapter!
@agesadventures
@agesadventures Год назад
Yeah, it should allow me to go out with just one canister rather than carrying 2 because one is getting close to empty. I'll just buy the bigger canisters and refill the smaller ones and save a little money 💰 🤑

Thank you😁 Yes, it can help save money and helps by combining all the partially empty containers into one full one for a trip.

I also refilled mine for the summer. I’ll refill with butane tanks or the isobutane ones from Canadian tire which are made by woods . But for the colder time of year I use the MSR and jet boil , which is a mixture of isobutane and propane and sometimes I find the ones made by Martin at Princess auto, which is a blend of butane propane work fairly good in the winter. I usually only carry the small ones with me the MSR ones I like they give you the empty and full weight on the cannister 3.9 oz empty and 7.4 oz full and yes, it makes a big difference if you put it in a freezer before you feel them

I'm impressed with how easy the process was. I'll have to check out prices at Princess Auto for the Martin canisters. I don't go there often and when I do I like to have a shopping list😁 I get a lot of stuff from Canadian Tire. It's cheap and close by for me. I buy on the Canadian Tire MasterCard and get the bonus points too. I'm hoping this summer to use my twig stove, but it's starting to get warm out already so we may have an early fire ban season 😞 So I'll be using gas stoves in that event. So this little gadget will probably come in very handy. When you got your adapter, was it a name brand or just an Amazon special, like I got?

An interesting tool. When there are several half-empty gas canisters on the shelf, it would be good to get the gases in one canister. There won't be that much waste. However, a full gas canister must always be taken on trips, so the shelves are full of half-empty canisters.
@agesadventures
@agesadventures Год назад
This is the reason I got this. It's cheaper to refill smaller canisters and you can take all the half empty canisters and put the gas into one canister. Then you have one full canister when you go out on an adventure 😁

We've been using Propane for years now, but still have an old butane stove sitting around somewhere. May just have to dig it out and try it next time.
@agesadventures
@agesadventures Год назад
You could also use the gadget with the 1lb propane bottles. You just need two of the adapters. I already have the one adapter and plan on getting a second one so I can do propane to propane. If you've got the butane, dig it out and give it a go. I'm a fan of stoves. I have started a small collection, lol. I need to figure out a rotation for them.

I keep telling myself I'm gonna get one of these fittings.... I need to do it! I use the little cans of isobutane because of their light weight, but I always take a new can out with me. Resultingly I have about a dozen 1/4 full cans. Ugh.
@agesadventures

Oh, yeah, it sounds like you need one of these then! They're quite easy to use and I'm glad I have mine.

Of all the gas canisters ive ever used, the camping gaz ones are superior . Ive seen a few vids with thiscrefills but they were not successful . Its the cooling is the key

I don't think we have that brand here. A quick Google makes me think it's owned by Coleman which we do have here. Yeah, if you don't have a temperature differential between the two canisters then it won't work properly.
@lifesahobby
@lifesahobby Год назад
@@agesadventures I love them , I buy six every six months , they're just consistent even in cold. I think it's the same connection as the Coleman

This all started with sausages didnt it . Good info on how to do this refill technique . Not many people know this .
@agesadventures
@agesadventures Год назад
It did start with the sausages🙂 I figured to mention the bit about cooling one because I think most people would try to just connect the two together without one cooler than the other.

It was really simple to use. It saves you from having to carry around two canisters if one is getting near empty . It allows you to consolidate all those almost empty canisters into one as well. Maybe one day you'll try it and be a little adventurous, lol 😁

Love this. Especially since the small can inters can become scarce at certain times of year. And it saves throwing away so many canisters. Good job.
@agesadventures
@agesadventures Год назад
@@frh-freerangehuman they do become scarce. It's cheaper to get a large canister and refill the smaller ones. I also like the versatility of putting different fuels in there depending on the season/weather.
