Isolation | Joy Division | Gothik Serpent Cover 

With its powerful bass line and electronic vibes, Joy Division's Isolation, off their second album Closer, is a contrast of upbeat instrumentation and intensely dark lyricism.
Like many other Joy Division songs, Isolation sticks to its one riff for the entirety of its length, so I wanted to modernize it by adding a bridge section and several layers of guitars for added texture and rhythm. Above all, channeling the full powers of the Rickenbacker 4003 with its ability to separate its pickup signals was critical in preserving the song's most recognizable element.
